  I feel the good Lord was with me as I chose my retirement celebration destination. I had only heard of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas years ago but for some reason it popped up into my head when choosing my destination. I went online and found the site for the Lake Cortez lakehouse. I booked the trip which included my two children, their spouses and my four grandchildren. We were all amazed at the beauty of the lake house, the scenery around it, all the amenities of the house as well as how safe and secured we felt in the house. The kitchen was amazing. We took turns preparing elaborate meals each night and enjoyed the prepartion in such a well equipped kitchen. The kids enjoyed the vast array of games that were available in the house as well as the DVD and movies. Even though the house was very spacious, it seems that it was unanimous, we all enjoyed congregating in the Arkansas room The one and only concern that we had was that the upper deck and steps going down from it were not designed with small children in mind. A small child could easily fall through the slats located around the upper deck as well as fall through the slats on the steps leading to the backyard. We had to be with them every step of the way in that aspect. Perhaps additional boards being added to the existing framework would make the vacation a lot less stressful for those with small children. As far as would I return there for another vacation, indeed I would and yes, there is conversation of returning there in the next couple of years. Also, we would go when it's a little warmer so that we can take better advantage of the inviting lake for water activities!!

  The pictures on the website caught my attention and it was everything as portrayed on the website. Eight of us went to play golf(our first visit to HSV) and rented both of their houses. All of us were very enthusiastic regarding our accomodations. The only drawback was the distance between the houses. Tammy went above and beyond our expectations in helping us to secure tee times prior to our arrival and was in constant touch throughout our stay to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. I have rented many properties through VRBO and can assure you I have not had a better experience with the property and especially the owner. Thanks so much Tammy for sharing your beautiful homes and for your very friendly hospitality...albeit from a few hundred miles away. Wish we could have met!

  As the other reviewers have mentioned, the house has amazing views, a great location and is fully stocked with everything you can think of and then some. What made this place stand out, was the fact that Tammy and Steve were extrememly accomidating as to the many varibles that arise like the weather and travel conditions. This was our first experience with the people of Arkansas and we found everyone very helpful and friendly. It made us Minnesota Nice people feel right at home!! I enjoyed the trails in HSV as well as the hiking trails in the nearby parks. Admition was free so we could use them as many times as we liked.

  I completed my 4th trip to this lake house in October 2012 for our annual golf trip and am in the process of booking our next trip for this October. Each year our group considers going somewhere new, but the ultimate question is always why bother? This house is awesome, the location on the lake is quiet, peaceful and relaxing and the owners always make sure we have everything we need. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare simple or gourmet meals, including all kinds of spices, and we love the gas grill on the patio. The house is well furnished, the beds are comfortable and the house is always immaculately cleaned. All the reviews are true – this house is truly a home away from home! Having 8 golf courses to choose from within a 15 minute drive makes this an ideal location for a golf vacation. We have played most of the courses now and I can honestly say we enjoyed all of them. Golfers of all skill levels will enjoy these courses. All offer a replay for cart fee only and we have never had a problem getting in a second 18, even in mid-October. Also, all 8 courses allow you to bring coolers full of your favorite beverages. What our group saves on drinks alone offsets most of our green fees! My only advice is to check on course maintenance. HSV is in the process of converting their greens from bentgrass to bermuda to better cope with the hot summer conditions. They started in 2012 and I think plan to work on one course per summer. We stock the fridge on the first day and then golf all day and relax all night. We grill every night and then chill on the patio, watch sports on the flat screen, play cards and just hangout. This is truly a great place for a guy’s retreat. P.S. My wife loved it too when I brought the family out for Spring Break in March 2012. Rent this house and I know you will not be disappointed!

  My family and I had already stay at this beautiful home during the summer. It was so relaxing that we decided to rent it for Christmas week. With the Arkansas weather we were able to fish for a couple of days and then the cold weather set in on the day of Christmas. I had put on my last post "I hope we get snow" and boy did we ever get the snow, something like 6-8 inches. It was beautiful and the most peacful scene ever. (The HS Village POA were really good at taking care of the main roads so that they were clear). . The house became our home for a week and we had everything we needed. Steve and Tammy would email and call us to make sure we were ok and all was well. Thank you so much for the Christmas memories. Next time i will be more specific regarding the snow wish.

  This is exactly what my husband and I needed! The home was everything we had hoped and more. We spent our days hiking on trails, exploring Hot Springs, and relaxing on the patio. Our evenings were spent cooking in the amazing kitchen with a bottle of wine listening to music. The fall was a perfect time to come. The weather and colors of the trees were beautiful. This home and town is also great for dogs. They are apart of our family, and we were so fortunate to be able to bring them along for this getaway. Thank you Tammy and Steve for opening your home! -The Williams

  Thank you for sharing your beautiful lake home with us. It is everything and more that you advertised. The pictures on your website are great but the property is better than shown. We have been renting in Hot Springs Village for over 5 years for golfing trips and this is our first time to use vrbo. Perfect is all I can say. The house is spotless, and for the cook, everything you will need. You have given a tremendous amount of thought and organization to make your guest have everything they need. I haven't even mentioned the view and the lake. This house is perfect for a vacation all year round. The lake is beautiful and of course we were happy with the location to our favorite golf courses. The house has very comfortable beds, great televisions(for watching those fall football games), beautiful baths and all the comforts of home. Just can't think of anything negative about this propery. The owners are wonderful and do their best to make your stay special. Thank you again for letting us bring our Chico.

  Our week at this wonderful beautifully decorated house was great! The house with every attention to detail was perfect. We were amazed at all the extras that were included and thought of by our host. The trees and their color were breathtaking as was the lake. The setting is beautiful - quiet and relaxing. The deck and the dock were the perfect places to watch the sunsets. I can't imagine anything else you would want with this house, any time of year. We will definitely be back as soon as we can. It will be a perfect place for our sons and their families next summer. So much to do or not do! We ate at Debra's and also Tanner on the Green. They were both reasonable and very good. The beds, linens, kitchen equipment, laundry room, birdseed, Arkansas room were all the best. You won't regret staying at this house!

  This summer we had a great week at Steve and Tammy’s house. Our two considerations when deciding on a place to rent were having easy lake access and having enough room for a large-ish group. When I saw the pictures of Steve and Tammy’s house, I knew it was the house for us! The pictures don’t lie! Their place is well-maintained, clean, well-supplied, well-furnished and roomy. They’ve done a great job of decorating and giving thought to whatever their guests might need. Our family had a great time cooking, grilling, fishing, swimming and relaxing inside and out at their house. The views of the lake are great - so when we weren’t actually IN the lake swimming and playing, we enjoyed watching it while dining and sitting around. The house is situated in a terrific spot on the lake. It’s in a fairly private spot, but not so far down a cove that the water gets too shallow to swim or that you have to touch the mucky bottom (I hate that!) We swam right off the dock and spent hours playing in the water there. Other times, we took kayaks out and fished around the lake and explored the little coves. We were also able to rent the boat they have available and to take it out tubing. There were very few other people on the lake, so we felt like we had it virtually to ourselves. Those few we met kayaking and the like were always friendly. The water was clean, the perfect temperature and it was just delightful to float around in. Those few times that we got tired of the water, we enjoyed watching movies or catching up on email - the internet service is fast and reliable and Steve and Tammy even had DVDs available so that we could watch a movie we hadn’t seen. Tammy was great about communication and we had no trouble finding their place, nor gaining access. Everything was up front, honest and exactly as described, if not better. My family has made plans to return to this house as it is, from all I can tell, the best rental available at Hot Springs Village.
