Our 6000sft home is set up for entertaining and hosting guests and we would like to invite you to join us! Our huge great room is enhanced with unobstructed views of Colorado's two highest mountain peaks; Mount Elbert and Mount Massive dominate the view to the west and we are surrounded by many additional '14-ers'. After dark the only lights you will see are the stars.
This is truly a mountain get-away to rival any you have experienced or will experience in the future! Our gourmet kitchen may be used by guests with supervision by our master chef or you can book a dinner, box lunch, brunch, or delicious breakfast at an extra cost.
We host guests who want to experience the mountains in style, who relish being outdoors, and who like to relax in the evenings and join us in the movie theater or around the game table. You are more than welcome to enjoy the peace and quiet alone or spend time with us... the decisions are yours!
We don't rent out the entire home; we prefer to rent individual suites to couples or singles. We have named our suites after the best of the best as we feel 'The Lostberry Ranch' is the best of the best in Colorado and a gem in this historic mountain mining town!
The Royal Suite, one of the favorites in the home, has a king cherry sleigh bed, a view of the sunsets, and a private bath with huge soaking tub.
The Executive Suite is next door to the Royal on the upper level of the home. This room has a king size custom iron bed designed and built by the homeowner and has a Sleep-number mattress. The bath has no tub - shower only. A twin bed is also available in this room if you have a well-behaved child with you.
On the lower level of the home we have the Admiral's suite with a private entrance and patio, another king bed, and a kitchenette with convection microwave oven and full-size refrigerator. No tub but the privacy of this room more than makes up for it!
Next door to the Admiral's suite is our only room with two beds. We generally reserve this room for children over 10 who will share the bathroom with their parents in the Admiral's suite but it will work for the single adults as well (the only draw back is this room shares it's bath across the 'playroom' with the rest of the house and has a claw-foot tub only - no shower).
Our 5th bedroom is the Presidential Suite - the master suite of the home. This room is only booked during special events or for special occasions because it is so special. Another king size sleep number bed, an exotic shower with 16 heads, a private sitting room and deck, and a claw-foot princess tub make this room special. Again, as this is 'our' bedroom it is generally not available but if you are willing to pay extra to enjoy the best of the best just ask and we will make the arrangements for you!
All bedrooms also have large screen TVs with satellite and DVD players if you aren't interested in the movie playing in the theatre!
We have recently added the 'Bunk House' to our list of suites available. This 800 square foot extra-large room occupies the upper level of our 'barn'. The Barn actually houses a very special array of collectible cars so the Bunk House room is decorated to enhance this theme. Route 66 never offered so much! The Bunk House has a king bed, a queen bed, and a twin bed, a mini-kitchen with microwave, coffee maker, toaster and mini refrigerator. The 3/4 bath is private. This room does NOT have a tv, telephone, or cd player but does have access to the wireless internet.
We offer hosted snowmobiling trips in the winter and in summer we are close to tons of outdoor recreation activities including biking, hiking, gold-panning, North America's highest golf course, fishing, and ATV trails.
We promote 'The Lostberry Ranch' as the Ritz-Carlton of Leadville and welcome you to enjoy it as much as we enjoy hosting you! Ask about the name of the home~ we love sharing our stories and look forward to welcoming you to our family!
Please remember we do NOT rent out the entire home... we live here full time and are willing to move into the Bunk House if you have a party of 10 but will almost never leave completely... Feel free to chat with us about how this all works!

We had an interesting stay in Leadville.....but only because we all came down with the stomach flu! The Lostberry Ranch was a nice place to be while healing. It is a beautiful home, in a beautiful setting. The amenities were plentiful, and the location was ideal. Unfortunately we did not have the opportunity to explore the outdoors as much as we wanted to...but will go back next year and try again!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers.

My husband and I stayed at The Lostberry Ranch to race in the 2011 Leadville 100, and the Leadville 10k run. The location is perfect, just a few miles from downtown. The home is spectacular, with amazing views of Colorado's 14,000 foot peaks. Wonderful sunrises/ sets. Use of kitchen was convenient. The hosts, Carrie and Barry, make sure all needs are seen to. The home theater was a plus!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

My wife and I (with two of our children) ventured to Leadville from Hong Kong for a terrific holiday. Lostberry Ranch was a spectacular setting--panoramic views, well appointed rooms, a game room and theater that the kids loved, and outdoor hot tub. A true luxury experience for us... We also enjoyed the company of other visitors and our hosts, and we felt very "at home" during our stay at Lostberry Ranch. This far outdistances all other accommodations we have had in Leadville, and we will be back again next year.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers.

