Welcome to 'Sunset Rose Cabin' Named for the beautiful sunsets seen from our spacious wrap-around covered porch . We are located above the beautiful White River , famous for rainbow/brown trout. Drive up the forested mountain road which leads to this cozy , and private get-away cabin. This is our special home away from home , and we would love to share it with you.
Porch area:
The outside covered Porch has spectacular views , and is a wonderful out-door living room. It has lots of room for gathering, and entertaining. Relax in the cedar hand-crafted deck chairs , while viewing the river valley below. The covered porch wraps around three sides of the cabin for lovely views. The front yard has a fun horseshoe throwing pit , and campfire circle. ( Just remember to put the flames out before retiring to your cozy cabin )
Living Room:
Inside continues with a beautiful wood vaulted ceiling in the Living room area . The large windows bring the natural views and light indoors . Wood features through-out the cabin give it that cozy cabin feel. The Living room is furnished for your comfort with Large overstuffed Futon sofa , two large leather recliners , a beautiful Tiled gas fireplace with large screen TV above. A loveseat is also provided . Along with ceiling fans.
Kitchen:
The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and cooking essentials. The handcrafted barn-red cabinets add to the country cabin decor. The tiled counter tops are very nice , and a Breakfast Bar seats three.
Dining Room:
The Dining room with custom made log table seats 6 with great views to the out-doors. The vaulted wood ceiling is very attractive.
Bedrooms:
Retire to one of two comfortable Bedrooms . One located downstairs , and the other Upstairs. The bedrooms are furnished with Log post pine Queen beds , and thick comfy mattresses. You will enjoy the warmth of a hand-made Quilt on each. The room decor has warm wood floors , ceiling , and walls for that special cabin feel. Bed-side tables, and lamps , plus a ceiling fan for your comfort. We also provide an extra twin bed in each bedroom.
Bathrooms:
Two Bathrooms , one on each floor , have full shower/tub combo, and very nice shower heads. Nice tile floors , wood walls, and ceiling make them quite special. The hand painted ceramic sinks , with tile tops, and handcrafted cabinets , add an artistic flair. Pretty mirrors too.
Loft:
Up the log-railing staircase to a cozy Twin-bedded Loft . The large views from here are fantastic , looking out at the river valley below. The beds have cozy Quilts, and a bedside lamp, and table between them. Kids and Adults love the tree-house feel in the loft .

We enjoyed our 5 day stay in this lovely, cozy cabin! It was well maintained with all amenities! We were minutes away from the town, and restaurants. This cabin was high enough to feel the mountain view we hoped for! The owners communicated greatly and gave us great tips for our stay! We highly recommend this place, couldn't ask for more! My family enjoyed our stay immensely!! The cabin is cozy, well stocked, clean, and has amazing views! The owners went out of their way to accommodate us on short notice and were nothing but nice!! We love the area and are so happy to have discovered a great place to stay so close to the river, the town, the caves, etc. We took our 4 and 8 year olds on a beautiful hike from Gunner Pool that was gorgeous and not too hard for them. I would definitely recommend Sunset Rose and look forward to returning!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

My family and I had a great time. The cabin is clean, beautiful, well-maintained, and has a wonderful view of the White River valley. Mountain View is great to visit, take in some music, and shop stores and flea markets. The Ozark Folk Center was very enjoyable. Tommy's in town for pizza and JoJos on the river for catfish were great.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We had a wonderful, relaxing stay at the Sunset Rose. The cabin was the perfect place for our family to meet and enjoy an autumn weekend. The trout fishing on the White River was great. The guys caught their limit each day. Our group included my falther-in-law who has visited this area since the 1960's. His usual choice is a motel-type room. This trip we wanted more space to spend time together. The cabin was well-suited for our group. Amazing views and plenty of privacy. The kitchen was well equipped. The bathrooms had plenty of nice fluffy white towels. Definitely try to arrive during daylight hours. Also, we had a 4x4 rental for the trip. The 4 wheel drive was not necessary because the weather was mild and dry. However, it would probably be required in wet or wintery weather. The only negative- we had so much fun at the Sunset Rose and on the river - we didn't spend much time in Mountain View.Owner response: Thanks so much for the wonderful review . My husband, my 5 year-old and I stayed at the cabin this past summer. WOW! It was great. Very clean, spacious. Great views. Lots of swimming and other activities nearby. Beautiful place.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We decided to take our kids on thier 1 canoe trip. It was great! We had access to information for evrything from canoeing, restaurant and entertainment the bike trails. We visited downtown Sat night for ice cream and live mountain music from the locals. The amenities were clean, ecellent condition that reflected the homemade taste of the town. I believe we caught a glimpse of a bobcat in the front yard at dusk. We viewed blue heron on the river and some much wild life was beautiful. These locations around our state is why I love Arkansas. I would highly recommend time here for anyone to get back to God country.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This log home was an awesome home away from home for our family. The home is gorgeous, very clean, warm & inviting with beautiful views and close to everything including shopping and restaurants as well as tourist sites, all while being on top of a mountain (we had to put our vehicle in 4WD to get to it). We were sad to have to leave...Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

Living in a big city like Memphis , made us appreciate the small-town , friendly atmosphere in Mountain View. We have traveled a good deal with our four children ,to many scenic places in the United States. We all love the outdoors , hiking, Fishing, biking, and adventure. Mountain View ,and the surrounding area has been one of our favorite close to home destinations with family, and friends for years . Building our cabin was a dream come true. Why the Owner Chose Mountain View:
The location of our Cabin near Mountain View , Arkansas has a quiet , and peaceful feeling , while still being close enough to the cute Historic towns of Mountain view , and Calico Rock. We chose this area for the natural beauty , the great fishing , and drivable distance from Memphis, Tn. We have spent many fun week-ends here with family, and friends. Fishing on the white river just below us , hiking down the mountain to Anglers Resort for Breakfast , or hiking the Sylamore National forest , are just a few reasons we love this location. Just plain relaxing on our large porch , while observing the natural surroundings , is great. We have got a little slice of heaven right here at Sunset Rose Cabin.
