Wow! We are just back from a ski weekend at this amazing loft in the no less amazing Woodstock village, and I must say that this was one of the most memorable rental experience in my life (and I have rented plenty of vacation houses, cottages, lofts, etc. ...). The place is super clean and even nicer and bigger than the photos suggest. The loft is super well equipped, with two walk-ins, washer and dryer, full kitchen, glasses, cutlery, etc. and everything is basically brand new. It even has a high end coffee machine, with coffee included, which is nice if you get in late and can't do grocery the first day. The owner is super welcoming, warm and available, but also extremely discrete. There are plenty of amazing restaurants in the 5-minutes away (on foot) Woodstock Village (our favorite by far being the amazing country Italian cuisine offered at Osteria Pane e Salute based on the owners' traveling experiences in Italy), plus numerous country stores and farmers markets nearby where you can make quality grocery shopping (local products such as cheese, bread, charcuteries and wines), or buy quality ready-to-eat full courses meals. In my experience, the only village in the green or white mountains (Vermont and NH) that provides as nice an overall experience as Woodstock might be Stowe, although Stowe is slightly more commercial and now less authentic than Woodstock. The loft is about 25 minutes from majestic Killington ski resort (and just 2 hours from Boston) which we found to be one of the best place to ski all types of terrains in an A1 environment (19 lifts, 7 parks (some of which the length of a full run!)). But the distance from the ski resort is was not an issue for us since most stores where you'll buy your grocery or wine are on this 25 min path. 5 stars for sure and we hope to be back soon!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We are just back from a fabulous trip here. What made our stay even more memorable was the 'home away from home' accommodation we were lucky to find. This beautiful, cosy apartment/chalet was absolutely fantastic in every way. I would HIGHLY recommend this accommodation for anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable getaway. This one bed apartment was plenty big for my husband and I and our 2 young boys. There were 2 large walk-in closets which my boys used as playrooms (one of my sons even slept in one of them one night). My sons are 4 and a half, and 20 months. They had a blast. It was safe (especially for my 20 month old), warm, spacious and very comfortable. The bonus part in finding this accommodation was that it came with THE nicest owners! They could not have been nicer or more accommodating to our every need. While we were there our 20 month old looked for every possible place where he could get into trouble and each time he'd start to get into something, we'd mention it to the owner and he would manage to somehow foil his plans of mischief by putting up locks, gates, you name it! He was great. It is walking distance to the town but I would recommend having a car while there. The onwers were so kind they let us use their garage for our car while they parked outside in the snow! We really had a lovely time staying at this apartment. We will definitely stay here again on our next ski trip.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I recently stayed at this property and it was exactly what we wanted! We have both been working long hours at work and wanted a quiet little place to relax with no pressure and the freedom to come and go as we pleased. This apartment was wonderful! It is so charming with the log cabin feel, was super clean and had everything you could want! We had our own entrance, our own garage spot and were never bothered through our stay! My husband and I decided we want a vacation home just like this place - we can't say anything bad about our stay and would 100% stay again! As for the town, it was the perfect retreat! We took the dining suggestions Bob and Sherry gave us and were not disappointed! If you stay here, do your self a favor and visit the Prince and Pauper for dinner one night - amazing meal and such a charming place! Thank you Bob and Sherry, we love your place and love your town! Hopefully we will be back in the future!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had a great stay in Woodstock over the long weekend after Thanksgiving. Bob was there to let us in upon arrival and show us around the space - and quickly enough that we were out the door in 30 minutes after a quick lunch to begin an afternoon hike. The apartment is perfect for a couple - we enjoyed reading on the comfy leather couch, and found the bed to be great. The log cabin feel of the interior was amazing. Couple considerations for visitors - bedroom is above the garage doors, but Bob and Sherri didn't use it early or late to wake us; bring a few extra utensils if needing oven gear (baking sheets, pots) - most of the tools are for stovetop. Plenty of day to day spices & quick tools to cook a good meal. And the coffee pods were an add on I enjoyed much! And bring slippers or warm socks - wood floors were chilly in the AM! Woodstock is amazing year round, esp during this time of year - and this cute place just a 5 minute hill walk down to town was the perfect location. We'll definitely return! COwner response: Extra bakeware, cookware, blender etc. have always been available for the asking but we were remiss in not mentioning this in our welcome letter. The slipper suggestion is a good idea; we will mention it on the website.

