Our stay was wonderful! Every positive thing the other guest have written are true! The pictures do not do this place justice. It was much bigger in person than I thought it would be. It's so nice to be able to look out on the balcony and see the beach and to have the boardwalk right out your front door. While the beach is much wider than most a bonus about the boardwalk itself is that its flat. Many other beaches on 30a have steep stairs to get to the beach which would have made it very difficult for some folks with a bad knee or even carrying gear to and from the beach. The 3 bedrooms upstairs were a great size and absolutely loved that they had their own bathrooms. Loved the washer dryer on the 2nd floor as well. Kids loved the spacious bunk room and there was an outlet on the top bunk for them to plug in their electronics. First floor closet had some beach gear like boogie boards so be sure to check that before you go and buy accessories because you may find you don't need to. Bought some cheap chairs and umbrellas at the grayton general store for the beach and just tossed them at the end. So fun to ride bikes there and do every imaginable activity. Easy to get to Seaside if you want more hustle and bustle. Owner super nice and helpful too which I appreciated so much!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, families with young children, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We stayed in this lovely home in May, 2010, for a family reunion of four adult couples. Everyone had privacy in their bedrooms and bathrooms, and the public areas (kitchen, living room, porches) were large, comfortable, and still cozy. It was perfect. The location was great, we could walk to everything, the house was completely furnished with everything we needed. I would certainly stay here again.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This beach house is really a fabulous find. We stayed here for 5 days at the end of September and felt very pampered. The layout of the house is spacious and suitable for extended family members or friends who prefer the privacy of their own room, with the comforts of sharing a living space; upstairs rooms have their own bathroom and bed (bunk beds and single bed downstairs for the kids). There are fans in each room, televisions, and AC controls for both floors. The hardwood floors give it a warm and comfortable feeling. The living room is spacious with oversized sofas and chairs. The kitchen is fully equipped with large refrigerator, and ice maker. The house seemed clean and well cared for. Of course, one of the best things is the secluded location! It was relaxing to be so close to the shore and not find the crowds that accompany most beaches. The house has an upstairs and downstairs deck with great views of the beach. The boardwalk is just a few feet from the house. There are showers on the boardwalk, and on the outside of the house. The communal pool is really pretty and only two houses down, about a 30 second walk from the house. I can’t say enough about this house. This is really a fabulous place to stay. I know my family felt comfortable staying here. In fact, we never went anywhere else; the beach and pool were right there and we enjoyed our early morning walks, and spending the afternoons at the beach and pool. There are restaurants nearby; I even saw a Coke vending machine around the corner :) But we did our own cooking with a Publix about 10 minutes up the road. Definitely recommend this place. We came with four small children and all of them had enough room to run and play.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Everything in the description is legitimate. This house is ideal if you want the perfect location for vacation time. You cannot quite see it from the picture but the house is only one house away from the pool and walking distance to the beach! (about 1 minute) The 1st floor is wide open. We went with kids and it was great! The furniture is so nice that you can sit and relax your feet in the ottoman. The kitchen is also spacious, sometimes we were 3 cooking at the same time with no problem. The deck is ideal for a nice lunch or to relax listening to the ocean The rooms are very very spacious, we had room for the pack and play and still had space left for a private play area. I highly recommend this amazing property!!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We stayed at the house with two other couples for a friends' weekend. All three upstairs bedrooms have a king bed and private bathroom so the house was perfect. Guys went fishing on one of the boats that puts out right on the beach, steps from the house. Seaside Beach and Watercolors is just a bike ride away, and so we went to Wine Shop there for wine tasting. Huge kitchen table and open kitchen meant that we were able to all hang out together. Will definitely go back. GREAT PLACE.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We love this place. House is perfect for a fun filled vacation. We had kids fron infancy to 19 and adults from thirties to sixties. Lots of space for everyone. We had fun drinking, cooking, eating and playing together. The dune lake and beachs offered great skim boarding, swimming and surfing for all. Close to everything. House is in excellent condition with well equipped kitchen. The ice maker was a great plus. Will definitely go back.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This was a fabulous vacation home. We have stayed here 3 times and would never stay anywhere else. The layout is awesome with the open kitchen and great room. There is a huge bedroom downstairs great for kids wonderful privacy upstairs with 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. You can be together as a family or go find your own place on 1 of the 2 decks on the house. It is so close to the beach and the Red Bar. You can walk to Seaside about 15 minutes or ride a bike. The house has all the necessities of home but still the serenity of being away. I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a great vacation and wonderful memories!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We have rented this home for 2 years. It is great for a large family with varying ages of children. Seconds to the stunning beach, tweens & teens will love skim boarding on the dune lakes. The private community pool is clean and a good change for younger children. The house is fabulous! Everything you could need is in the kitchen, Massive refrigerator, separate ice maker, microwave, stove, and cabinet space. Dining room will seat everyone! Hugh table with additional kitchen bar seating. Bedrooms are very nicely sized and all feature their own full bath. Master bedroom has its own doors to the upper deck and an extra single bed for little ones. Steps to the famous Red Bar and minutes to Watercolors. Cannot wait to go back! We LOVE going "Down By the Sea"!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.

We really enjoyed our stay. We loved how it was right on the beach but we also had the fresh water lake and pool to enjoy too. It was also fun how the house was private and relaxing but if we felt like some night life, it was just an easy walk to The Red Bar for some good food and live bands. We had a great time! We would definitely recommend Down by the Sea to our friends and we will be coming back soon!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
