We enjoyed staying in the welcoming home. Nicely decorated with a whimsical beach/nautical motif. Well furnished with comfortable beds and good linens, including an abundance of towel. Very well equipped kitchen with some staple supplies, laundry room with everything, big wraparound deck with lots of Adirondack-style chairs and a big hot tub with views to the sea. Lots of games, puzzles, DVDs and CDs for entertainment. TV/DVD/Dish with instructions that actually make sense. Very dog friendly, which our pooch appreciated. (Dog beds, bowls, shampoo). Great location for exploring the Mendocino coast as well as the Anderson Valley Wine Region. It was a real pleasure to work with the owner, who promptly answered all my many questions and helped me plan for the trip. The listing and pictures on VRBO were accurate and gave a good idea of what the property has to offer. There are a lot of points of interest nearby. We particularly enjoyed taking the dog to Big River Beach just south of Mendocino village, exploring Jug Handle Beach, Russian Gulch, Elk, the Botanical Garden in Fort Bragg, dinner at the Ledford House, and the Scotch Flight tastings at Albion River Inn.

This house is perfect for a family getaway. It is beautifully decorated with beach accents.. Although there is no beach access from this area, there are beautiful ocean views from almost every window. The wrap-around porch with chairs facing the ocean is a great place to read a book of have a glass of wine. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable with plenty of blankets for cold nights. The bathrooms (one upstairs and one downstairs) are well stocked with fluffly towels. The living room is warm and inviting. The dining table is large with extra seating tucked away in a cupboard. Lots of games to play, puzzles to do and CD's to watch if you are inclined to stay indoors. We stayed in December and the house was decorated with holiday accents and festive outside lights on a timer. This was just one of the many personal touches in this house. The owners were very cordial throughout the booking process and answered questions quickly. Prior to our stay, they provided great directions to the house, as well as easy to follow instructions for everything in the house. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to staying here again!

We rented this property for a group of 8. We were going up there for the wine and mushroom festival. The house was wonderful! It was easy to get to (I only suggest not trying to find it in the dark!). We had everything we needed to cook meals, and for sleeping. We all slept comfortably and we all commented on how wonderful the beds were! The views were spectacular! We could see the ocean and we loved sitting on the porch in the mornings and evening watching the sunset and sunrise. This house is located in a wonderful spot. It was away from Mendocino and Fort Bragg (which was nice!) but it was very easy to go to these towns for all of the festival activities. I would rent this place in a heartbeat! Everything was layed out, and we all had a wonderful weekend.

Myself, husband, 2 children and parents recently stayed at this wonderful house. We loved it! Great location; close to Ft. Bragg, Albion and Mendocino. The house is spotless! Fully equipped with anything you could need. Plenty of room for everyone. We enjoyed the spa! We will definitely be back!

We found this great cozy little retreat for our honeymoon (we are in our late 40's). Located on a quiet private road, great ocean view, peaceful, and close to lots of romantic and beautiful spots. The house was exactly as described, and we found the owner to be completely responsive both before and after our stay. He had a genuine concern that everything worked good, and there were no hidden issues with the house. The house was fully equipped with everything you might need. Just add food and you are good to go. Lots of dishes, linens, cooking supplies, wine glasses (!), games, puzzles, books, movies, and peace & quiet. All the rooms & furniture were very comfortable too. There is a little store just up the road that offers an amazingly deep selection of food, and a larger store up in Mendocino. Both were surprisingly good with the items they had available. The town of Mendocino was fun to walk around and explore. People were nice and fun to watch. Definitely eat at the Albion River Inn if you want a delicious and romantic dinner. We also rode the Skunk Train up in Ft Bragg. About 30 minute drive from the house. Take the Parlor Car option for wine tasting and adults only while on your ride... There are also a ton of day trips available for biking, hiking, driving up and down the California coast. We plan to be back to see more of what we missed! Thank you!

We enjoyed our stay in this home. It was very clean and was equipped with everything necessary for feeding two to several guests. There was a great supply of towels and linens. It's a short drive to Mendocino and Ft. Bragg, and is in a beautiful setting. Our favorite restaurant was in Elk--9 miles down the road--Greenwood Cafe. It's owned by a friendly couple--he's an outstanding chef. The food is also reasonably priced.

