Charming Home in the Village of Woodstock VT
- Minimum stay:2 nights
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:Yes
- Wheel chair accessible:No
This clean, cozy, comfortable home is located in the historic village of Woodstock, Vermont. Built by a Civil War soldier in 1860, the home still has retained some of its old charm with wide board flooring in the dining room and some of the bedrooms. Other areas of the home have been recently renovated, including new bamboo hardwood flooring and a Vermont Castings wood stove in the living room.
The master bedroom has a plush, extra-thick mattress/box spring. There are 2 other bedrooms, each with 2 twin beds, while the den has a new convertible futon, giving this home plenty of sleeping room. The dining room, just off the fully-stocked kitchen, is extra-large and has a modern piano. The living room is over-sized with an entertainment center, DVD library, and many games/puzzles.
Sit on the attached porch that offers views of Mt Peg, an especially breathtaking view during foliage season. Directly across the street a brook runs through the park that adjoins the golf course. In the winter months, the golf course becomes a groomed cross-country ski resort with trails for all ability levels. The more advanced trails head up into the woods on Mt Peg.
Just two blocks from the village green, this home is within walking distance to everything that Woodstock has to offer. There are numerous restaurants from cafes' to more formal settings. The specialty shops, antique shops, and bookstores offer something for everyone.
The Woodstock Inn Resort Spa is a block away.
The local ski resort is within 5 miles away and Killington Mountain Resort is about a 25 minute drive.
Fishing, swimming, boating, and tubing are available at many of the nearby rivers and lakes. There are hiking and biking trails thru-out the area as well.
It is just a 10 minute walk to Billings Farm and the Rockefeller Mansion. The Woodstock Town Theater is located next to the village green and offers both live performances and current motion pictures.
Enjoy the comforts of home while having close access to one of the prettiest towns in America!

You couldn't ask for a better location for a vacation rental. My husband and I along with our two boys (8 and 11) spent a week in this house to cap off our summer. The house is great. The living room is large and comfortable and nicely decorated. It has a large television with cable( not that we had much time to watch it!) The kitchen has everything you need. The dining room is sunny and comfortable. The house is directly across from Mount Peg and a play ground with playing fields. My husband and I spent several evenings just relaxing on the porch while watching the boys play in the park. (baseball, basketball and tennis!) We biked, hiked and strolled in town. Everything is within walking distance. I would definitly recommend hiking Mt. Tom. The views are spectacular and the hike very managable for all ages. We also spent a couple of great days at Silver Lake in Barnard. (20 min drive). You can rent Kayaks and peddle boats there. We had such a great time in this house. We are already planning a winter vacation there. You can cross country ski across the street!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2005
About the owner: We currently live in southern NH where Jeff is a high school chemistry teacher. Cathy is a nurse who works in home health. We have a daughter who is a freshman in college and a teenage son. Lola is our 3 year old Lhasa Apso.
Why the Owner Chose Woodstock:
We have lived in many different areas of the US. We were married in Flagstaff Arizona 20 years ago, where we were both working on the Navajo/Hopi Indian Reservation. After that we spent 6 years in Montana's Flathead Valley. We returned to New England in the late 90's and found Woodstock. We were amazed at how well the town's beauty has been preserved and how much the surrounding country has to offer in terms of outdoor activity. We enjoy having a home in Woodstock as it is a perfect getaway for us to relax. We look forward to sharing our home with you so you can enjoy the same!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The most remarkable attribute about this property is it's location. You can see the village green from the outside of the house and it takes less than 5 minutes to walk to the downtown area. The Spa at the Woodstock Inn is a new state-of-the-art spa and just one block away. The home is surrounded by hiking trails and national forests. The Woodstock Golf Course is a block away. The park across the street has tennis courts, basketball court, baseball diamond, and soccer fields. Billings farm and museum is a 10 minute walk.
