  We went to the Double D Lodge for a girls getaway on 1/23 to 1/25/13. We purchased the rental through one of the internet offer companies (like Groupon, Living Social). Everything was perfect. The rental transaction was quick and easy. Double D sent us detailed information about the property, how to get there and how to access the property. Even though there was a specific check in time, they allowed us to check in early, which was so convenient for us. The lodge was gorgeous inside. The kitchen area was outstanding, including a wine refrigerator. There were two dishwashers, plenty of glassware, plates, cooking pans, in other words a completely stocked kitchen. We enjoyed the wine glasses which were uniquely decorated. There were three levels of space. I slept in the "penthouse" or the upper level. It was private and secluded. There was a spiral staircase that led to the location. There was an attic -type rumpus room perfect for kids, with a TV and space to play. My bed had a memory foam mattress. I had never slept on one. I found it to be extremely comfortable. The living room had a fireplace and there was plenty of stocked firewood outside. There was a blue ray, dvd player and large flat screen TV. We took advantage of it's use to watch a couple of movies in the evening. There was a spacious laundry room, a queen sized bed in one room with great decor. The bunk room was really quaint and fun. There were plenty of towels, and bedding. The heating unit was easy to operate and worked perfectly. We loved our stay. It was raining and we didn't get to take advantage of the outdoor Tiki bar and bocce ball area. We would definitely stay again. Loved all of it!

  Our family comes from various parts of California and also the Midwest, so we wanted to do something special for Christmas and spend it together in a beautiful, peaceful, and snowy location. Lake Arrowhead was a great area for this-- and the Double D Lodge could not have been any more perfect for our family (7 adults and one 5-year old). Everything about this home is thoughtfully designed and cared for, and it is extremely luxurious yet cozy all at the same time. We absolutely loved every inch of this house, and here are just a few aspects of it to mention: the wonderful fireplace with easy gas lighting and supplied with the most rustic, aromatic smelling wood straight from the outdoors; the fabulous sound system throughout the entire house with volume controls in every room; the beautiful dining room table with bench seating which fit us all perfectly for each meal; the main bathroom that has separate shower and toilet rooms for multiple usage; the bunk room with the comfiest bunk beds we've ever slept on including two special kid bunks with reading lights; the well-stocked, expansive, and modern kitchen; the great laundry room; the secret child-sized upstairs room that our niece immediately turned into her little house; the great selection of cable channel and movie options on all three flat-screen TVs throughout the house; and, lastly, the beautifully decorated and lit Christmas tree that greeted us upon arrival along with all the other little design details that made our stay so warm and special. Our niece exclaimed several times that she wanted to live there forever, and everyone agreed that it was one of our best Christmases ever. We only wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you, Grant and Judy, for your kindness and hospitality and for welcoming us into your beautiful home. We hope to return again one day soon.

  My friends and I wanted to get away from the corporate world of San Francisco and go on a mini vacation. It was worth it! The place was big enough for the seven of us. we LOVED the sound system around the WHOLE house. we also love the kitchen! we had like three different cooks in the kitchen and it was nice to have that big amount of space. Ha and we definitely enjoyed the games in the cupboard. We felt like we were back in our youth! Thank you for having us!

  We had a lovely time at the Double D Lodge over Labor Day Weekend. We had a group which included 10 adults, three small children and a boxer dog named Ginger, but we all felt there was plenty of space. The secret room upstairs for the kids is great, and is also a viable sleeping option for adults if you don't mind getting cozy. Our group did quite a bit of cooking, and found the kitchen to be fully stocked with supplies. The bocce ball court out back got a lot of use, and the beach club passes to Lake Arrowhead are a real perk! Grant, the owner was very friendly and provided prompt responses to all my questions. Highly Recommended!

• WONDERFUL!