The place we found for a leaf peeping weekend based in Woodstock, VT was perfectly located. The owner, Bob, gave me his cell phone number, driving directions, and met us on arrival. He had local maps, driving suggestions, as well as restaurant recommendations ready for us. Bob was most cordial. The property was a clean 1 BR built above the garage with full kitchen and den. It is a short drive to the center of Woodstock where we enjoyed strolling the streets. Gillingham's General Store is the place to go for everything from waders to wine. The Trattoria is a relatively newly opened restaurant on Pleasant St. They were suffering from an incomplete kitchen (oven not finished) and a full house of customers the weekend we were there, but the food they had was excellently presented, and delicious. Note that the property is not a B&B, but does have a Keurig coffee maker (hurrah) to get your morning started. Mac's is the grocery store to get things not found at Gillinghams in order to cook "at home". Silverware, dishes, knives, basic pots & pans etc are provided. The one caution is to ask Bob if his children and grandchildren will be staying in the main house. If so, it will be very loud.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Staying at Bob & Sherry's was a great experience. They treated us with nothing but friendliness and kindness, and they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and informed about the area. All of Bob's travel/sight seeing suggestions were spot-on...couldn't have been better. And Sherry was always warm and welcoming with every need taken care of. They're just GOOD people! The location of the apartment was great. As others have mentioned, it is close to town and convenient. You get a real sense of actual Vermont living when you stay there. That was important for us. Forget San Francisco...I left my heart in Woodstock!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Bob was a great host and useful resource to guide us on where to eat (lobster down near the stream at the snack shack), where to hike, and where to see a working farm. We have driven past this home many times while visiting the Woodstock area. We had no idea what a gem it was until our recent stay. We visit the area every year for a horse show at GMHA and this was a wonderful respite from the hectic day at the showgrounds. The apartment was quiet, stayed cool in very warm weather, very clean and charming. My husband, two grown children and I stayed for the weekend. It was close to town (easy to walk down to) but still far enough away so it provided a nice quiet spot to relax. Bob and Sherry were wonderful hosts. They provided a very good amount of information about the area and introduced us to a new restaurant (now one of our fav's). We dined at Simon Pearce (always a favorite), Prince & Pauper (new fav) and Mon Vert Cafe (great little breakfast and lunch spot on main street). We will definitely return next year!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I had visited Woodstock 15 years ago, and wanted to show my wife and son what I love about this town. I had searched for inns and B&B's in the area, and I'm so glad we found this place! The log cabin is just beautiful and we loved the apartment. Bob & Sherry are the owners, and they treated our car to a bay in the garage. The door to the apartment was right next to our car. Great for avoiding the weather and for unloading our luggage and groceries. We saw 3 deer and 2 huge, beautiful woodpeckers in the woods, right out the back window. My son got a huge kick out of that. I think Bob & Sherry said they had lived in Woodstock for about 40 years. They had all kinds of neat info about the town and gave us great leads for fun activities for our son (Billings Farm, VIN's raptor center and the Montshire Museum to name a few). It gave us a real feel for Vermont. They also had some puzzles, toys and books for our son - which was great since we had packed a little light. The town is just adorable, and we strolled down one day from the apartment it's a nice walk down the hill (good exercise coming back). I loved the charming dirt road behind the house for my morning run - it ends up right at The Farmer's Market (another recommendation from the owners), where we kept going back for lunch. We look forward to our next Woodstock trip - this will be our place to stay!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Owners met us when we arrived and gave us the run down on the apartment. It was clean, well maintained, and very comfortable. The owners provided us with some great information on the local town (they even provided us with a free pass to the Billings Farm), and then they left us to our own devices for the rest of our stay. The apartment was short, easy walk (2-3 blocks) from town, we walked it even in the winter (but there was no snow on the ground). The apartment was perfect for our needs. We could make a hearty breakfast every morning, run a load of laundy, and have space to spread out and relax at night. As for things to do, there are plenty: Billings Farm (closes at 3:30 in the winter) Live Music at Bentley's (Monday Night, Trivia on Wednesday, plus other events) Skiing at Suicde Six (wonderful staff, fun skiing) Full moon hike on Mt. Tom (would be great to snowshoe or X-county ski) Shopping (cute stores with high quality and unique merchandise, reasonable prices) Prince and the Pauper (wonderful dinner) Long Trail Brewery (worth a stop in for some pub fare and good brews) Spa at Woodstock Inn and Resort (amazing seasonal signature service, ask for Greg) Woodstock was a little short on snow when we visited, but overall we had a wonderful visit and would recommend the town and the accomadations to others.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We just stayed at the apartment and found it to be equipped with everything you need. The apartment was very clean and cozy. You can walk to town but you have to walk up or down a large hill. In the winter with no sidewalk we thought this was dangerous so we always drove into town. If I was staying for a long time I would stay in this apartment but for a short stay I would stay closer in town.Owner response: Yes, most people would not walk to town in the winter months but it takes just 1 minute to drive to the center of the village. The reviewers did have the use of our garage for their car which we offer to any guests during inclement winter weather.

