Our economical and intimate getaway is situated within a few walking minutes to the happenings of Coral Bay, on the quiet side of the island. At the same time the location offers easy access to Cruz Bay via the ‘dollar bus’. Car rentals are optional. Separate and autonomous, living is simple and independent. The tidy and serene studio is arranged for comfort. The arched door frames your view of the surrounding lush tropical mountain landscape. Enjoy basking in the splendor of the outdoors on the spacious wrap-around deck perched on the upper level to catch the constant island breezes. The driveway is on level ground and makes for trouble-free access and parking. Local landmarks including Skinny Legs, Island Blues and Donkey Diner, are all within easy walking distance. Enjoy plenty of nightly entertainment. You’ll pass the local grocery store and several gift shops along the way—all a simple 5-minute walk. Yoga classes convene several times a week at the Calabash Boom Housing (hitch a ride with the owner/ Marcia). Or if Pilates is your preference, classes are available at the Agricultural pavilion. The VITRAN passes hourly. Two thirds of St. John is a U.S. national park with historic ruins, protected beaches, and hiking trails. Boating, snorkeling, fishing, windsurfing, paddle boarding, surfing, and scuba diving are just some of the adventures that await you. Catch the island shuttle bus, to world-class beaches for the day, hike the many trails on the eastern end of St. John, or head to the bustling town of Cruz Bay--for a dollar. Bars and restaurants, quaint boutiques and island ferry excursions are all conveniently located to the studio.

I stayed in the Island Gardens vacation rental for a week and half at the end of April, and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. It's clean, quiet, airy, well-provisioned, and Marcia and John were very welcoming and accommodating. I had a great time. I didn't rent a vehicle because I intended to spend my time primarily hiking and swimming in the less-touristy bits of the island, and found the location very suitable for that. The bus stops nearby, but don't count on getting a taxi from Cruz Bay to here, unless perhaps you're in a group. When I told Marcia my plan was to spend the second half of my vacation on St Thomas she commented that I would likely miss St John, and she was right - I loved the island and a big part of that was having such a comfortable place to stay. If I have a chance to return to St John I will certainly inquire whether this unit is available.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Being a past resident of St. John who visits as often as possible I was so happy to find the perfect accomodations in Island Dreams. The convenience of easily coming and going as often as I wanted to visit friends or enjoy the beautiful beaches, being able to cook or find awesome restaurants nearby and the privacy and safety of Island Dreams created a wonderful vacation for me. My family chartered a trip with Island Roots which I highly recommend. The owner/host are gracious and respectful. I look forward to enjoying Island Dreams in the future. Thank you!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

My girlfriend and I stayed at John`s and Marcia`s house for a week in December 2012 and had a blast. First of all St. John is a Paradise and I won`t go on with that since I presume people are familiar or at least made a research about the place they are visiting. The house looks even better in person. It is very clean and has everything you need. The area is more than safe. We did not even lock the doors. The owners John and Marcia live nearby and are ready to help with anything you need. I mean they are not only great hosts but really sweet people. They were very respectfull about our privacy and we really felt like at home. The only problem are mosquitos, but that is something you must deal with no matter where you are staying on the island. House is well protected with mosquito nets but still repelant is a must have. I dont think you will find a better deal for the money.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 6/6