  Where to begin!?! This was our 3rd annual trip to the Arrowhead area. We were there for 3 nights and just returned today. We travel with another family and between us, there are 4 adults, and 6 kids ranging in age from 13 down to 2. We were THOROUGHLY impressed with Double D Lodge! The owners, Judy and Grant, thought of everything to make this an awesome place to stay! A few of the things that stood out to us were the Netflix on demand, the bunk room that easily sleeps 8, the kid's "secret room", the COMFY bed linens, the abundance of bath towels, the welcome bottle of wine, and last, but definitely not least, the kitchen that is stocked with everything....ample plates, glasses (every kind of glass you can think of), cookware, bakeware, etc! Oh, and 2 DISHWASHERS which was great for our large group!! I LOVE to cook and this kitchen was a dream come true! Aside from how wonderful the cabin is, the owners were great to work with. Judy responds to emails quickly (and I sent her several with questions regarding the cabin!). They give you clear and concise check-in and out instructions (including directions with time frames which was very helpful to us since there was a LOT of snow on the ground). Upon check-in, we had a slight problem and both Judy and Grant were on the problem immediately to get it fixed and were truly apologetic. It is obvious that they truly care about their guests and about their guests having an incredible stay. Double D Lodge is the place to stay!! We are looking forward to a return trip in the summer! By the way, the pictures on the website are inaccurate....the place is even BETTER in person!!

  Our group had an amazing stay at this cabin. The Double D Lodge is very comfortable for small and large groups. The amenities including in house stereo system, tvs, beds, kitchen and decor surpassed our expectations of a relaxing get away in lake arrowhead. I highly recommend this location and plan on returning in the near future. Additionally, the owners were very responsive to questions prior to and during our stay.

  Double D was the perfect way to start off our holiday break! Super cozy with a great kitchen. Only 20 min to Snow Valley and only 10 min to Lake Arrowhead! Boys had a blast snowboarding. Family will be staying hear again.

  Thank you so much for letting us rent your cabin for the weekend! My friends and I had an amazing time staying at your place. We all enjoyed the bunk bedroom, which kept all of us very cozy and kept us together reminiscing good times together. The family room and kitchen were perfect! We used the pull out bed during the day in the family room which allowed all of us to relax laying down while watching movies. We spent a lot of time in the kitchen cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner. Having the big table helped us a lot because we enjoy eating all at once with everyone. It was efficient having the half bathroom on the main level and the main bathroom was exceptionally efficient. Since there was so many of us, we did like the fact that the main bathroom had three separate doors so others are able to come in and out without having to wait.

  Staying at the Double D Lodge was great! Judy responded exceptionally fast through e-mails, which was very helpful because I had plenty of questions regarding the cabin. I was worried about the directions there because my group had gotten lost before when we rented a cabin. This location was easy to find, especially since Judy&Grant gave me helpful tips that came with the contract. My group consisted of young adults and had a blast! The pictures shown were very accurate. The kid's room was very cozy, perfect for little kids or teenagers. The bunk bedroom is perfect for a group of friends/families who enjoy long conversations and enjoy each other's company. The kitchen was perfect: all utensils were already supplied. There is enough space for many people assigned to do the cooking. We liked the long table that seats approximately 8 people. My group had more people than 8; we just used the family room table and placed it in the end of the kitchen table and used it as a seat. The family room had enough seating space for a large group to watch television together. I believe that the cabin is perfect for all ages, great for small/big families, group of friends or even a getaway for the older folks! I am really glad that I got a chance to finally stay a the Double D Lodge. Last year, I had chosen this cabin for the same purpose as this trip but my group had decided too late. I am definitely looking forward to staying again for next year!

  What a wonderful, wonderful place to spend a holiday. Our group of eight adults truly felt right at home at this lodge. There was plenty of space to sleep, cook, eat and dance for all of us. Everyone absolutely adored this home. The house is retrofitted with top of the line technology all around - from the multiple flat screen TVs to the awesome sounds system installed in each room. Beyond the home itself, Grant and Judy were absolutely awesome in getting back to us on the dozens of questions which we had before and after the trip. This home is a gem, and at this price, it is also a steal!
