Lovely Stay @ Forsyth Park!
Lovely Stay @ Forsyth Park!

This apartment is very well located, walk out every morning and see the sun streaming through Forsyth Park - beautiful! We strolled everywhere, never using our car except to go to the Bonaventure Cemetary (which is peaceful and worth the visit) and Tybee Island. The apartment is elegant with high quality bed linen and a very comfortable mattress. We were able to walk to Krogers for our groceries and every Sunday we visited the organic market located in Forsyth Park. The apartment is great for couples, its small but very comfortable. One of its best features is that the owners, Brett and Kim, live upstairs therefore nearby if you need anything including great recommendations on what to enjoy while you visit! Thanks Brett for everything! Debbie and Michel, Ottawa, CanadaDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My husband and I stayed here 9/24-9/29 and our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. Whether you've been to Savannah before (or not) this is the most ideal location across from the prettiest park in all of the town, We were able to walk everywhere - from morning till evening. The Park Suite was charming, very comfortable and had everything we needed and more! Before we left, we were already talking about coming back again next year. Just a lovely suite in a perfect location in a fabulous, friendly and vibrant city. We recommend highly! Laura and Spence WolfeOwner response: Hi Laura and Spence, Thank you for the very kind review, I am sorry it took us so long to respond, we were in California all last week. One of the things we love about the vacation rental business and sharing our home is hearing how others have enjoyed our location on the park. It's a very special space and we feel blessed to live here. Thanks again for choosing our home for your visit to Savannah and we would love to have you back next year! We offer all returning guests a 10 % discount. Best, Brett & Kim Turner

We stayed at this charming apartment for our honeymoon in Savannah...it was heaven! The apartment itself is cozy, well-furnished, and beautiful. The location is absolutely perfect...we did drive some of the further places, but you would have been able to walk as well. Thanks Kim and Brett for providing the perfect honeymoon spot for us! We are already talking about coming back for our second anniversary.Owner response: Thanks so much for the kind review. We are so pleased to hear that we were able to help make your honeymoon in Savannah special. We would love to have you back anytime. Congratulations on your marriage and best to you both for a long and happy life together. Brett & Kim Turner

Perfect escape for 5 day getaway to celebrate our 36th wedding anniversary! Immaculate apartment, secure location, ample side street parking, we loved the beautifully appointed Park Suite with all the comforts of home. Nearby Kroger had everything we needed. Forsyth Park across the street is a beautiful haven for strolling by day or night. Kitchen appliances were top notch. Linens were plush and plentiful. Try Pearl’s Saltwater Grill for exceptional seafood at water’s edge. The Oglethorpe Trolley Tour was informational and fun. Thanks to Brett and Kim for being such gracious hosts! We’ll be back!Owner response: Thank you for the kind review, we are so happy that we were able to be part of making your 36th wedding anniversary special! Kim once said while picking out the linens for the park suite "I want to make it just like we would want it if we were staying here" so it so nice to hear that our guests notice all the little touches that she put into it. We feel so lucky to live right on Forsyth Park and are glad that you enjoyed it as we do. Thanks again for choosing our home and please come back to visit again in the future.

