This property met and exceeded our family's expectations. The decor was tasteful and up to date. The property was very clean. The master suite on the first level was perfect for Meemaw, and the two bedrooms on the third level provided enough space for each of us to retreat for peace and quiet. The kitchen was equipped with basics- plenty to prepare our quickie vacation meals. The complex where the town home was located, was very quiet and well maintained. We never had the opportunity to use the pool. My only suggestion would be drapes/curtains in the bedrooms, both for heat and light control. Otherwise, this vacation rental is perfect!

Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

Owner response: I am so fortunate to have housekeepers with standards as high as my own, which leads to almost every guest commenting that the house is very clean. I've had e-mails in the past from people who have arrived in resort and found the unit they've rented is dirty in the hope that they can get into mine "last minute" instead. Not a good start to a vacation! On arrival you will find clean towels folded ready for use in each bathroom and the beds freshly made up with white linens. All of the bedrooms have window blinds.

My husband, son and mother stayed here in February 2013. We loved the split level bedrooms. It allowed separation for my mother and us. My 1 year old had a crib, high chair and stroller provided. This was the first time we rented a condo versus staying on property at Disney. The unit was very clean and well equipped with extra towels, dish soap, dish detergent, etc. We weren't at the unit very much but it was nice to come back to a big space where everyone had their own room and space. Would definitely rent from here again.

We spent three nights in this property just before New Year's and were very pleased and very comfortable. We had two Grandparents, two teenage boys and my wife and I. With 3 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms we had plenty of room. I also worked out at the club fitness room which was nice. The pool area was awesome - just too cold to swim while we were there.

Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

Owner response: The pool at Vista Cay is heated year round but it was disappointing for this guest that the weather wasn't good for swimming.

Review submitted to management company web-site. We turned this beautiful townhome into our "home for the holidays"! It was beautiful and so well kept. The three levels allowed our all-adult family to spread out or to be together. We even cooked a Turkey dinner with all of the trimmings for Christmas Eve dinner. The location is splendid! It is just far enough away from Disney to escape the crazy crowds. The Vista Cay resort is quiet and peaceful. Then, just a short drive away, you can almost any store or restaurant on International Drive. Thank you, Ruth and company, for making our Christmas wishes come true! We hope to spend future holiday seasons here too!

We stayed at your place right before Christmas and everything was great. We did quite a bit of cooking and even made a gingerbread houses .... we are young at heart! We really enjoyed a day to Winter Park .... but the trip to Florida Mall was terrible ... I couldn't believe the traffic. We're rather spoiled in Melbourne. Thanks for providing such a lovely place at a good value and thoughtful responses to my questions. Search on Facebook for "fabtownhome" to see a photo of the gingerbread houses and other views of the house and area.

Just got back from our vacation wanted to write a quick review. Our family of 5 really enjoyed our stay at Vista Kay. The layout was great for our group. Two bedrooms on the third floor, main living area on the second level and another bedroom on the ground floor. This proved to perfect set up as some wanted to stay up later and some wanted to go to bed early. The town house was fully decorated and everything was of high quality. We have stayed at other houses before and it more of a rental property. You could tell there was some real pride of ownership here. We never once heard a car door or the people next door. The property was well managed and well orgininized!

Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Owner response: If you've ever stayed in a hotel and had a room next to the lifts/ ice maker or have been woken by other guests running along the hall you'll appreciate the difference at Vista Cay. The houses have excellent sound insulation between the units and the resort itself has a quiet laid back feel. However there's no compromise on location. It's easy to get to the parks,airport,freeways and restaurants/shops of I Drive and Sandlake Road.

PERFECT PLACE FOR A FAMILY

Our family stayed at this villa for four nights. It was SO nice! Spacious, beautiful, well equipped and in a great location for the parks (Universal, Disney) and great shopping was not far away either. There are two sets of stairs but that was not a problem for our family...in fact it was nice bedroom separation! The owner was really great to work with and checkin and out was a delight! No standing in lines! If your family is needing some great space to unwind this is the place for you!! Publix supermarket, Walgreens, Pizza and Chinese take out very close by and good!

