Charming Key West-style home in the Clearwater development. The home is perfect for couples or small families wanting to get away by yourself. Home is completely furnished and well appointed in a community with many amenities. It is on a very quiet street and backs to a protected wetland area. It perfect spot for a relaxing vacation just minutes from all the activities in the Quiet Resort of Bethany Beach.
This Non-Smoking home is available weekly during the summer or week-long or weekends during shoulder seasons and off seasons. Rates vary by season.
The living room has a comfy sofa and two great chairs. You will find cable TV, a DVD player and a stereo. We have added a cable modem and wireless router for 2011. Comfortable furnishings will help those leisure hours slip away. For rainy days, there are dvd's, books, games and puzzles to amuse yourself with.
The home has two bedrooms. The master has a queen-size bed and a half bath. This room also has a second cable TV. The other bedroom has twin beds. A full bath is at the center of the house. There is a "fold-a way" bed in the closet for your use.
You will find a complete kitchen including a microwave and a "crab pot" for those adventurous ones who want to enjoy the area crabbing. Dishes, glasses, flatware, pots, pans, utensils and a coffee maker are provided for your use.
The wooded wetlands provide a vibrant background for the outdoor part of the house. The home has a screened porch and deck on the "wetland" side of the house. There you will find a table for outdoor dining, a gas grill, and lounge furniture surrounded by tall pines and wonderful sounds. This home is "pet friendly" and there is a small fenced area for your friend to wander on his/her own.
The community has a swimming pool and tennis courts. Public beaches are available at the Delaware Seashore Park and the Fenwick Island State Park. Public beaches are also available in Bethany Beach and South Bethany. Bethany has a beautiful beach and a wealth of restaurants and shops. You are also close to the sport fishing boats at Indian River Inlet Delaware and Ocean City, Maryland. You are near the 140 tax-free outlet stores at Rehobeth Beach. There is nightlife up and down the coast everyday the year. You are also near the Assawoman Wildlife Refuge. You will find numerous watercraft rental availabilities on the nearby inland bays.

We are full time residents of the Bethany Beach area and have this property as our only rental unit. We are both locally employed and have two college age daughters. We have the unit as a "pet friendly" house because we won't go anywhere without our curly coated retriever, Dewey.

An Off-Season Gem!

My husband, dog and I visited Bethany Beach over the Thanksgiving holiday and it was a treat to be able to call this property home for a few days. The pictures and description were true to what we found when we arrived (if anything, the place was cuter than the pictures depicted). The property is extremely well-maintained; the floors, appliances and furniture are all like new which is unusual both for a beach-proximate property as well as a dog-friendly property. The instructions provided by the owner were timely and thorough, and you can't beat the very reasonable price charged for a property in such good condition. This isn't a property for everyone, though - it's perfect for a couple, but too small for an active family; and it may be too far from the beach for some - but if you are looking for an off-the-beaten-path retreat that still is easy driving access to Bethany Beach, Rehoboth Beach, Lewes, and/or Ocean City, then you should submit an inquiry to Don. We easily visited the Assateague and Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuges (separate days) from this location, and outlet shopping was only a 20-minute drive away. I am trying to persude my parents to visit next!

Quaint Comfortable Beach Cottage Home explains more than these words could ever begin to relate. We have a Puggle which is half Pug and Half Beagle. The property was pet friendly and this is the first attraction I had when looking for a rental for my husband and I to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I thought we would never find anything to compare to the home in a near by town that we were so comfortable in with all the thanks going to our parents for all the years they maintained it in the past. With that being said I was delighted and shocked when we stayed at the rental. We could not have asked for anything more except to stay here again in the future and possibly work toward a cottage like this to call our own. The pictures attached and the description are spot on. I was concerned about the 15 steps to enter the cottage due to my husband's recent surgery and our pet unfamiliarness since our home only has carpeted steps inside. The steps were wide in width and narrow in depth. The outdoor steps proposed no problem but gave all three of us added exercise. I was unfortunately a victim of a situation and this is the first strange home I have stayed in since then. My dog and I enjoyed many daily walks in the community without my husband's accompaniment. My husband was concerned the first evening my dog and I ventured out after dark. I explained to him when we returned after 30 minutes that I had an overwhelming peace that we were in safe surroundings. Regardless of the time of day my dog and I walked we found the other residents quite friendly and hospitable. My dog also made some very nice friends. One particular was a long haired datchund! Her owner and I became frequent greeters during our walks. That's how welcome we felt. Minutes away from restaurants and grocery stores and retail shopping malls, we found it a pleasure to go and enjoy the familiar places we had so enjoyed in the past as well as the new areas we explored. Since we were minutes from the beach we enjoyed walking, picking up shells and gems, and taking pictures of the vast beautiful waves. Quiet evenings and romantic meals of lobster spent at the cottage were very special. The cost of this rental is also quite reasonable. Children or another couple staying with us would not have been an inconvenience. The cottage is very nicely decorated and spacious. Thank you!

My husband, two pugs and I have stayed at the cottage two years in a row and we’re heading back for our third year this summer. This is the perfect beach cottage. It’s bright, nicely decorated, and has everything we need. We especially love the screened in porch which backs up onto a green space. It’s so peaceful to sit out there listening to the birds. The neighborhood is quiet and an excellent place to go for a walk or a swim in the pool. The beach is a 10 minute drive away and everything else in the area is also close by. The owner of the cottage, Don, is a pleasure to deal with. He’s friendly, organized and helpful. We highly recommend this Bethany Beach cottage!