We were nervous about spending time in someone's guest room as opposed to having our own place or visiting a true Bed and Breakfast but our worries were quickly squashed when we met our gracious and fun hosts. The house is set up so we had an entire floor to ourselves but there was so much to do here we ended up inviting Carrie and Barry to join us anyway! We had privacy when we wanted it and we had great company to share our vacation with as well.... it was the best of both worlds and we will certainly come back again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

I have had the pleasure of spending a few nights at this home. If you are looking for the best in upper end amenities, impressive surroundings, and probably more comforts then home, this property has it all. I have enjoyed this property in the dead of winter and the peak of summer. After a long day of snowmobiling the local terrain and great Colorado mountains, the hot tub under the stars is something you will not forget. The property is located far enough out from town that lights are not a factor. During our visit during the summer, the longer days are a perfect setting for the not so distant views of the spectacular 14'ers. Prime time seems to be during the marathons or the international bike races. This property is getting popular quick, I guess it is no longer a good secret! I would recommend you lock space on earlier then later to insure a great stay in Leadville, whatever the occasion might be. Almost forgot, the hosts are great folks and look for ways to make sure your stay is of the highest caliber. Don't hesitate to ask them if you have special considerations. I know they will do whatever they have to to accommodate you.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

We spent several days at this property and found it to be the most relaxing and rewarding vacation in years. Our bed was luxurious, our room was exceptionally nice and the views we cannot possible describe! We were looking at an unobstructed view of the 2 highest peaks in Colorado - just an awesome sight! Carrie and Barry were incredible hosts. We enjoyed their company and stories about the history of the area, but they allowed us our privacy when we wanted it. If you're looking for the perfect mountain getaway, this is the place!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers.

We had a wonderful stay at this exquisite home...you have the best of both worlds with wonderful outdoor experiences in Leadville from mountain biking on the Colorado Trail or a hike around Turquoise Lake (about 5 miles from the house) and luxurious accommodations upon your return. The listing is completely accurate, the hosts are fun and helpful; the property is clean and the house layout is perfect. This rental is worth every penny!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers.

About the owner: Carrie and Barry designed and built 'The Lostberry Ranch' from a drawing on a napkin! We love hosting and enjoy spending time with our guests who want a true 'home' feeling but are also fine giving the space over to you to enjoy on your own. We are avid snowmobilers and car collectors, enjoy cooking and playing games, think movies are a great way to spend an afternoon, and love traveling the world more than anything! Our cats Cookie and Coco have the run of the public areas of the house but are well aware that they don't belong in our guest rooms.
Why the Owner Chose Leadville:
VERY IMPORTANT: This is not just a vacation rental ~ it is our home! We love Leadville as a beautiful little town with amazing views and a close-to-perfect climate for us. We have tons of space and enjoy meeting people so we decided what better way to do what we love than to invite you to join us! We are most happy sharing one or two guest rooms at a time, but have also had a full house (including the 'bunk house' in the barn!) with us acting as hosts and even renting the whole house while we leave town...If you want one room or more just let us know: this is your vacation and we are here to make your stay the best it can be whether that is enjoying it with you or keeping out of your hair....
We think Leadville is an awesome vacation spot for outdoor recreationalists year round but we also know that sometimes sitting by the fire and playing a game of cards is the best thing in the world so we welcome you to experience the best of life for yourself!
The Unique Benefits at this Lodge:
We cater to adult couples. We have various choices of rooms but all have access to 'the playroom' with the pool table and pinball machine. Our hot tub has an amazing view as do all the decks and patios. We have two fireplaces in the public portion of the home and the Presidential suite has it's own fireplace as well. Our 7-seat theatre has authentic movie theatre seats and comes complete with 113' screen and it's own snack bar. We offer catered meals as well as picnics, and in the winter we love showing you around the area on snowmobiles that we take directly from the house to the hills!