This was a very comfortable and modest home that was perfect for my family. One of the nice things was that the kitchen was basically 100% complete with everything we needed to cook big family dinners. The dining room sat 6 easily, although we spent our dinners on the deck over looking the cove and watching the sun set, followed by a dip in the hot tub!! Great place and looking forward to renting it again in the future.

The place was classic. It had a great location, killer view, safe access and was just plain fun and comfortable. Loved the hot tub. It was stocked with all we needed to have a great time which we did. We also loved all the little decorations which really gave it the feeling of us being at home. Our dog loved going to Big River and then getting hosed off on the deck. Fun shopping in Mendocino and Fort Bragg and of course wine tasting on the 128. We lucked out and the weather was perfect for abalone diving. We will hopefully use it again. Finally, the owner was a pleasure to work with.

My friends and I all met up here for the weekend of the Boonville Beer Festival. The six of us came from all different places in CA, OR, and Chicago for me! We had such an awesome time at this beautiful rental house! The home had everything we could have needed! The kitchen was stocked with everything the comforts of home would have, the fireplace provided a perfect setting for good talks and sing-a-longs, and the hot tub was very relaxing! It was private and had a great view when the fog cleared. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The owner got back to me over emails every time I wrote him with questions before we got there and the pictures and description of the house was right on the money. The house was decorated and set up so nicely. I would highly recommend this house and we all hope to have a girls weekend once a year there!

The part I liked best about the house is you can sit in the bedroom or living room with a pair of binoculars and gaze at the ocean. The house is old but clean and charming, and is stocked with most stuff you would need on vacation (and are liable to forget to bring along) - kitchenware, towels, toiletries etc. I found the owner is very nice and easy to work with. The three bedrooms easily sleep 6 and then there is room for a couple more. Certainly going back here!

Our extended family of 9 stayed 4 days over Thanksgiving with no more than the usual degree of drama. The bedrooms are good-sized with the upstairs being very big. It has a wide span of windows looking out to the cove below. The upstairs bath is big and clean but with tub only. There is a handheld shower hose that works fine for shampooing. It also has a span of windows that provide plenty of light. The downstairs bath is small with shower, sink and toilet and is also clean and light. The mattresses were brand new and very comfortable. The gas-fired stove in the living room along with the upstairs ceiling fan kept the whole house warm. There are plenty of games, CDs and DVDs and a good-sized flat panel TV with satellite and DVD player. The kitchen is big and has everything you need, don't bother to bring your coffee maker or grinder or blender. Washer & dryer are fairly new and located off the kitchen in a laundry room. The deck is huge, wrapping around 3 sides with the hot tub at one end off the downstairs bedroom. There is no cell coverage in the area until you get north to Mendocino, however the landline can make local calls out and receive all calls. The photos don't fully describe the size and comfort of the home. The owner is friendly and very responsive to questions. Both the town of Albion and Mendocino are close and have some good restaurants. I especially recommend the Bay View Cafe and Cafe Beaujolais in Mendocino. In Fort Bragg our favorite by far is Carina's Fish Grotto down at the harbor. We had a great time and will definitely plan to return.

We loved the privacy of it all due to a gated entry. Very comfortable and cooking amenities were excellent. I didn't travel far the three days we were there, just once to the beach and I was very content to enjoy the view and relax. The boys did great on the abalone side, just having to go 2 miles up the road. Will definitely keep in mind for next year, but want one more day.

My family of 6 stayed 2 nights. Very comfortable once the house warmed up. Best part for my husband was the hot tub with great views. Grandchildren enjoyed the big wrap around porch. Close to Mendocino for a walk around town and looking at the rugged coastline. Very close to the Albion grocery store when you realize you forgot that one ingredient!!

The view is spectacular and the house has all the comforts of home. Couldn't have asked for a more peaceful, romantic and relaxing holiday weekend. We were particularly fond of the hot tub on the porch, overlooking the ocean. Both the town of Mendocino and Fort Bragg were short, beautiful drives away... but we also enjoyed staying in, with a bottle of local Artevino) wine (from Maple Creek Winery) and watching the sunsets. The house itself was clean and stocked full of top of the line appliances, soft towels and sheets. Added bonus the bed we slept on was super comfy. The owners are very nice, helpful and pet-friendly (our dogs had the time of their lives) We cannot say enough good things about our stay and will defiantly be returning!