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

Owner response: Our house is fitted with a "Kabba" security locking system. The system generates a unique code for each guest which we provide by e-mail a few days before travel. The benefits are that nobody else can access the house during your stay and there's no need for a formal check in. Just go straight to the house!

We love Vista Cay and probably won't ever stay anywhere else. The location is so great, the community is quiet, and there is a Publix just outside the gate. This particular unit was very clean and supplied well with dish soap, t.p, trash bags, etc.. Owner is extremely easy to work with too.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

The townhouse was right around the corner from the convention center which is the reason we stayed there. There is plenty of restaurants on International drive and Publix is right around the corner. The home was comfortable and well stocked with proper supplies. It had enough room to accomodate 5 adults and entertain us with cable tv and free wifi. It was our 2nd year we stayed in the developement and it will not be our last.

We rented this 3 story, 3 bedroom, 3 bath condo for a week and absolutely loved it! The price was less than we would have had to pay for a hotel, the furnishings were beautiful and everything was well stocked, right down to board games and books. There was even a pack and play and a high chair, which we didnt need, but would have been handy. Walgreens is right nearby, and open late, convenient since the grocery store that is nearby was always closed by the time we got in from the parks. It was nice having our own driveway, no hunting for parking like we do at hotels. Clubhouse and pool area were well kept and convenient. The location is great. we did Disney and Universal, and drove to the Gulf for a day trip. Would highly recommend, and will rent again when we get the chance.

This was by far the best place we have ever stayed, very clean , very spacious ,we love the fact that the kids had there own rooms and privacy. It's also right on Universal Blvd. and only a few minutes from International drive . The only thing I see that would help would be having driving directions printed out for all who come and visit. We will be telling all our friends about Ruth's Home and about using HomeAway.

Owner response: All paperwork is carried out by my super efficient Management company. Their web-site features detailed information about Vista Cay including driving directions. I have made a note to direct my guests to this page just before their stay commences.

This was such a great place to stay. Had everything we needed and was close to the convention center, Sea World and Universal. The pool area is spacious with lots of seating in the sun or in the shade.

Owner response: The management at Vista Cay have recently invested heavily on the pool area. We have taken delivery of new pool furniture, gym equipment and pool heaters.

This was a great deal for as much house as you get. We were traveling with an almost 2 year old and it was perfect. It was a very short drive to all the parks and it was in a gated community. Could not have had a better stay. I highly recommend for families with small kids.

Owner response: Families are very welcome. I provide a highchair, Pack N' play and folding stroller. If little one's are "on the move" however they need to be confident on stairs as there are 2 long flights. There is a lovely children's pool with deck area near the clubhouse.

We spent the entire month of February at this townhouse. The unit is exactly as advertised and priced right. Outstanding location for all of Central Florida Coast to Coast. Beaches, Museums and Art Gallerys in addition the the usual attractions well within a reasonable drive. Easy on/off expresways.

Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing.

Perfect Experience From Start to Finish!

My daughter and I had a fantastic vacation in Orlando between Christmas and New Years and this townhouse played a huge role in making our trip so special. Ruth, the owner, is quick to respond to questions and inquiries. I could tell it was important to her that we have a great vacation. The value could not have been better. The cost for the week was approximately $200 less than comparable places and this townhouse is so lovely, I can't believe an extra $200 would have gotten me anything better. The location was perfect. Vista Cay is off a quiet section of Universal Boulevard, so you don't get the traffic and congestion, but it's only a mile from the activity of International Boulevard. The resort community is very low key and quiet. There were people in the townhouses on either side of us, but I never heard them. There's a shopping center next door with a Publix and Pizza and Chinese restaurants. All the essentials at your fingertips. The townhouse is well appointed and tastefully decorated. There were a few minor maintenance issues when we arrived. The management company called me within 10 minutes of receiving my email about the problems and they were resolved the same day. Ruth also followed up with me and called the management company to confirm they were on top of everything. First class service all around. The townhouse is convenient to Universal Studios, the Disney Parks, and Sea World. You're not living in the midst of the craziness that can surround those parks, but yet it's only a 10-15 minute drive to get to them. The townhouse is also convenient to the great outlet malls in Orlando. I can't recommend Ruth's townhouse enough. It will definitely be the place I'll stay next time I'm in Orlando.

