  This was our second visit to this beach house and it was again a fantastic vacation. We can't wait until next year an plan to make this a recurring vacation. If you're looking for a great place to relax and unwind, then this is it. The house is very clean and has more than enough room to accommodate several families with kids. If you do have kids then you can't go wrong as there are numerous activities for them. There is surfing, a sea turtle hospital, ghost crab hunts, and there is always the beach to build sand castles and play in the surf. The owners are incredibly friendly are quick to help out with any needs. If you're looking for a great family vacation, look no further.

  I cannot say enough about this wonderful home! We have stayed here multiple times, with large groups, including several children. The house easily accommodates several families, with plenty of beds and bathrooms, and the kitchen is well-equipped and very spacious, so that several of us can work together to prepare meals. The location is perfect, as the beach is quiet, extremely clean, very private – and most importantly, right outside the back door of this home! This is wonderful for the children in our group, who like to spend most of their time at the beach, but also run into the house often to grab a snack, beach toy, etc., throughout the day. Aside from the beach itself, there is no shortage of things to do in the community (our kids took surfing lessons, visited a sea turtle hospital, and even attended a free class on marine life). We have spent thousands of dollars on theme park vacations throughout the country, but at the end of those vacations, our kids always ask, “When can we go back to Topsail?” We can’t wait for next year!

  My family and I just spent a week at this beautiful home with 4 other families. Even with 11 children and 9 adults, this house never felt crowded. It has ample space and was well decorated with many special touches. It is apparent that the owners take great pride in this lovely home. The view of the ocean from the living room and dining room is breath taking. There are many things to do on the island as well. Our children took surfing lessons and classes about the sea life in the area while we were there, but we were also able to just relax on the beach or by the pool. We can't wait till next year and hope to stay here again!

  When my wife and I planned our wedding we made our number one priority the comfort of our guests. No long layover between the ceremony and reception, no waiting to eat while the bridal party takes pictures, etc. So many guests noticed and went out of the way to say so. This review is in the same vein. The owners clearly use this house frequently and, most importantly, spend money when they feel that the house is needing something for guests. From the beach chairs and boogie boards, to the life jackets for kids, to the Weber gas grill, it really is a place geared to a family (or families) with kids who are looking for a comfortable, affordable place to stay and enjoy the beach and each other's company.

  Owner response: Thanks for your kind words. On our last trip a few of us pitched in to put over 150 new stainless steel screws in the beach walk, a need resulting from proximity to the ocean, as well as all of the sun the walkway gets, which causes boards to periodically loosen. On that same trip we replaced 35 boards in the deck leading off of the "Buckeye Room" and while these things could have waited, we wanted to get them done because of the busy season ahead. The place is our joy, but with home ownership come lots of little things that need doing from time to time. In not dealing with a rental company we make a point of getting to the beach house often and working on these things ourselves, or else hiring people and trying to be there when they do their work, so that we can keep a close eye on things.   This home away from home has been peaceful and fun for our family and friends! Amazingly clean! Beautiful sunsets and regular fly-bys by the pelicans! Our favorite part was the beautiful beach and the pool, both of which our children loved! The owners of this home have such pride in making sure everything will be perfect during your stay. So much space! Everyone was comfortable and the kids loved the game room! Got to go get a LunaPop! Yummy! Also enjoyed the SeaTurtle Hospital! Thank you! Worthington, Ohio

  We had a wonderful weekend (THUS-SUN) at this place, 15 family/friends,11 adults from 30 to 65ytd and 4 children from ages 2 to 5yrs. This is just perfect place for everyone. The owners were very easy to get in touch with and really friendly and supportive when discussing our dates, deposits and other information. We would recommend this house as its one of the best place to stay in the given price as compare to location. Having looked and priced other homes in this area, this house is the best value for your money.

  We have been renting this house (both sides) since 2001 and we love it. This year we noticed that the decor had been changed, along with the furniture and minor changes have been done. We have always found this rental kid friendly, clean and welcoming. Our family loves this home and since the walkway was added a few years ago, very convenient to the beach. The new owners were very easy to get in touch with and really friendly when discussing our dates, deposits and other information. We would recommend this house to anyone that is interested. Having looked and priced other homes in this area, this house is the best value for your money. We are looking forward to renting this home again in 2013 (our entire family--28 of us--goes to the shore every other year).

  I just returned from a week at Topsail with 12 family members,9 adults and 4 children from ages 7 to 17yrs. The house worked for us, our family time and private time as well. The 3rd floor Buckeye Room was perfect for the kids to have their own space for gaming and TV, while the adults enjoyed the downstairs living area. The beautiful private beach was what I came for and loved. Other family members found fishing, crabbing, and marsh explorations of interest. We loved the relaxed, informal atmosphere of the island and surrounding community to be a great change from the other Eastern Shore beach vacations we usually take.

  If you're looking for a relaxing and family friendly vacation it really doesn't get any better than this beach house. We just recently spent a week here with multiple families and it was fantastic. The house is very spacious and also has a wonderful loft area with foosball and video games for the kids to play. There is also a nice balcony right off of the loft to view the beach from or relax and read a book on. The beach is just a walk away right off of the downstairs deck. It is also a private beach and is absolutley beautiful. You can also use a pool that is right down the beach if you want to switch things up and go the pool instead of the beach. There are mulitple activities for the kids to enjoy. Our daughter took surf lessons and absolutely loved it and picked it up on the first lesson. The girl who gives the lessons is a professional surfer and is excellent with children. There are a couple of camps for marine discoveries that kids can go to and the owners are very helpful on obtaining all of the information. The house is very clean and well-maintained and the owners are extremely responsive if there are any issues or if you have any questions. I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for an incredibly relaxing vacation and has a family.

  We just returned from a fabulous week at this beautiful beach home. Our days were spent waking up to have breakfast in the fully appointed, lovely kitchen, then just a quick walk down to the beach for body surfing and swimming, then over to the pool, and back to the home for dinner and very restful sleep in this quiet area of Topsail. Our group consisted of many kids under the age of 10, so we were quite pleased when this proved to be a perfect house and location for young kids. The photos in the listing are spot on and the thoughtful decorating makes you feel right at home as soon as you arrive. The beach was perfect for lounging, kite flying, sand castle building, and boogie boarding. Both kids and adults alike found plenty of activities to keep them busy, or simply savored the sound of the surf and the beauty of the ocean. I definitely recommend this property to others. We can't wait to return!
