We stayed in the Heron cottage in August of 2011 and absolutely loved it. It is located right over the water (no kidding) and the view is to die for. We woke up each morning, had our coffee on the deck (our own private deck) and enjoyed watching the boats going and coming. The cottage was small but we knew that when we rented it. It was furnished beautifully - nothing fancy but high end furniture. There is also another small cottage next door and a large cottage also that the owners own. Speaking of the owners, they were a joy to deal with. Got in touch quickly to my questions, sent rental agreement amd all pertinent information regarding driving instructions, keys to cottage, manager's telephone numbers, etc. it was our first trip to Maine but it will not be our last. We love it there and we loved our cottage location. There is a lobster house within walking distance but we bought fresh lobsters at the market and cooked them at the cottage and ate them while looking out over the harbour. Magnificent!! I would highly recommend this lovely place, although I hesitate to because I am afraid it will not be available when we want to return and we will return. August was a beautiful time of the year to visit Maine, not too hot or too cold. Enjoy YOUR visit at this cozy little cottage with amazing views!,Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.