Owner response: I encourage guests to bring maintenance issues to our attention sooner rather than later. Because my property managers are "on site" we can normally rectify problems straight away leaving the guest free to enjoy their vacation. In this case a few batteries and a sink plunger were all that was needed.

Except for some minus circumstantial details, it was a very nice experience staying at this place.

Owner response: My House has just been painted on the outside as part of the regular maintenance programme on Vista Cay. It's now looking fresh and fabulous! The work caused my guest some inconvenience however and I have made him a partial refund as a gesture of goodwill.

Just returned to Uk from the most amazing holiday in Orlando. I can not fault my holiday at all and Ruths home that I rented was beautiful. The property is so clean and spacious and decorated to a really high standard, I particulary loved the open planned kitchen and lounge. The beds were so big and comfy and there were plenty of clean towels and bed linen alongside beach towels. The house is close to all of the theme parks, we spent a week at Disney which is a 20minute drive and Universal is only 10 mins away. We also went to all the water parks but it was lovely to spend evenings at the pool a Vista cay which is open till 11 every night. We made it a ritual to go there every night and catch up with other holiday makers and locals. International Drive is a few mins away where you can findevery type of food plac you could want however we liked to drive a little further to the chessecake factory which is amazing This has been one of my all time favourite holidays, I can not recommend this home enough and uth is so helpful. She provided with all the info needed pre and post booking. Thank you Ruth - My holiday was the best x

Owner response: There are literally hundreds of restaurants from fast food chains to fine dining within a few minutes drive. The cheesecake factory is at The Mall at Millenia, a high end shopping mall about 10 minutes away from the house.

We stayed for a two week period in mid-July and very much enjoyed it. The house: We were given gate codes to enter the resort and a code to access the key box by the front door, so no hanging about in reception somewhere while someone found our details. We had to simply pop to the clubhouse to collect our pass at our convenience afterwards. Upon arrival we were greeted by a useful welcome pack which Ruth's management company had left. I cannot emphasise quite how clean this house was, it was immaculate, not a mark or speck of dust anywhere across three floors. We found it to be well equipped; TVs in every room, a Wii, huge amounts of towels (including pool towels), cleaning items, etc. Some books and games too were a nice touch. Bathrooms were large and functioned well. Bedrooms were spacious, well laid out and comfortable (especially the large beds). We were unsure about the bedroom on the ground floor being so far away from us up top, but our daughters loved the space (12 + 13). We stayed on the top floor with the younger two in their own beds (7 + 10), with sister-in-law "relegated" to the sofa bed, but that too was both very spacious and comfortable, so not really a comprimise. The resort: Overall quiet and very managed. We vactioned whilst there wasn't a big convention going on, so this would have made a difference. The pool is a five minute walk from the house, and it was always immaculately clean and although not supervised, clubhouse staff had no hesitation on coming out tell a pair of teenage boys to settle down when slightly rowdy. An "incident" in the pool meant it was closed off one evening, but we were advised of an alternative to use close-by if we wanted without charge, which was a nice touch. There's a small Wallgreens on-site, with Publix just a minute or two away in the car. The location: We were in Orlando to make the most of the non-Disney theme parks, and this made the location pretty perfect as the house is nestled between Seaworld/Aquatica and Wet'n'Wild/Universal. As you're off I-Drive it may not be great for all if you don't drive, but as I don't drink that wasn't an issue. To be honest, you're not exactly a million miles away and you should be able to get back from I'Drive for $5+ depending on your starting point. Overall, between first contact with Ruth and getting home we were impressed from start to finish. Thanks for a lovely holiday Ruth, we hope to be back soon and will be in touch!

