A vacation at Villa Blanca is truly like having a boutique hotel all to yourself in the middle of San Miguel’s historic center. Be among the first to book a rental at this luxurious hillside villa, which was totally re-built in 2010 by one of San Miguel's premier modern architects.

Upon entering the Villa you will be transported from the colorful streets of San Miguel to the white, sun-drenched open spaces of the Mediterranean. Villa Blanca is a four bedroom, six bathroom modern home in the town's most prime location, three blocks up from the Jardin. There is no other rental property in the historic center that offers this level of style and sensual sophistication combined with a perfectly central location and incomparable views of the city and countryside.

The villa is laid out like a boutique hotel with four separate suites, all with their own modern baths and outdoor patios. Elle Décor’s ‘Taste Maker’ designer Anne-Marie Midy (Of Casamidy) created the sleek, sexy living spaces and custom designed modern furniture for the house . Every room is as comfortable as it is architecturally beautiful, with cozy fireplaces and unique touches such as a steam shower, wood-burning pizza oven, grilling patio, outdoor shower and meditation room.

There are two stunning and equally romantic master suites with King beds, gas fireplaces and walk-in closet. One master bathroom has two sinks and a beautiful glass-doored rain shower with adjoining full bath that opens onto a terrace with a reading nook, hammock, sun chaises and an outdoor shower. The upper master suite has a spa den, with a Moroccan style daybed, steam shower and meditation room. The doors open onto a paved terrace with sun chaises and panoramic views stretching out to the countryside. You can relax in bed and watch the sun rise or set over the picturesque steeples and hills of San Miguel or enjoy this same vista from the vintage claw foot tub in the bathroom.

In addition to the two master suites, there are two, smaller guest suites with queen beds, brand new modern bathrooms and private patios. One of the guest suites is ground-level and the other is upstairs.

The modern kitchen has a center island with high-backed stools for casual dining. There is a purified water system, dishwasher, professional 6-burner range and wood-burning pizza oven. Enjoy your meals in the formal dining room while listening to the soothing stone fountain in the courtyard or relax with a book in the stunning, light-filled living room in front of the fireplace.

The Villa has three levels of outdoor patios including the "Club Terrace,” which has both fire and water elements and stunning views, providing the perfect backdrop for relaxing or dining al fresco. By day, you can enjoy a cold beer with your comida from the outdoor kitchen with BBQ grill and then cool off in the outdoor shower after tanning on the sun chaises. In the evening, dine on the cozy couches in front of the outdoor fireplace and light up the stone fountain to create the perfect ambiance for a cocktail gathering.

Villa Blanca is perfect if you have guests who want to enjoy some privacy by having their own casita. If you won't be requiring so many guest rooms, it is also possible to reduce the rental rate by not using the upper master suite and spa den.

Gorgeously chic retreat!

We still talk about our time spent in this gorgeous home! So chic and filled with art, my family and I felt like we had stepped into another world everyday when we walked through the doors. I love the outdoor spaces, the BBQ area was particularly awesome, and you cannot beat the location. Every bedroom/suite is uniquely decorated and private - a perfect retreat. I LOVE San Miguel de Allende and would stay at this home again in a heartbeat!

Amazing house in the center of San Miguel

Guest: Delphine (New York, USA)
Date of Stay: 09/04/11 Review Submitted: 10/03/11

I was invited to stay with friends in San Miguel de Allende and discovered this amazing place... It is extremely well located, couple of blocks from El Jardin in a charming little street, that makes it easy to walk and get anywhere. The house is extremely elegant and stylish (Loved the pictures and furniture!). It has tons of modern ameneties and yet a very Mexican feel. The house is very spacious, with a lot of different levels and outdoor spaces. It get tons of light, and great views on San Miguel de Allende. We absolutely LOVED every minute we spent in this house (and the kids loved it too!). Amazing vacations! Cannot wait to go back...

Truly Unbelievable Rental!

