  I spent a week at Casa Alvarado with a group of friends in March and we all agreed that it was the most amazing vacation that any of us had experienced. Casa Alvarado is truly away from it all and provides significant privacy as you enjoy a peaceful vacation on the beach. While the house is certainly secluded, it does not lack any amenities. The pool area offers ample room for a group of people to spread out and enjoy the sun. The beach is extremely private and there is great snorkling right in front of the house. There are kayak's to enjoy the amazing coastline from the water and plenty of rafts to float on in the pool. We all enjoyed the privacy that the bedrooms and private baths allowed and the set up of the house meant that each of us in the main house had a window facing the beach. We went to sleep each night listening to the sounds of the waves and looking at the stars. We were extremely impressed with Carlos who would come to check on us each morning. Our driver, Sergio, was fabulous and was able to recommend great excursions from the house. While there is great local food and experiences that Carlos or Sergio can direct you to, there is also access to a bar and restaurant at the nearby resort. There were very few people staying here and the staff treated us as if we were guests at the hotel. We used their tennis courts, ate at the restaurant there and spent time relaxing in their seaside bar. The internet in the house allowed us to hoop up our laptops to stream the NCAA tournament. We wanted for nothing while we were there! The location of this house is absolutely breathtaking and the owners care a great deal about the house and its condition. I have rented many vacation homes over the years and this one is by far the most well cared for and well equipped. I can't wait to retun to this truly unique vacation spot.

  "We left your lovely Casa Alvarado yesterday morning at 5:30 in a light rain, which only made it a little easier to bid adios to a spectacular week. Everything was perfect! Your home was just the right fit for our family frolics. So beautiful and functional too. Loved the well equipped kitchen where we could all gather to cook and graze. We always had a puzzle going at one end of the counter. The young ones really liked their casitas. We marvelled at the wonderful stone work , especially the compass in the courtyard. Carlos was a delight as advertised. He kept us well supplied and informed. He sends his greetings to you. Griselda brought in a fabulous dinner one night and thanks to Carlos, we had two guitar players and her husband singing for a fun fiesta night. Christmas dinner at the hotel was also lovely. We loved the remote setting and the gorgeous beach and rocks. We immediately settled in and enjoyed each other and the beautiful tranquility. We were all so happy there that no one wanted any extra activities like fishing, kite surfing... Our days were filled with sunrise yoga on the beach every morning as well as an abbs workout, family walks on beach, a few would run, our youngest got us all excited about exploring the tide pools, we kayaked, played ping pong, plunged quickly in and out of pool, played games, read on patio, pool deck, hammock...the days flew blissfully by. We had camp fires two windless nights for storytelling, s'mores and charades. Every night we watched the moon grow and Jupiter climb higher and higher. If you ask for suggestions to improve the Casa Alvarado experience, we would have none! Thank you again for sharing your special home with us. We will all have wonderful memories of our 2012 Mexican Christmas." *****

  I rented Casa Alvarado for my 40th birthday with several of my girls friends and from the moment I was met at the airport by the driving service my amazing vacation started. The reviews are correct...the pictures do not do it justice. I have stayed in several HomeAway houses and this is the most well appointed home I have rented. It has everything you need to make your vacation perfect. The kitchen has all the supplies you would need to make a meals for 20, pots, pans, blenders, ice maker, spring water cooler, and the basic spices and cooking staples. As for adventures in water the aquatics closet has snorkeling equipment, boogie boards, beach volleyball and several toys for the pool. The home owners were very helpful with all aspects of our stay and were right on with all their suggestions of places to eat and shop. If you are looking to get away and enjoy time with friends and family this home is has it all. I will be returning Casa Alvarado in the near future.