Owner response: The busiest time on Vista Cay is undoubtedly Easter Weekend but even then none of the communal areas seem overcrowded. Large conventions tend to be in the winter months when there are less holidaymakers and those visitors spend most of the daylight hours at the convention centre anyway. In other words Vista Cay is welcome relief from the crowds at the theme parks year round. The welcome pack containing cleaning items is a new idea from my management company. The cost of these items I have decided to absorb myself rather than pass it on to guests.

Just wanted to let you know that we enjoyed staying in your unit at Vista Cay. It was absolutely perfect. We were very pleased. The shower doors in the lower master suite were off the tracks but that was not a problem. I will definately be recommending your place to all of my friends who visit Orlando. Note from owner. Those shower doors were fixed twice but the repairs didn't hold. one strong tog and they were off again! I've now had new doors put on.

My daughters and I returned last night from a wonderful trip to Orlando and our stay at your condo was perfect! The condo and property were clean, comfortable, and located perfectly for our visits to Universal and Walt Disney World. Now that I know how comfortable the condo and property were, I only wish I had scheduled an extra day or two to enjoy the resort more! I cannot imagine staying anywhere else but in a VRBO property again!

We have been staying in units at the Vista Cay Resort for the past several years. Vista Cay offers a convenient location near the Convention Center plus SeaWorld, Universal and Disney are easily accessible from Universal Blvd. The townhouse was very comfortable and one of the cleaniest units we have stayed in. The owner was prompt at responding to my questions before I booked and the booking, registration and payment process were as agreed. The information and pictures on the VRBO website accurately depict the unit and I would not hesitate to recommend this unit or to book with the owner again.

Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

Owner response: The convenience of Vista Cay is one of it's main benefits. The sea World water park "acquatica" is very close and can be seen from the pool area. For us, being close means that you can get there very early (you can get in at approx 8.30am even though the official opening time isn't until 9am) and experience all the rides with no queues before the crowds build. We then either leave the park and have a late breakfast or settle onto a sun lounger for some relaxation. The pictures are up to date,however, custom made drapes are being fitted in the lounge area this week to replace the vertical blinds. I am sure this will add to the comfortable feel of my Townhome.

I wanted to send you a quick note to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay in your "home" at Vista Cay. The condo is beautiful, impeccably clean and very comfortable. We had a fantastic weekend and our only complaint was that it was too short! We spent all day Friday and Saturday at the pool, which was clean and had plenty of chairs and loungers. We were especially appreciative of the availability of computers and a printer in the clubhouse which allowed us to print our boarding passes before going to the airport on Sunday morning. Thanks again for sharing your home with us.

We are on our flight back to Cincinnati. Your place is beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The first two days I was at a convention (not really walking distance but no place really is there besides Peabody and Rosen in heels and a suit with a laptop in 80 degree weather!). We will eventually post something on trip advisor – something very positive. My son and husband arrived Thursday and it was a great place for the three of us (of course way more than we needed, but teenager was happy to be 2 floors down from Mom and Dad). The beach towels were a pleasant surprise. I had brought beach towels, but only two and was able to call and tell my husband not to bother with more. It worked out perfect for a combined work/family trip. The cleaning lady was there when I arrived (early). She was very friendly and let me into the downstairs bathroom to freshen and then leave my bags while she finished and I went on with my day. Thank you again for sharing your home. It is lovely and if we ever go back to Orlando we will definitely try to book again!

We recently returned from our Vista Cay spring break/swim meet holiday and would like to share our experience. Where do I begin? This was our first experience renting through VRBO. I was hesitant, cautious and quite frankly very naive. Immediately Ruth, the owner calmed my nerves by being easy to reach and answering all my questions. Initially I sent an inquiry regarding the condo and exchanged several emails with Ruth. She sent us copy of a rental agreement and gave us the information on her management company, which is located in Orlando. This was all very reassuring to us. We reserved our week well in advance - before the end of year. I was pleasantly surprised when a Christmas card arrived from the UK – from Ruth! Over the next few months, of course I had more questions and everyone was always friendly and timely in responding. The condo is just as the listing states and then some… charming, spacious, comfortable, well stocked (even has a blender) and secure. I loved having a washer and dryer! There are blow dryers too - I did not see that in the listing. The community/common areas are lovely as well. We met full-time residents as well as travelers like us from all over the US and Canada. The complex is well groomed, quiet and the clubhouse/pool/workout room/basketball court was great as well. As stated - everything is very close by. There is a new grocery store literally right outside the gates. Around the corner is International Drive – a street lined with restaurants, shopping and the convention center. In closing, we would like to give Ruth and her team 5-stars. The weather was PERFECT too! We are already talking about booking again for next year!