Bob and Sherry (the owners) were super helpful in answering any questions we had and giving us advice about where to go/what to do all over Vermont. I would absolutely recommend this property to my friends and family without any hesitation. It is centrally located to all sorts of fun/family/couple friendly day trips in Vermont and New Hampshire. This place is awesome. The apt. is beautiful and has everything you need-including a washer and dryer. It is very close to town and we never had trouble finding a parking spot in Woodstock. Bob and Sherry are INCREDIBLE. They are extremely friendly, knowledgeable about the area, and recommended many great places to eat, hike, and visit. The bed is super comfortable - I don't think I even turned over during the night. Even the sofa bed folds out and has a tempurpedic mattress - the only sofa bed I have ever laid on that was comfortable - it was great for vegging and watching TV at night. We even slept with the windows open - in June!!! - traveling from the 98 degree heat of Georgia - that was a treat itself. Woodstock is a great quaint town that is a close distance to anywhere you want to go in Vermont or New Hampshire-excellent base station for day trips. Everyone is super friendly and there are tons of scenic places to visit. I can't say enough about this place. We only planned for 3 nights and once we got there, we wished we had stayed longer. My partner and I both highly recommend this place!!!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This pristine apartment is so cleverly tucked in to the backside of this lovely, recently built log cabin that you are hardly aware of the attachment. It is absolutely brand new through out, with a great little kitchen, eat at bar, and open siting area. The bed is amazingly comfortable and I slept later than I had in years thanks to the wonderful room darkening shades!! Even the gorgeous leather sleeper sofa was very comfortable according to my 13 year old! The town of Woodstock could not be more beautiful and my two daughters and I never ran out of fun things to do! The Belisles are the kindest most helpful people you could meet with endless info on what to do. The location is unbelievably close to town and all in all an absolute gem. I was searching for the perfect birthday gift for my husband - and feel so lucky to have stumbled on this amazing getaway! Bob and Sherry were gracious and kind and so enthusiastically welcoming - they made sure we had every bit of info we could want and everything for our stay we could need (including sleds for the hill in town!). And I have to say, they managed to create an apartment that's both brand new and seeped in sweet cabin charm - I agree with the author in the review above - the pictures do not do it justice at all! One of the best parts was that it snowed a ton while we were there, and we just popped on our snowshoes and went exploring all over - everything in Woodstock is so close - from mountaintop climb to organic market to pub to bookstore to.......... I couldn't have dreamed up a more perfect gift. Thank you Bob and Sherry, we hope to see you again soon!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The apartment is beautiful and well appointed with a new leather couch and a great kitchen. It was perfectly clean and tidy. It was quiet and had beautiful views. I was able to walk into town quickly and easily, I enjoyed the quiet stroll on the road. The owners are wonderful and were extremely helpful without ever being intrusive! They recommended places to eat and things to do that I had never done before, despite my previous trips to the area. When I wanted to relax at the end of the day the flat screen television was a treat and the fast wireless allowed me to watch movies on my laptop too. You will not be disappointed if you stay here! There are fabulous restaurants in town and even a spa within walking distance. The area has lovely hiking trails and tons of outdoor fun. The apartment is so beautiful. Even with 2 days of pouring rain, you had so many suggestion of places to visit indoors. We had a lovely time. (Colorado)Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Thank you for renting the apartment to us this weekend and all the tips for things do do! We loved Sculpturefest, which we didn't know about. We will definitely recommend to friends and family! (Boston)Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

My husband and I rented this apartment with our two young children for a long term stay while we considered purchasing a home in Vermont. It was much better than we expected - the space worked perfectly for us. It is practically brand new and felt like our own cozy escape. The wood is BEAUTIFUL. It is a 10-minute walk or 2-minute drive to anything in the village (a new experience for New Yorkers). The kitchen is wonderfully social. It was especially nice to have free wifi, a dishwasher, washer and dryer. There is a big closet. And there's parking for several cars. It is just a 25-minute drive to Dartmouth or Killington. The Belisles were very hospitable and provided all sorts of sound advice. We've since had friends stay there and they said they enjoyed it as well. We wouldn't recommend it for more than 4 people. But this place would work very well for a romantic getaway, a small family escape, a girls weekend or for a small group of friends.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for the kind review. We've since made further improvements to the decor and will soon upgrade the sofabed. We hope to see you again.
