  My daughters (ages 18 and 22) and I stayed in Fidel's apartment for a week over the Christmas 2012 holidays. It was the perfect place for us -- quiet, convenient location, easy access to metro, restaurants, convenience store and full service grocery store. The neighborhood felt very safe. We made use of and enjoyed every amenity, from the well-equipped kitchen to the wireless internet to the rooftop terrace. The apartment was spotless. Fidel is a welcoming, engaging and kind host. I hope to return to Barcelona at some point and would not hesitate to stay in Fidel's apartment again.

  This was our second stay in this apartment, confirming that this is a great place to stay and the owner, Fidel, is a great and friendly host. He responded quickly to our e-mails, was easily accessible if we needed something, and he had some great restaurant and local shop recommendations. The apartment was clean and equipped with everything we needed, including high speed and reliable wifi. We were here once again in late February for my husband to make his annual visit to a trade show and since he was there for work, the wifi was very important. The apartment was convenient to the metro and there were some nice food shops and restaurants in the immediate area including the restaurant Crown Marine which was on the very same block. We enjoyed our stay just as much the second time and we would happily stay here again. We highly recommend the apartment. Thanks Fidel for helping us have another great stay!

  Fidel's place was excellent for our family of four. He was a terrific host, the apartment was clean and well-equipped. The building and the neighborhood are terrific. We will definitely stay there again anytime we come to Barcelona -- which we hope will be soon!

  If you want a taste of Barcelona life, away from the noise and the crowds, this is a great choice. The property is as-advertised and we felt like it was good value. The neighborhood has a great supply of grocers, bakery, butcher, restaurants, and easy access to several Metro stations including Sants Estacio. The apartment is clean and well furnished, has a good kitchen, and is very quiet at night. We were well rested in the morning and ready to spend the day around town. Fidel made sure we felt right at home, and did a great job of communicating and being accessible. Restaurant Tips: The Crown Marine would be a great find if you stumbled upon it, but it is right on the corner. Also check out Mandi Mandi (on Valencia) if you want some excellent northern Italian cuisine. We have no reservations at all recommending this apartment, or staying here again if we have the opportunity.

  I found this a clean, peaceful, and very well-placed apartment in a relatively calm but still lively part of Barcelona. Fidel, the owner, is thoroughly considerate, helpful, and affable. Since it's within walking distance to the Barcelona Sants train station, it's ideal for those wishing to take side-trips from Barcelona. I had a wonderful stay and heartily recommend this apartment to others.

  We stayed at this apartment during the La Merce festival this year and were pleasantly surprised to find the apartment exactly as it was described on the website with everything we could possibly need. It is located just a short walk from an easily accessible/cheap Metro system (get the 10 tickets for less than 10Euros - over half price of buying them individually) The apartment was a great place to retreat from the craziness of the festival and to enjoy some of the fireworks from afar on the terrace. Fidel is great, he is extremely helpful, easily to contact and prompt in replying. I would definately recommend to anyone thinking of staying in Barcelona to stay here.

  This apartment was perfect for the four of us for the entire week! It's in a great location in L'Eixample, an excellent, historic, and beautiful area in Barcelona. It's just a short walk to the metro, and an even shorter walk to a taxi stand. *On the same block* you will find: two bodegas selling fruits and sundries, several restaurants and tapas bars (with outdoor seating), a charcuterie, a panaderia (bakery), even a hair salon. Within two blocks, you'll find even more of the same, as well as a comprehensive grocery store. The apartment was clean, well-equipped, and nicely furnished. The owner, Fidel, not only left a bottle of local wine upon arrival (a nice touch) but also several shopping and restaurant recommendations. The apartment has a private terrace on the roof that gets plenty of sun and affords a lot of privacy. Though he wasn't there to greet us, Fidel made our initial entry into the apartment as easy as could be (a neighbor let us in), and was available via e-mail if we had any questions. Fidel was incredibly hospitable and made all transactions and communication easy.The neighbors who let us in was also incredibly helpful, accommodating, and friendly. All in all, we would recommend this apartment to any friends planning a trip to Barcelona--and we would of course rent it again, too. Really, we have no complaints--in fact, we *miss* this place.

  I stayed at this apartment and everything was as good or better than expected. The apartment was clean and comfortable. The highlight for me was the rooftop patio. Fidel was very welcoming and helpful, and the apt was really close to a good Metro stop, and just a few minutes ride to the city center. I highly recommend this place, and would stay here again if my travels bring be back to the lovely city of Barcelona.

  I must agree with the other posters. The apartment was way better than we expected. Located on the fifth floor of a traditional downtown Barcelona building, it's clean, spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and plenty of cupboards and closets. The Eixample neighbourhood is a little outside the main tourist area (a good thing in my books) but there's no shortage of good bars and restaurants in easy waking distance. Fidel, the owner, was terrific — easy to reach if we had any questions and extremely amenable about booking in and booking out. I would have no reservations about recommending this apartment.