Owner response: I have two daughters and a teenage son myself. A hairdryer (wall mounted) in each bathroom is essential for speed when trying to get the family ready to go out to dinner!

This condo is immaculate! Very comfortable and very roomy. Everything was as described by Ruth, the owner. Ruth is a pleasure to communicate with and is quick to respond to your requests. The management team is very responsive also! The rental transaction was a breeze. Location is great - very close to OCCC for those needing lodging for a convention. The pool area is beautiful. The neighbors are very friendly as well! As a matter of fact I am renting this condo again for this September. Thanks so much for everything! Diane Taylor, 2.21.11

Owner response: My guest stayed at Vista Cay because of it's close proximity to Orange County Convention Centre. My Townhome is a good choice for a corporate booking because each bedroom has a great en-suite bathroom meaning that nobody has to share! There is also more relaxation space than you'd find in a hotel room and just as much comfort. My management company take care of approx 50 units on Vista Cay and handle all the rental transaction and payment details for me in a very professional way which guests seem to like.

After my family decided to go ahead with a trip to Disney World we went back and forth on whether or not to stay on the WDW property or in a condo. Our decision was to try a condo and after our experience I would never consider staying on the WDW property as an option again. This condo property was very nice, the condo itself far exceeded my expectations. We traveled with our two small children and my parents, we had more than enough room to give each of us the proper space we needed, all the comforts of home. Ruth, the owner, was very nice and responded right away via email to any questions we had once we arrived. I would recommend to anyone considering their options to take a look at this place. You will not be let down. The drive to WDW was very short, took probably about 10 minutes, there is easy access to a Publix, Target and Walgreens is just around the corner. I have been spoiled now and will never be able to stay in a hotel again without comparing this experience. This was definitely a trip our family will always remember.

First let me start by saying that this owner is the best I have ever worked with when renting such a place as this for vacation!! She always answered all questions we had promptly and efficiently. She really went out of her way for us when we had a life-threatening event so keep reading please! We had this townhouse rented for 7 nights. We arrived in Orlando on a Saturday and were planning to stay until the following Saturday. When we arrived, everything was as stated in the description of the home itself. This property is a gated community and very close to everything really! It is right off of Universal Blvd and International Drive is only about 2 miles away if that (you can use tradeshow drive as a shortcut!) Our trip was planned to visit with our friends from England who had flew in a few days earlier so when we arrived we met them at Hard Rock Hotel and had lunch and waited for the check-in time of the Townhome. They went with us to help us take our luggage and things in and we all were very impressed!! It was gorgeous and exactly as described!! The townhouse has 3 bedrooms all with bathrooms in each room which was wonderful! Loved having a washer/dryer! The kitchen was well stocked with cookware, dishes, flatware, everything you need! There was plenty of TV's for everyone to watch what they wanted as each bedroom had a tv and the main living area had a nice big TV! The main floor is where the kitchen and living area is and also had a 1/2 bath off the kitchen. We really enjoyed the time we spent here although I must say it wasn't much...on Tuesday my husband had a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital where they performed a cath and placed a stent in his right coronal artery (100% blocked)! They were amazing at that hospital which was Orlando Regional Medical Center! He was released late Friday and doctors wanted him to stay in FL at least 24 hours more before starting the journey home as we had driven so I e-mailed Ruth the owner & asked if it was open for one more night and she quickly responded, called the management co. so that when I called they knew exactly what was going on! OUTSTANDING OWNER and management company!! We would definitely stay here again and would not hesitate to recommend to our friends and family !!! You cannot go wrong with this owner or townhome!
