Affordable Studio unit, pied d’terre, one bath, kitchenette, Queen size bed located in the Palm Beach Hotel Condominium at 235 Sunrise Avenue, a National Historic Landmark, one and half blocks to the beach, between the Breakers and the Biltmore, two blocks from Royal Poinciana and bike/walking trail, Publix across the street with deli takeout, convenient walk to a dozen excellent restaurants and cafes, banks, pharmacy, night life, French pastry shops, bike/moped rentals, churches and synagogues. It’s a ten minute taxi ride (approximately $20) from West Palm Beach International Airport. Rent by the week, month or season; rates progressively reduced the longer you stay.
Palm Beach is an American version of the Cote d’Azur, except here the weather is better. It is safe and secure walking any time of day. High season is December to April. But even in the Summer the climate is tempered by ocean breezes. Frommer’s Travel Guide describes it as follows:
“…Palm Beach, the small island town across the Intracoastal Waterway, that has been the traditional winter home of America's aristocracy -- the Kennedys, the Rockefellers, the Pulitzers, the Trumps, titled socialites, and plenty of CEOs. For a perspective on what it means to put on the ritz, there is no better place than Palm Beach, where teenagers cruise around in their parents' Rolls-Royces while socialites seem to jump out of the glossy pages of society magazines and into an even glitzier real life. It's something to be seen, despite the fact that some may consider it all over the top and, frankly, obscene….”
My studio unit is located in the heart of this Oasis. It is fully furnished, includes a microwave, small refrigerator/freezer, coffee maker, plates, glasses and utensils, A/C, one bath/shower/toilet, all utilities, cable Flat Screen TV with DVD and all hotel amenities. It’s on the second floor convenient to the two elevators, ice maker, and includes maid service once a week. The studio is non-smoking and the hotel does not allow pets. The hotel has a convenient laundry room with coin operated washer and dryers in the basement. Phone for local calls at $2.00/day if you are not using your cell and wireless DSL.

This unit is perfect for a single person or couple. If you don’t want to pay for or can’t afford a room at the Breakers, the Chesterfield or the Brazilian Court, my condo unit is the best bargain on Palm Beach. The PBH Condo is newly renovated and has all the facilities offered at the pricey luxury alternatives. Mediterranean Revival in architecture, a beautiful heated outdoor pool set in a tropical garden, a classic loggia perfect for resting and relaxation overlooking Sunrise, new restored hotel lobby, mezzanine, library, all with high speed DSL wireless connected throughout, 24 hour staffed reception desk, on site management and AC throughout all common areas. You don't need a car, but if you come with one, and if you do not want to park on the street, an off street parking space can be arranged for a fee.

This studio apartment contained all the necessities for an extended stay and was particularly convenient to the ocean, the lake trail, restaurants and a grocery store. The hotel's staff was excellent and the entire setting was very secure. We spoke to and emailed the owner a number of times and he was very helpful and accomodating. As rookies at VRBO, we didn't quite know what to expect, but we were not disappointed in any way.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing.

About the owner: I am retired and have lived on Cape Cod for the last 40 years. I bought this Condo because it is in a great location, beautiful building, with access to all kinds of conveniences, the beach and bike path, the resources I love. And it is so easy to get there quickly from any major airport. Some unit owners live there year round and others for the season, and they are all so friendly and helpful. During the winter, I live in central Mexico so I rent this property out.