My husband and I just returned from a 3 day stay at this perfectly charming flat. It is exactly as the pictures and description depicts and spotlessly clean. It is the perfect size for a couple. We decided last minute to make a trip to Savannah to celebrate our wedding anniversary and to my surprise found this past weekend to be 99% booked. I was lucky to run across this listing and contacted Brett right away. He was speedy with his replies and answered all of my questions & making our reservation giving us a 5% discount for paying cash. (I asked for a discount). We were greeted at the gate by the Turner's pooches who we later forgot even existed (ie. no barking). The flat is on the ground floor of the Turner's grand and beautiful old home with windows facing the beautiful Forsyth Park with a side covered porch. The flat is furnished with antiques and sweet oil paintings providing the charm we look for when we visit Savannah. There is a small sitting area with a ginormous tv and a small table with chairs perfect for a quick breakfast. A pretty non working fireplace filled with candles is a nice touch to the room. A queensized four poster with a comfortable mattress, an oversized leather chair, 2 large closets, and 2 adorable side tables with antique lamps adorn the bedsides making up the bedroom. The compact, upscale kitchen is stocked with a fabulous Keurig and a generous supply of coffee. It has all the requisite glasses, flatware etc. for preparing simple meals if you have a need to. The small bath has everything you need and was spotlessly clean and also stocked with more than an ample supply of basics including shampoo and conditioner. We'd never stayed close to Forsyth Park and had previously considered the area to be too far back in the Historic District-we were completely wrong! The location is actually ideal and the park is stunning. Besides is obvious beauty, it is filled with loads of interesting people and dogs and so much to do and see it's quite a spectacle. We loved walking the park and never, ever felt unsafe or uncomfortable (lots of rumors to the contrary-utter nonsense). If you need a perfectly charming, utterly romantic flat in keeping with the wonderful charm and history in keeping with what Savannahis all about, this flat is your place. You'll be so proud of yourself for choosing it, I know we are. Our sincere thanks to Brett & Kim for sharing a piece of their home with us. We'll no doubt be seeing you again! Deborah & MikeRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This was a very elegant flat with lovely furnishings and original art adorning the walls. The location couldn't be more perfect, overlooking the park and easy walking to all the interesting spots in Savannah. Very comfortable bed too. The owners were most accommodating and friendly to deal with. We took a stroll in the park each evening and had a lovely lunch at the Soho Cafe nearby.Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I stayed in the Park Unit over Labor Day weekend. The hosts were friendly and professional with good communication. The apartment was extremely clean and well-kept. It was a warm weekend but the AC kept up nicely. Savannah was beyond beautiful. It was very easy to find my way around on foot, and I spent a lot of time walking, taking photographs, and reading in the nearby squares and parks. It was nice to come "home" at night to a safe and quiet place. Icing on the cake: a copy of "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" waiting for me in the DVD player. I read the book during my visit and it was fun to see places in the movie then go visit them in person! I would definitely recommend this place, and I hope to return some day.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

The location on Forsyth Park was perfect as was the apartment. Spent 5 nights and was able to walk everywhere in the city. Saw several weddings take place in the park: you could not imagine a more romantic spot. Great restaurants nearby and would recommend 700 Drayton at the Mansion on Forsyth Park - just a short stroll across from the apartment. The hearse ghost tour was fun and the architecture and history of this city is just brilliant. We got chatting to a lady at the farmers market who had lived in Oxford for many years - she said when she returned to USA she could not face living anywhere ugly so chose to re-locate to Savannah.I can understand why. If you choose this apartment you will not be disappointed - it must be one of the best in the city and in the perfect locationRecommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Kim and I feel very fortunate to live right on Forsyth Park, it is truly an amazing experience. We are so happy to be able to share it with our guest. We're happy to hear that you had such a nice time with us. Please come back and visit again sometime. We offer all our returning guests a discount on return visits. Thanks again for the kind review.

Location: The location could not be beat. After spending much time driving and walking around Savannah we feel that the Forsythe Park area is the best place to stay. We walked various areas of the park daily and never tired of its energy. We saw an end of the year school concert in the bandstand, muscians near the fountain and soccer games galore. Strolling the park at different hours changed the views and the houses along the park are some of the best in Savannah. The block where this unit is located is breathtaking. There is a great health food store at one end, some of Savannah's finest restaurants within walking distance and the trolleys all stop near by. They also go by and point out the houses in this block so we felt like we were part of the tour each time we stepped outside! We were concerned about having to use off street parking but just one house away around the corner there are about 16+ spots available on the street and we never had a problem in 4 days and we moved our car daily. Apartment: Lovely and spotlessly clean just as pictured. Someone commented it is not in the house. It is, however, part of the house and not a separate building but you do not access it through the main home. It is a garden apartment in what once was believed to be servants quarters on the lowest level of the home with its own private entrance. The furnishings and decor were lovely. The unit has most everything anyone would need and the couple of things we could think of that travelers/occupants might need that we did not see we mentioned to the owners whom were very receptive of our suggestions. The owners are very nice and were very easy to work with. I just read a comment about the humidity and although things were fine when we were there we did notice the air conditioner ran all the time to keep up. I am sure the owners will keep an eye on this as summer approaches and address accordingly as they were very much on top of things. Overall: We would stay here again in a heartbeat. As history and architecture buffs we felt like we were part of Old Savannah and could not imagine having been in such a lovely city staying in a modern hotel. We had the character and charm we craved with all the modern conveniences, including excellent wifi, that we needed. Who could ask for more? We only wish historic areas of Savannah could be like Mackinac Island with no cars, just horses and bikes allowed with the pedestrians. Now wouldn't that be nice!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for such a thoughtful review! We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay at our home. Living on Forsyth park is magical and we love to hear that our guests also appreciate the experience of the park. We definitely appreciated your suggestions, we picked up an iron, ironing board, measuring cup, mixing bowl and coasters for the guest suite last weekend. Please come and visit us again! Brett & Kim