  Whenever you book accomodations online, looking at the pictures you can only hope that it actually looks like that in real life... but Casa Alvarado was far beyond our expectations! The pictures online hardly do it justice, because its SO amazing in real life! The house was huge! Not too mention well-stocked and clean. We pretty much had the entire beach to ourselves, and the water was phenomenal. Everyone from Carlos, Griselda and Susan were so helpful with everything. We rented ATVs from the hotel, went deep sea fishing, and ventured out to experience some local Mexican food as recommended by Carlos. We also took some day trips to La Paz, Los Barriles and Punto.. Culmo (?). The driving directions provided by Susan at first sounded convoluted but once attempting the drive, we found they were spot on! So helpful. What an adventurous drive that was! All in all, the vacation was epic. We couldn't have asked for a better experience... and look foward to visiting Casa Alvarado again in the future.

  Casa Alvarado would be more appropriately named Casa Bonita or just plain Paradise. This is a magnificent vacation spot for anyone looking for an escape from the busy every day of our typical lives. The home is gorgeous, comfortable, and accommodating to a large group. It's clean, easy to live in, and the lovely people who help maintain the home year around make sure you are comfortable and well cared for. Casa Alvarado is the perfect spot to rest, relax, rejuvenate, or to adventure. Kayaking, snorkeling, ATV rides are all out your doorstep. Come with friends or come alone, just come! Casa Alvarado will not disappoint.

  It would be difficult to find a more perfect spot. Transform your life from the fast to the slow and from the complex to the simple. Breathtaking views. Your every need met by the gracious and highly attentive house staff. I highly recommend this amazing place.

  “Heaven on earth” begins to capture what a visit to Casa Alvarado offers. “A gift by the sea” hints at the rhythm of the sea sounds, the sun kissed breezes and the view of the moon rising over the water. Lifted from the distractions, tasks and responsibilities of a busy, cyber filled schedule into a day with time to collect seashells, swim in the gentle surf and walk the shore. The beautiful stone pathways, courtyard and overall design make the main house and two casitas feel at one with the natural landscape, yet provides the amenities of a vacation spot. The spectacular natural beauty and the climate created a meditative quality and this trip with childhood pals to this special place nourished my soul. I returned to my life at home with more to give to family, friends, work and the world at large. I highly recommend a visit to the beautiful spot and hope to bring family and friends back again and again.

  You can walk for miles on the beach, sip margaritas by the pool, revel in the beauty of early morning sunrises. Casa Alvarado is a truly lovely and immaculate home in a spectacular oceanfront location on the Sea of Cortez. I went with a group of 5 friends and we loved every minute of the trip!! The location is very private, a 1 1/2 hour drive from the Cabo airport, but you have ultimate privacy and the beach to yourself (no standing in line to reserve your beach chair) The living spaces in the house are great - large open kitchen/dining/living areas (indoor and outdoor) and many private bedroom /bath combinations. The owners have a wonderful group of service providers available to make your vacation more enjoyable - airport pick up, home catering, arranging for chartered fishing trips, stocking the kitchen before your arrival. If your idea of vacation is dining at a different 5 star restaurant every night, then this is probably not the place for you. However, the charming Punta Pescadero Hotel is a 5 minute walk from the house where you can enjoy cocktails and casual dining at the oceanfront bar under the stars or dinner in the dining room. We took a thoroughly enjoyable overnight trip to the historic town of San Jose del Cabo, a charming and historic Mexican town just north of the touristy Cabo San Lucas. In a nutshell, if you love big crowds, being surrounded by loud & noisy people, nightclubs and non-stop action, this is probably not the place for you. If you want to live on the beach, sit in the sun, catch up on your pleasure reading, and relax and reconnect with family and friends, you could find no better place than Casa Alvarado!!

  The posted description of the home is spot on. you will have no disappointments with this wonderful home or with it's location on a fantastic beach. Great snorkeling at your doorstep or miles of mostly isolated beaches offering a variety of sands, seas and vistas. A beachcombers paradise ! Our group is so taken with Casa Alvarado that we have been coming here for over twenty years. The house caretaker Carlos, can answer any questions you may have and direct you to or find anything you may need. Enjoy your stay.....just leave us a week for next year.