Guest: Jamie (SF, CA)
Date of Stay: 08/20/10 Review Submitted: 11/11/10

This house is seriously beyond words - it has recently been completely renovated and it has managed to maintain old world San Miguel charm with 100% modern amenities. You feel like you are staying in a boutique hotel. It is perfectly located - walking distance to the main square - with a gorgeous view of the whole city from the upper terrace. The patio area is perfect for hanging out and relaxing and the bedrooms are gorgeous. I seriously almost didn't write this review because I would like to keep this jewel a secret but it is too good to keep all to my family!

perfect stay in san miguel

we spent 8 days as a guest in the upper bedroom facility. The view of the surrounding area is amazing. ; the amenities are perfect and you really have the feeling of being away from it all; and yet the location is perfect, very central to the town, with two small bodegas a block away and many restaurants nearby. The kitchen, living room, dining room and all other bedrooms are well appointed and equipped. Perfect for two families.

Fantastic surprise and stunning vistas

Guest: Maximo Sartorio (Milano)
Date of Stay: 08/01/10 Review Submitted: 08/17/10

I must confess that this Villa surprised us tremendously... (spoiled) world travelers that we are. My self even more than my wife, who loved it so much she insisted we stayed one extra week than originally planned. I can't determine exactly what did it for me. If it was the elegant, sensuous and sophisticated interior design, the perfect balance of colors, the Mediterranean modern architecture in rare harmony with the Andalucian colonial original characteristics or the comfort of the gorgeous beds. The beautiful light and the continuous sound of water through the outside spaces might have something to do with it as well. We felt we had found our dream vacation boutique hotel with the benefit of having it all to ourselves alone. I liked it so much I made an offer to buy it!! We couldn't decide which suite we liked to sleep in most. So we traded between the stunning lower casa master bedroom (with its spacious and warm white vaulted ceilings and cool blue velvet headboard) or the stunning views of San Miguel's historical centro and valley the upper casa master offered). We did it all! Mexican breakfast by the burning wood fire oven in the kitchen, great lunches at the main dinning room, early evening drinks watching the sunset from the upper casa and dinner feasts at the lounge level by the outside fire place. It felt just like back home in Tuscany... but in the charming and beautiful mountains of Mexico. This villa was so beautiful we often struggled to get out the door. It felt very much like San Miguel was our garden and the strolls at night was all we managed to do most days. Life can be hard sometimes, no?! I haven't seen many places like this in my 30 years of professional travel. Lucky that I am, a luxury travel adviser for an Italian fashion conglomerate. So... enough said. If you value your money and are looking for luxury, elegance and privacy this Villa would be my 'hot tip' in San Miguel de Allende! Enjoy the views and the margaritas!

Absolutely perfect...beautiful villa!

Guest: lilly (san diego)
Date of Stay: 07/01/10 Review Submitted: 08/06/10

stepping into this property, we couldn't believe that it looked even better than the photos! everything was gorgeously styled and designed...we felt like we were living in a magazine shoot. the house staff was incredibly warm and helpful, all the rooms were carefully planned and designed for total privacy and comfort. the details were amazing - the towels were luxurious, fireplaces in every room, 6 brand new bathrooms, clawfoot tub. my parents visited and stayed in the downstairs casita and were so comfortable too. the terrace with the outdoor fireplace and BBQ is magical at night - we had so many fantastic dinners and cocktails gazing up at the stars. this is the perfect house for design lovers and people who want a tranquil vacation with indoor-outdoor living. the location is the best - just steps from the jardin and the best restaurants in town.

stylish get away

As a frequent visitor to SMA I was delighted to have found this amazing place. The architecture is well laid out and every room has its own private area. The interiors are full of details and unique custom furnishings done by a well-known local designer. The house is flooded with natural light and its superbly located in " centro" but apart from the noise. I think the best thing about renting a home in SMA is that it offers a unique experience not easily afforded by a hotel. This home in particular is full of details that will allow you to maximize your experience.
