Situated just three blocks from the town center, "Villa Barranca" is truly an ideal location for your stay in San Miguel. The house is a gem which features traditional colonial Mexican architecture including large arched doorways, adobe walls, and twenty-five foot ceilings complete with gorgeous views that overlook the entire city and surrounding countryside.
The house has been fully renovated and redecorated by the new owners to highlight both its Mexican colonial features and their love for modern, sleek design. They have also added modern conveniences of cable TV, a DVD player, and bought new bedding and down quilts for all of the rooms.
The charm of Villa Barranca is in the layout of the house and the magnificent grounds of the beautiful property. The large living room, which features high ceilings and beautiful archways, is comfortable both for entertaining and relaxing at the end of the day. It is adjacent to a dining room, as well as large sunny eat-in kitchen. Glass doors from the kitchen take you to an outdoor dining area perfect for breakfast time.
Upstairs, the master bedroom has a gas fireplace and looks out over the private patio, which boasts a soothing rock garden and fountain. There are also two additional bedrooms: one adjacent to the master bedroom suite, perfect for children or a weekend guest. The other bedroom is a romantic guest cottage with a full bed and bath, which has a private entrance off the outdoor patio.
At the back of the property is a rock-covered solarium, private roof deck and covered living room/sala with a large hammock, perfect for taking in the sun, reading in the shade or drinking a margarita at sunset.
