Casa Encantado is situated on 4.5 acres just a five minute drive from The Plaza. The four thousand + square foot house is nestled into the pinons, giving the residents a feeling of complete solitude. The territorial-style home was built in the early 1950's, and was remodeled in 2000 to have plaster walls, beautiful hardwood floors, travertine tiles in the bathrooms, and slab granite countertops in the kitchen.
The decor is tastefully done in Santa Fe style with over-stuffed leather pieces, kilim covered occasional chairs, distressed pine dining table, antler chandelier, Indian drum coffee table, and Remington bronze statues throughout, just to mention a few of the touches you willl find here. You will be able to sleep ten people very comfortably.
You enter the home through a beautiful set of double pine doors with peek-a-boo windows. Just off the foyer is a quiet study with a desk where you will find a home office with internet, printer and fax.
You move into the living room from the foyer which has a conversation area in front of the fireplace, a game table, and a quiet seating area for two. The dining table which seats ten is just off the side of the living room, with French doors leading out to the expansive outdoor patio.
Leading into the kitchen is a wet bar butler's pantry, and a powder room. The kitchen has a large butcher block island with two stools, and is completed with all the very best appliances in stainless steel.
There is also outdoor dining under the portal with a propane bar-b-q grill.
You step down off the flagstone portal onto the patio which is appointed with outdoor chairs and chase lounges. When the evening chill sets in, you can light up a fire in the outdoor fireplace which is overseen by another beautiful bronze of an Indian Mother with her baby. Just inside attached to the master suite, is an entertainment room with Dish and Blu-Ray. there is a stone fireplace in the corner, three Eames chairs to relax in, as well as super comfy sofa covered in fun leopard print velvet. There is also another wet bar, so you don't have to go to far for a refreshment.
The master bedroom has a antique pine four poster king-size bed, furnished with fabulously comfortable linens and pillows. There is a kiva fireplace, Dish and VCR, and several chairs to relax in. The master bathroom is decked in travertine tile, and boasts a huge double shower which can be filled with water and used as a tub.

The lower level has a fitness room, laundry facility, and steam and regular shower in the bathroom. There are two bedrooms on the lower level with twin beds in each room.
Casa Encantado also has and attached apartment approximately 1000 square feet. The apartment has a full bath, full kitchen, big screen tv, stone fireplace, queen size bed, and a billiard table.
Additional Rental Information:
*Children are welcome. Please take care of the valuables within the house, keeping them out of reach when necessary.
*No one under the age of eighteen (18) is allowed int eh hot tub without adult supervision.
*Minimum four night stay.
*Balance due six weeks prior to rental.
*$500 security deposit fully refundable if no damage or excessive cleaning fees.
*Cleaning fee $300
*No more than ten (10) persons may sleep at the house each night. Guests on property may not exceed fifteen (15) people without written consent of the owner or manager.
*Larger parties/social functions require additional rental fees if approved by Owner or Manager.
*Tax according to current law. This is a licensed short term rental home. Taxes are currently included in the price.
*Advanced rental deposit of $1,550 is due at time of signing agreement. (Security deposit-$500, Cleaning fee-$300, One night stay-$750.
*Rental Deposit Refund Policy:90% of the rental rate is refundable anytime except: 30 days or less before checkin. Then 50% of rental rate is refundable.

Amenities of property were not as advertised. No wifi was available due to an unpaid bill. The cable boxes had been removed therefore no cable television. The dryer and trash compactor were not working. Our experience with the owners has not been pleasant. We initially dealt with one of the owner's sons who was removed from management of the property for unknown reasons. We then dealt with a second son who also became uninvolved with the property. My attempts to notify the owner about these issues have been unanswered. This property is poorly managed and clearly nobody seems to be in charge.

House is beautifully sited on a hill overlooking Santa Fe--very private and totally indigenous to the native Santa Fe decor. Home is very comfortably and completely furnished; was clean and had all the conveniences one could want for a restful and relaxing stay.....provided you have a car/rental, as you fly into Albuquerque (+/- 1-hrs. drive); home is located 5-mins drive from Downtown Plaza. It's so much more charming than staying at a hotel....if you plan a week or more. VERY delightful!

Very enjoyable stay. BBQ didn't work. Loved the decor and location. QUIET! Close to fine golf on the Santa Fe Trail. The Shed. Gabriels. and Tia Sophia's were great dining experiences. Golf Black Mesa - it is a challenge and enjoyable.

Let me say that we had a wonderful time in Santa Fe and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Encantado! What a perfect location and property for the six of us. Since it was warm during our stay we spent a great deal of time on the patio, enjoying the landscape and peace and quiet. It’s amazing that you can be so close to town and seem so isolated. It is a jewel of a property and allowed all three couples to spread out within the large living space. Everyone loved the interior, everything from the beautiful furnishings to the plastered walls. All of the living and outdoor spaces were very clean and tidy. The kitchen is very nicely equipped with professional appliances and very convenient for patio entertaining. We were only a few miles from the opera and about the same distance to the town square. For many years we have been visiting Santa Fe and have previously stayed in hotels. Increasingly we have found them to be confining and noisy and if staying within the square parking was always an issue. The last 3 years we have rented homes in the local area and as our group has grown, we have needed larger homes. This property fit the bill perfectly and has also been the best property we have rented. We found the web description to be accurate in its description. It has already been requested that we return next year to the same location and extend our stay. I would recommend this property without reservation.

This house is truly inviting, from its location to downtown and nearby golf courses, magnificent back yard with fireplace, cozy beds, to beaufiful art collections. We would highly recommend this house and would love to go back myself!

A great house
We had 4 couples stay and this house and it was great. The feel of the house is so in tune with Santa Fe. I would highly recommend this property. The location is superior and the outdoor area very enjoyable.

The fireplaces are working wood burning fireplaces. All county guidelines regarding fire restrictions during high risk times must be followed. Although our sewage system is very effective, it will clog up if improper material is flushed. Tenant and Tenant’s guests agree to not flush anything other than toilet paper down the toilets. No feminine products or foreign objects should be flushed at any time. In the event that a plumbing incident occurs due to improper flushing, Tenant shall be held liable for any plumbing charges. HOT TUB: Use of the hot tub/spa is done AT YOUR OWN RISK. Use of a hot tub/spa carries risk that may result in serious injury or death. Neither Manager or Owner are liable for any accidents caused by use of the hot tub/spa. Hot tub/spa rules must be followed at all times. Failure to do so could result in injury including drowning and/or loss of Tenant’s security deposit. If we are forced to drain and refill the hot tub/spa due to guest abuse, we will deduct the cost from the Tenant’s security deposit. The hot tub/spa cover is for insulation purposes and is not designed to support a person or persons. Do not stand or sit on the hot tub/spa cover or on the edges of the hot tub/spa.
