Our family and extended family had the great pleasure of staying here for six days and five nights. We found the cabin to be safe, very clean, luxurious and a wonderful place to enjoy our family and children. You'll find some very unique touches to this custom built, modern-style cabin. The three 65" HDTVs with Blu-Ray players were a hit for family movie night; the sound docks were great to play music from our smartphones; the beds were comfortable and each were located in their own distinuguished suite with full bathrooms; our family made full use of the upstairs 500 square foot sleeping room with beds, air mattress and Wii game console; the downstairs playroom was an incredible setting for ping-pong tournaments, poker, movies and just hanging out -- and that "candy bar" was such a brilliant, classy, unexpected feature! You'll also find a mini-bar and wine cooler downstairs underneath a pretty neat hand-made wooden carving. The kitchen was large, modern and had a Meile coffee station; also included were all the kitchen accessories you need and some very cool silverware. Our family made great use of the long breakfast counter and dinner table. At night, we utilized the large deck (which had a full-size gas grill) to watch deer down below and the starry night sky above. What a refreshing atmosphere with the sound of a creek in the distance! We enjoyed a wonderful "lake day" at Jenkinson lake (reminder -- $10/vehicle to enter), complete with lunch, shade, and of course lots of water and kayaking time. Also a hit was the complimentary use of the nearby large pool, clubhouse and tennis courts -- all set amongst the beautiful trees of the surrounding forest. We loved it so much, we visited it twice during our stay! We absolutely recommend this cabin property for any family looking to cut off from the world for a few days (although there is WiFi) and recharge with some rest and relaxation. Heidi was fantastic to work with in making our reservation simple and straightforward. P.S. -- remember to sign the guest book before you leave! Lots of fun and hilarious entries in there. Have a great time, folks!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This house is amazing! Our Bunko group has stayed at this home for the past two years. The house is big, with plenty of room (and bathrooms!) to accommodate 12 women. The kitchen is big and open so that everyone can be a part of the fun while cooking or cleaning. There is room for visiting, room to grab a little solitude- whatever a person needs. We enjoy beautiful walks in the trees, amazing days relaxing on the lake, and fun evenings full of good food and games. Nearby homes are far enough away that you feel quite remote. This house is a big piece of heaven!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

The previous reviews are dead on. The cabin is wonderfully spacious, comfortable, and beautiful. Furthermore, Heidi was an excellent host eager to keep us content. One of my favorite places was the spacious kitchen. We cooked all of our meals and enjoyed the quality appliances without gettting in each other's way. The highlight of our trip was a nice spring day at Jenkinson Lake with our elementary aged kids. The fishing was lousy, but the hiking, rock skipping, goose feeding, horse shoeing, and picnic-ing was fantastic. Plus, besides two fishing boats trolling the waters, we had the whole park to ourselves.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

This property exceeded our expectations. It is truly a luxury cabin with more space than you can imagine. It has been created and decorated with style and personal comfort in mind. We had some problems with all the electronics because of user error. When we called the owners they couldn't have been more pleasant and patient with us. We have rented several homes for our family vacations and we all agreed this was the best. We will go back.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Wow! What a beautiful house! This was our 1st time renting a house and let me tell you, the bar is set VERY high now. It was absolutely everything that it was described to be and then some. We had a group of 10 including 3 kids and a baby, we had plenty of room to spread out and never felt cramped. The decor was outstanding as well, you get that cabin feel with touches of class everywhere! It was the perfect house to relax in after our days on the lake. We can't wait to come back! Owner's were very helpful and easy to work with, thank you for sharing your house with us!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

Wow, wow, wow!!! This house is beyond gorgeous. The attention to detail was amazing as was the unique rustic decor. We had a total of 10 people in our group...6 adults and 4 children and we all had plenty of space and were all very comfortable. I love the layout of the home, each floor had a master suite which allowed for plenty of privacy. We had an amazing time in Pollock Pines and actually wish we had cut out the second part of our trip (to Lake Tahoe) and just stayed in Pollock Pines for the entire week. Thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven with us...the memories will last a lifetime.Recommended for: Families with young children

We are a small Church group from the Bay Area and spent a wonderful 3 days, 2 nights for a retreat at this cabin. The cabin is simply excellent! The pictures are wonderful, but the actual place looks even better - it was spacious, and we really appreciated the big screen TV(s) and the ping pong table at the lower floor. The owners were always prompt and a pleasure to work with, providing any and every information we need for the house + surrounding area. You will NOT be disappointed :)Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

This place is amazing. Your future hosts have built a log cabin mansion - complete with huge flatscreens, an enormous bar, a great deck, and a gigantic romper room - into the secluded hillside above a babbling brook. There's plenty of space (and parking and bathrooms) for everyone, and the beds and couches are ridiculously comfy. Plus, it's close to some great rafting. I'm looking for excuses to head back out that way.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Beautiful home, luxurious but also warm and inviting. We had eight adult family members meet for a family reunion, and the space was magnificent! Large, so we weren't all on top of each other, but with enough unique areas (living room, game room downstairs, dining area) where we all could gather in different groups for board games, reading .... and napping! Kitchen had everything you'd need and want for meal preparation, fireplaces in master bedroom and living room made for coziness and gathering places. The beds were large and comfortable, the linen high quality. We stayed in January (no snow, sadly) and it was quite cold outside. The large amount of space, however, meant there was no cabin fever for this crew! Such a great home, beautifully furnished and lovingly cared for. We look forward to trying it out again in summer!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

This house was amazing! There were 6 of us in awe as soon as we stepped into it! The attention to detail was remarkable. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a comfortable, relaxing place away with a refined and luxurious feel and look. This amazing home in a hidden, fabulous location exceeded our expectations! There was always something to do for our diverse group of 6. An art & wine festival, apple hill at Denver Dans, antiqueing/shopping in downtown placerville, the big screen tv's to watch movies and sports, ping-pong & a great kitchen to make a goumet meal! It was an absolute pleasure to stay here and we are already planning our next trip in the snow!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful vacation home. The photos didn't do it justice. And you can't hear the sound of the creek in them either. Your home had everything to make our stay relaxing and fun. So many nearby places to explore and since it was Apple Hill time, all those orchards to go sample the fresh made goodies. I can't wait to book another reservation. It will be at the top of my list of places to stay. Thank you again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
