The Link House-Casual Elegance in Town, Peaceful Wooded Views
- Minimum stay:2 nights
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:Yes
Aside from the casual cottage style, there is little rustic about this eclectic 1951 Cape Cod in the quiet old Bryan golf course neighborhood. The cottage facade belies the large interior space which is updated throughout and ready for entertaining or quiet enjoyment for 1 to 10 or more guests. The house is available for game days or to host special events with small or larger groups. The Link House is one of the best private accommodations in BCS for comfortable retreats, TAMU events, holidays with family, wedding parties, family reunions, and more.
The Link House hosts small intimate groups and larger gatherings equally well. The living room is spacious and ready for quiet gatherings or table games. The large screen TV and high performance sound system are great for music, electronic gaming, cable TV, or full surround sound for movies on DVD or streaming from the internet.
The house kitchen is open, completely updated and well equipped and stocked for breakfast or gourmet cooking. Serving and table service for 16 or more is available to guests. The kitchen opens over the bar to the Billiard Room for an extended gathering.
The Garden Suite is a wonderful mix of rustic and luxurious. It is ready for overnight accommodations with a private entrance, refrigerator, gourmet coffee and tea service, and flat screen TV. The room is spacious and comfortably furnished with antiques and rustic garden style pieces. Windows on three sides view the patio, woods, and garden. It features an elegant private bath, and one of the most luxurious king beds you have ever experienced (it cradles you in down-filled splendor). The large antique day bed can comfortably sleep an additional guest. Guests can always find breakfast, drinks, and snacks in the house kitchen.
Two upstairs bedroom suites feature vaulted ceilings, private sitting areas, private baths, and luxurious queen beds with ultra-soft, down-filled bedding. The reading loft is a cozy semi-private retreat and has often slept a child or small adult on the large chaise lounge. A queen-size and a twin-size aerobed are also available.
The kitchen and guest rooms overlook the large patio and woods outside. You can watch finches, cardinals, jaybirds, mockingbirds, squirrels, hummingbirds, rabbits, dragonflies, and a few surprise visitors feeding and moving about the patio and woods adjacent to the creek on the premises. The fire pit is great for a quiet fire on a cool evening or for grilling or open pit barbecue on game or event days. Outdoor seating is available for large groups.
The Link House is convenient to everything in the BCS area. Shopping centers and many of the best local restaurants and shops are nearby. Chicken Oil, historic Martin’s Barbecue, and The Farm Patch are just around the corner. Northgate and Main Street Bryan are a short drive away. Event venues and sports facilities are easily reached and the Bryan Municipal golf course is one block away. The TAMU campus is a little over one mile down Wellborn or South College, and Blinn College is a short, easy drive up Villa Maria. Convenient transportation to either campus is available through the shuttle service with a stop just one block down the quiet street.

This was a perfect place to stay for a weekend reunion with college friends. There are 3 lovely bedrooms each with their own bath and we even set up one couple on the air mattress in the living room. It was a comfortable stay for all 4 couples. We loved sitting outside on the great patio catching up. The house is so cute and well-kept, and the caretaker extremely hospitable. Not one complaint. We'll definitely be back next year!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

mY FAMILY CAME FROM CALIFORNIA , SOME FROM L A AND SOME FROM SAN FRAN. TOGHETHER WE STAYED @ THE LINK HOUSE ON LABOR DAY WEEKEND 2012. we HAD A BALL. OUR KIDS LOVED THE HOUSE, ENJOYED PLAYING POOL, WATCHING MOVIES ON THE BIG SCREEN. ONE OF OUR HIGHLIGHTS IS THE OUTSIDE PATIO AND FIREPLACE. MY FAMILY FROM TEXAS JOINED US FOR A NIGHT ON THE GRILL. VERY NICE BAR B Q PIT,VERY NICE OUTSIDE LIGHTS THAT LIGHT UP THE BACK YARD. THIS IS A REALLY NICE PROPERTY WITH LOTS OF SPACE.. OUR FAMILY HAD A GOOD TIME. IF I WAS TO SAY ANYTHING THAT WAS SURPRISING, IS THAT THEIR WAS NOT A TV IN ANY OF THE UPSTAIRS BEDROOMS. THAT ALSO IS A GOOD THING, BECAUSE WE ALL SHARED TV TOGETHER.. VERY NICE.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children.

My husband is in a wheel chair, so we needed a handicapped accessible house. It would have been nice if the entryways were flat and the ramp was concrete, but he was able to move around fairly easily. There was room for everyone to have some space. We enjoyed watching the birds on the back porch and playing pool. It would have been nice to have cable in the master bedroom, also. There was plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable in the living room, though. The house is close to A &M. We were there for my niece to get her ring.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, people with disabilities.

Went to College Station to visit with family and the link house was perfect for us. We enjoyed the spaciousness and comfort. It also included a pool table and dart board, which we didn't expect. Thank you for opening your home to my family. MahaloRecommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children.

December 23 – 29 2010 We had a great time with family, especially the grandkids. It was a Merry Christmas for us. That’s for sure. Had trouble with a COLD Master bedroom & confusing light switches, but everything else was GREAT. Thanks a lot – James & Darleen O. From an email in January 2011: We recieved our deposit check. Thank you. We just wanted to thank you again for all the extra things you did for us when we stayed at the Link House. We loved it and you were so gracious and kind to do the decorations, tree, cider and cookies. It was really extra special. Any time we are in need of a home or know anyone that might be coming to the area, we will gladly recommend you to them. It was a wonderful Christmas for all of us.Did you find this review helpful?
