Kona Plaza, located right in the heart of Kailua-Kona, is a quiet and private condominium building within walking distance of everything you want to do in Kona. Just across the street, you can go to the beach, the pier, shopping, and to the best restaurants in town. This condo unit (303) is located on the third floor overlooking beautiful Kailua Bay with a direct ocean view.
The condo has one bedroom with a new King sized bed and a very comfortable queen size foldout couch in the living room (sleeps 2-4 people). Blow up mattresses are also available if the kids want to sleep on the lanai (Our boys love sleeping outdoors on the lanai). The condo has recently been partially renovated and redecorated in a tropical and comfortable island style. It includes a fully equipped kitchen as well as a washer/dryer inside the unit.
Guests of Kona Plaza unit 303 can enjoy the onsite pool, sun decks, BBQ area, and secure onsite garage parking. Nearby, you will find additional shops, art galleries, beach apparel stores, hair salons, spas, jewelry stores, and great restaurants.
This location is perfect for Ironman. You can watch the swimming portion of the competition from the lanai or one of the sundecks and the marathon (on Ali'i Dr) from the lanai as well. Spinner Dolphins jump for your entertainment almost daily! The huge sliding glass doors out to the lanai overlook Ali'i Drive and the ocean. However, when you go to sleep you don't want to hear the action on Ali'i Drive! Fortunately, the glass sliding doors are made of soundproof glass and provide a very quiet experience for everyone in the unit. Central air conditioning is provided.

The location is great -- right above quaint shops of downtown Kona. Walking distance to a beach with snorkeling and paddle boards, and a beautiful view. We have a family of six and two of the kids slept on the lanai and thoroughly enjoyed it.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My 15 year old son and I had a great time in Kona. The condo was perfectly situated and within walking distance to most things, especially the water. We were literally a 5 minute walk from the door to the ocean. In the morning we even swam with the dolphins out front. The condo itself has a pool, free underground parking, and BBQ's in a common area. The kitchen was what you would expect for a couple or a family with small kids. Large deck and a wonderful sized bedroom with a king bed. Nice simple bathroom and also has a washer and dryer. Open the sliding doors and you hear the birds in the morning and the surf. Close them and a sound sleep was assured. The owners were great to deal with via email or the occasional phone call. They thought of everything for someone travelling to Hawaii, they provided boogie boards, snorkeling equipment, beach chairs, a cooler and umbrellas. They even provided information on what to do, where to go and had good recommendations as to companies to deal with. So, just show up and be ready to enjoy your time in Kona. I relly enjoyed my stay at this condo. The facility was really nice, clean and the owner was very helpful. Located in the heart of downtown Kona, we found this property to be safe, secure, and more than what we had hoped. In all honesty, we plan on skipping the "resort scene" on our next visit to the Big Island. The listing was accurate and we were impressed with the location of shops and restaurants literally at our doorstep. The owner was professional and courteous in all their communications with us. We highly recommend this property and this owner, in particular. We visited the Canoe Club and the Beachcomber for dinners/sunsets and spent a day driving around the island visiting places such as Place of Refuge, Southpoint, Green Sand beach (via our Jeep), Black Sand beach, and Hilo. Snorkeling and Hapuna Beach were highlights of our trip.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Such a wonderful place! Everything is as it is presented in the descriptions, if not better. Very clean, neat and organized...well kept. Owner was very easy to work with. Love that this unit had an awesome view of the ocean and because of its central location, was able to walk to the main strip. Price was very good! We enjoy being able to sleep in, make our own breakfast, then go about our activities, at our own leisure. This unit is a wonderful fit for that. Would definitely stay there again and would highly recommend it.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This condo is in a perfect location and has everything you'll need. We enjoyed drinking our Kona coffee on the large lanai with an ocean view. The sun deck with BBQ was great for grilling. We also loved the huge king sized bed. This is a great place to stay for a family with children. You won't regret it!Recommended for: People with disabilities, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

My sisters and I and my three-month-old daughter stayed here for a week this April. We had such a great time! The condo was great, lots of room for all of us, and so nice to have a kitchen to use, a washer and dryer, and plenty of linens and towels, etc. It was also great to have snorkeling equipment, a cooler, and boogie boards- we used them all on a daily basis! The condo was clean and well-maintained and in the perfect location. Shops and dining are basically right outside the condo and it was so nice to have an ocean view in the morning. We loved sipping our Kona coffee on the lanai! Even though the condo is located right on the busy strip, we had no problems with noise, and my sisters even slept out on the lanai a couple nights! Kona is a beautiful place and staying in this condo made our trip even better. I would definitely recommend it and I would definitely stay again! My only small complaint is that there was no laundry soap or dryer sheets, but we just picked up a small bottle at Target. Hope to be back one day soon!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
