If you are looking for a beautiful, tranquil, modern casita with gorgeous views in one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in San Miguel de Allende, Casita Preciosa is the place for you! The casita is centrally located (a 5-7 minute walk to Centro and the Jardin) but is situated in a quiet neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. The walk to Centro is beautiful; you will pass gorgeous properties on tree-lined streets as you make your way to the center of town.
This modern casita, built in 2010, is stylishly designed and caters to the needs of sophisticated and discerning travelers with its relaxing colors, chic accents and new appliances.
The ground floor entrance includes a workspace studio, full bath (with shower), mirrored wall, and access via stairs to the second level.
The next level is an open plan space that includes an immaculate designer kitchen, dining, and comfortable living area. A window wall that extends the full length of the room fills the space with light. From the windows one can enjoy the beautiful landscaping, mature bougainvillea and large trees outdoors while working inside the kitchen or relaxing in the living area. During cooler weather, a gas fireplace provides warmth and beauty. The living area is bright throughout the day, blurring the division between indoors and outdoors while maintaining an interior that has an airy and spirited quality.
The bedroom level is accessed via stairs and includes the master bedroom with comfortable queen-size bed, a chic bathroom with decorative stone flooring and artisan lighting, and a lovely terrace accessed via French doors. This level is also sunny and has sweeping views of the adjoining properties and hills. The terrace is perfect for relaxing with coffee in the morning at the French cafe table or with a glass of wine in the evening. You can also enjoy the terrace and view from your bed. Either way, you have complete privacy while enjoying the beauty of the outdoors. Also on the bedroom level is the washer/dryer located off the terrace in a discrete cupboard so that laundry needs can be taken care of on the same level as clothes storage.

We visited San Miguel de Allende during Day of the Dead observances and stayed in the casita for eight days. We enjoyed it very much and the three levels were not a problem. The casita was very clean and it appeared to be recently finished. It was decorated in a tasteful fashion with very nice artwork. A maid came by most days of our stay so we washed no dishes. The neighborhood was quiet and very beautiful with many bougainvillaea in bloom. The cobblestone streets are charming as is most of the city. We mixed our travel between walking and inexpensive taxi rides. We would return to the casita in a heartbeat.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, age 55+.

We stayed in this casita for 2 weeks and we were very comfortable. It was new, extremely clean and included maid service. It is situated in three separate levels so not suitable for people who don't like stairs, but we didn't mind. The upper floor bedroom has a little balcony overlooking the street. We also liked the gas fireplace as there is no other heating. It's a fairly quiet neighbourhood with both Mexicans and ex-pats living in the area. The walk to the main plaza takes about 15-20 minutes, much of it uphill (but it's easier walking home downhill). You must take a taxi to the big grocery store, but there is a tiny corner store nearby where you can buy delicious cake and ice cream. The owner Judith is very pleasant and accommodating, and will help you find anything you need.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, age 55+.

I built this casita with location upmost in mind: in my opinion, this is the most beautiful neighborhood in San Miguel de Allende. It is a short 5-7 minute walk to Centro; however, the ambience of the neighborhood is world's apart. When you retire here after your day of sightseeing or shopping, you will be relaxing in a quiet, light, beautiful environment with views of other lovely properties, lush landscaping, and well-established trees.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
The casita is very close to Centro. The terrace off the upstairs master bedroom has an exquisite view of the surrounding hills, residential properties, and neighboring gardens. The washer/dryer is conveniently located upstairs in a cupboard off the terrace. A gas fireplace will keep you warm during cooler weather. You can enjoy strolling the neighborhood with many opportunities for great photos, birdwatching, and appreciating the colorful designs and decorations of neighborhood house exteriors.
