The home is a 1500 square foot on-grade ranch style home on a quiet street in Summerland Key. There are three large bedrooms with plenty of closet and drawer space. The master and second bedrooms have queen size beds. The third bedroom has two twin beds. All of the rooms have been recently re-decorated in the Florida colors and themes. The Master suite has a large private bathroom and has patio doors that open directly to the canal deck. The second bathroom is centrally located. Both bathrooms have full tub and shower. We also have a private outdoor shower for rinsing off the salt from your swimming or kayak trip or just because it is fun to shower outdoors. We have satellite television in the main living room and the master bedroom.
There is a large kitchen with plenty of room for "all" the cooks and all the utensils, dishes, and cookware you could need. The dining area will seat 6. There is a living room with full sofa, loveseat and reading chair. In addition there is the Florida room which is basically another living room with full size couch/fold-out bed, bar with refrigerator and reading chair. This room looks out on the canal with two large patio doors so you can just sit in here and watch the boats go by.
There is a full size washer and dryer in the storage garage attached to the home in addition to the storage space for your outdoor gear. There is a patio table on the canal deck along with Adirondack chairs and loungers for soaking in the sun. The canal seawall allows plenty of space to park your boat and has a shaded fish cleaning station with water. The deep water canal is a 5-minute ride to the ocean with no bridges.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2009
About the owner: The home is owned by two families. We purchased it last year from the family that built it. They took excellent care of the home and we have pretty much gone through it and decorated to our taste. The interior is bright and clean with vivid Florida colors and lots of windows. We enjoy taking our families down to enjoy the atmosphere of Summerland Key. We are far enough from Key West to really be living the "island" life yet close enough that flying in is a breeze and of course the Key West night life is always a great time.
Why the Owner Chose Summerland Key:
We wanted to have a place were we could go and disconnect from the rest of the world-This is it! We often say that this is as far as you can get from the real world and still be in the United States. Whether we are out in the beautiful green water of the Keys or sitting on the canal deck with a cocktail and some good tunes watching the sun move across the sky-we are never bored. But of course if we get the urge to dial it up we are only about 25 minutes from the fun of Duval Street and everything that is "Key West. The restaurants around Summerland Key are excellent and there is great variety. Or head down to the local market and pick up some steaks or fresh seafood and grill it on the deck-(that really is the best) Of course the fishing and diving is what Summerland Key is famous for. We are about 7 miles from the underwater beauty of Looe Key. There are numerous guides available to take you fishing or you can just drop a line from one of the bridges (Kemp Channel is to the west, Niles Channel is to the east).
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The home is large and spacious inside with a full living room with large TV, a dining area, large full kitchen and the Florida Room that looks out on the canal. The kids can be in one room and the adults in another. In addition there are three large bedrooms (2-queen beds and 2-twin beds). The master bedroom suite has a private bathroom. Both bathrooms are large and bright. There is plenty of drawer and closet space. In addition we have enclosed the car port to make a large storage area for fishing and dive gear. Outside you will find that the large concrete deck up to the canal is great for entertaining. We are in an upscale quiet area. The entire back area is concrete so you won't be dragging sand or dirt into the home or on your stuff. The streets are quiet and wide so your morning walks or bike rides will be safe and relaxing. We can provide more pictures upon request.
