This post industrial space is converted into a 80m2 apartment. It has a 3 meter tall ceiling and large column in the middle. It was previously used as an artist studio. It offers an intimate experience of a home personalized by my own sense of style and design asit used to be my own home. It’s spacious, colorful, cosy and has plenty of individual character. The apartment is furnished with vintage furniture, full of art works and personal, eccentric items.

There is a kids corner with toys and bed for child up to 10 years old. It offers a genuine home feeling with soul no hotel can imitate.

The studio was used earlier as a workshop by a famous Icelandic contemporary artist. Located in the same building is the renowned Icelandic Gallery: I8. The best Coffee Shop in town called Café Haiti is just few steps away. It is an ideal location for tourists located in Midborg, the City Center - the oldest district of Reykjavik, on the beginning of the very old street called Vesturgata where the Vesturbær district starts. Vesturgata is one of the oldest and most picturesque streets of Reykjavik, it is a place where the unique feeling of old Icelandic architecture is still preserved.

If you cross the street and turn to Mjóstræti, you will see some of the oldest, wooden houses of Reykjavik, painted in vivid colors and surrounded with beautiful gardens. Only 15 minutes away from home there is Vesturbæjarlaug (the West town thermal pool at Hofsvallgata) which is one of the favourite swimming pools of Icelanders, open until 21.00. It has hot pots, a thermal steam bath, sauna and sun lamps.

There are endless options for evening city walks: to the pond Tjörnin, Parks and City Hall, Austurvöllur, Ingolfstorg, Reykjavik Harbour. All only 2-3 minutes away. This apartment is an ideal solution during cultural events like Airwaves Music Festival, Reykjavik Film Festival, Culture Night, New Year etc because of it´s central location. The City Library, City Museum, and Museum of Contemporary Art are almost next door not mentioning range of superb restaurants, bakeries, bars, clubs, the weekend flea market Kolaportið and the Tourist Information Center from where you can have easy access to any possible activity in this country.

Nearby cafes offer you free WiFi connection.
The apartment has independent entrance on the street level which makes it suitable for handicapped and convenient for baby carriers.
You can easily get there from the Keflavik International Airport by Flybus that stops opposite the house at the Downtown Youth Hostel stop located on the other side of the street.

My husband and I stayed a week in this specious and charming studio . We could not wish for a better location in Reykjavik and felt very comfortable .The studio is close to many wonderful restaurants and walking distance to all the principall attractions. Karolina was extremly helpful before and after our arrival and made sure we had everything we needed. We recommend this rental very highly.

This apartment is very large, comfortable, and ideal for a single traveller. The owner is a very pleasant person to deal with and makes a great effort to ensure your stay is excellent. She is only a phone call away or email away if you need anything. Location is an additional positive to this apartment . . . only minutes away from the harbour, tourist info office, shopping, or their new concert hall.

The location of this cute and colorful apartment can't be beat! It's right in the downtown area near many museums, cafes, restaurants, shops, the old harbor, etc. Despite this it is very quiet. Karolina was so helpful and easy to work with. I recommend this rental very highly and hope to rent there again very soon.

The large studio space is a real home, so much better than the boutique hotel options we were considering. My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights over New Year (an Icelandic New Year should be experienced by everyone at least once in their lives - you will never see as many fireworks again in 1 hour). The studio is perfectly located for all downtown activities. It was clean and functional, perhaps a little basic for some, but really homely, unique and made our stay even more fun. Karolina gave us a quick personal tour of the area, pointing out restaurants, bars, markets etc. She also helped with the advance planning for New Year before we arrived and answered all the questions we had promptly and with detail. She also recommended the Sea Baron cafe, where the lobster soup will be the best bargain of your stay. [Don't miss the best cheesecake in the world at Fish Market] As it is an open studio you would need to be close friends if there are more than 2 of you but I would recommend this apartment to anyone and we will definitely be returning. We dined at Sea Baron (a bit 'spit and sawdust' but fantastic value), Fish Company (great food), Fish Market (great atmosphere, good quality food, cheesecake to die for) and 3 Overcoats (a fantastic find, wonderful home-cooked Icelandic fare, particularly loved the shark, puffin breast and hashed fish). I would recommend getting a hire car (4x4) which gives you complete freedom to drive around the wonderful scenic roads, with so much more flexibility than you get with the tour buses. We had a wonderful 4 days, but need to come back for at least a 10-day stay to get just the 'highlights' of sights and attractions completed, let alone shopping and just relaxing in this friendly, clean-air, refreshing country.

If you are looking for something exciting and out of the ordinary while in Reykjavík, this is the place to stay! A colourful and cozy place to call home temporarily with a lot of character, comfort and freedom. All the necessities included, the location could not be better and Karolina is incredibly helpful!

We had an excellent stay in this apartment. It is warm, a lot of light, quiet, big enough for the 4 of us to be comfortable. The location is perfect, exactly downtown Reykjavik. We had a great time. And the owner has made everything for our stay to be enjoyable. What else can you ask?

We had a great time staying in this VERY LARGE studio. The location couldn't be more central, steps from downtown and the harbor. The owner was very helpful and a joy to meet.

          Owner info

About the owner: My name is Karolina Boguslawska, and I have lived in Reykjavik since I was six years old. Iceland was my love at first sight and I missed this country until I moved back here in 2004. I'm an art historian and I teach art history in Reykjavik Art School. Occasionally I work for theaters and in the film industry, among other things, in scenography, stylization and costume departments. I'm also the mom of a six year old boy who is a great painter and his works are hanging all over in the apartment. I take part in artistic projects. Iceland is a magical place to come for a visit.

          Why the Owner Chose Reykjavik:
This is the best place to be if you like socially and culturally active life style. Pure water and city with no smog and the proximity nature that is just only 30 minutes drive away from here.

The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
Beautiful and quiet apartment in the exact center of Reykjavik, where everything is happening.
