  I just booked another weekend at our favorite beach house in Brookings, Oregon. This will be our third time to return. As soon as we come back home everyone starts asking "Is it time for our Brookings trip?". We have added new friends to our group so we are no longer only work friends. The house is perfect for a larger group. We love looking at the sunset as we all chip in a cook great meals in the beautiful kitchen. We had a great hike up the Smith River this past trip, along with our beach walks two and three times a day. We never seem to have enough time to do all the things we want and by Monday we are sad our time is almost over. This home is perfect for us in every way and we all can only say great things about it. The home is always very clean and well stocked with supplies. The view is unreal from the livingroom to the kitchen. You can spend time just looking at the ocean and never grow tired of how beautiful it is. From the booking process to the end of the stay everything is very smooth and Marcia and her husband are very helpful along the way. We will return each year as long as the home is available.

  This was our first time using a rental home for vacation. We were very impressed. We had extended family with us and had a wonderful time! Marcia was wonderful to work with and the home was very clean. The location was ideal, right on the beach, walking distance into town, and quaint ice cream shops in the harbor. The house was very open and clean. The deck off of the master bedroom was wonderful. Our kids can't stop talking about what a wonderful time they had during our stay. We look forward to our next visit there.

  Excellent house, the view was awesome. Access to a beach that has everything (sand, surf, rocks, tidepools). Very secluded. From the air it looks close to 101 but it is up the hill through heavy vegatation and you cannot hear it over the ocean sounds. There is only one neighboring house below but it is hard to notice. The living room dining room and kitchen are all connected and with large windows facing the ocean. Close to Brookings. Very clean. I really have nothing negative to say about the house or the location.

  Our first ever vacation using a rental house, we are so happy that we chose Whales Way it is better then all the reviews we read. We could not ask for a better place to stay for two weeks with our 10yr old grandaughter. We, spent 5 weeks on the Oregon coast from Brookings to Astoria and Marcia/Whales Way get the best place to stay award. This is our 4th trip to the coast and we have stayed in some real nice places and we are planning our 2013 vacation now and we will be back to Whales Way! Thank you Marcia for making this house a home. GREAT PLACE, BEST VIEWS EVER!

  My husband and I decided to gather the kids and their families for a reunion once a year without the turmoil of a holiday.This is our second year and your property was a perfect fit. There was enough room to enjoy each other without being in anybodies way. There was plenty to do with the beach so close and the deck so comfortable. Our weather was perfect which helped. The house was completely supplied and especially clean. We are looking forward to next years reunion and the votes are looking good for another trip to Whales Way. We thank you for all your hard work and care.

  We were married on the beach at Whales Way and were able to house our entire family and a few guests there. It is a beautiful setting and awesome house. We felt very at home and relaxed. Marcia is a sweetheart and was very accomodating and helpful. We loved the deck off the master bedroom overlooking the ocean and it is a spectacular beach. I can not say enough good things about our stay there. You will not be disappointed.

  This house is everything and more. One could never say enough about the view, the easy walk to the beach, the fantastic home and beautiful kitchen. We rented the extra room and it was perfect since our group was over eight people. We all had such a great time that we have rented the home again for another fun weekend in the fall. Several of us have told other friends about this great home and as long as it is available we all will return for another girls weekend away. Marcia and her husband were very informative and great to work with so they only added to a great weekend.

  I lead a college career group for my church. We have grown quite a bit over the last 3 years and so finding a place that can accommodate a group of 20 to 30 is difficult. I was a little worried that when telling them the size of our group we would get an automatic no. However Marcia was very easy to work with and very flexable. We ended up with a group of 27 and you would have never known that we had 27 people in this house. We put the girls upstairs and the guys down stairs (we rented the extra room which was well worth it) and it worked out excellent. The kitchen, dining room and living room accommodated all of us very comfortably for meal times and devotions. All of that however, even though it was a blessing, did not compare to where this house is located. The view is worth every bit of the money. It felt like we had our own private beach, as the activity on the beach was very minimal. We set up our volleyball net and left it up and no one messed with it. Also there is a great place for a fire right at the end of the path from the house on the beach. The house as a whole was very functional and had everything that we needed (other than a rice cooker and coffee bean grinder, but we brought our own). I will certainly be pursuing this house in the future not only with the college career group, but also for family vacations and leaders retreats. One last Bonus and I already mentioned this but want to mention it again, is that Marcia was incredible to work with. She is very informative and left me with no open ended questions. Thanks for providing a place that really blesses people!

• Great Beach House

  My Wife & I decided to get away for a couple days on the spur of the moment and the Brookings area is a favorite place of ours to go, with that said trying to find something last minute is not easy! After making a few calls I got in touch with Marcia and she was not only a great help but made everything easy on such short notice since we still had a 7 hour drive to get there. The house was very nice, great location too, Even though the weather was bad (stormed almost the entire stay) but watching the storm and the waves from the frontroom through the large picture windows was amazing. Can't wait to come back with friends durring better weather. Thanks again for everything Marcia!

  This is a wonderful location and beautiful home. Our family enjoyed four wonderful days. Even during the three days of rain, we enjoyed the great views and played games, ate and reminisced. We walked the beach and hiked the trails to Harris Beach. We would definitely return for another family reunion.

Rates quoted above are based on "specials" of half off, 1 night free, etc.

Rates are subject to change until confirmed.

Pay in full if 45 days or less until stay, otherwise $500 deposit and remainder 45 days before stay. Refundable security deposit by separate check, $1000 shredded after stay.

Cancellation policy: Before 30 days of check in a refund minus $50 handling. Within 30 days of check in date the total payment for reservation is nonrefundable for any reason unless the same dates can be rented.

Winter $285 per night, special 4th night half off, 7 nights 1 free

Summer $299 per night, special 7 nights save 5%

Cleaning $150 2-4 days up to 6 guests $175 5 + days or 7 guests or more

Optional basement apartment: $350 one time fee up to 15 guests, add $10 per person 16-20 guests

Lodging tax INCLUDED.
