This lovely adults-only home is cozy, comfortable and inviting. The split layout offers everyone privacy with a master suite on one side of the house and the guest quarters on the other. There are large closets in both areas. Open the pocket sliders and the pool and lanai become part of the living room. The full kitchen is equipped with everything the home cook could want. Sit out on the lanai and in front of you is an estuary of Alligator Creek. Look to the right and you see a bird sanctuary. Look to the left and you see a privacy fence which separates you from the only neighbors - a lovely family who are very helpful but respectful of privacy.
The community of South Venice owns its own beach reachable only by a ferry which is restricted to residents. At the ferry dock, there is also a boat ramp into the inter-coastal waterway. These facilities are 1/2 mile from your front door and you will have full free access to both. You will also be near a community park which is the origin of the Legacy Bike/Walking Trail which stretches all the way to Sarasota. The home is located near 3 airports - 30 minutes from Sarasota, 60 minutes from Ft. Myers, and 75 minutes from Tampa. Exit 193 on I-75 is 15 minutes away.
The home is well located for the Arts, being just minutes from the Venice Little Theatre in downtown Venice as well as being within 1/2 hour of all the theatres and museums in Sarasota. Markets and shopping abound. You are, of course, surrounded by golf courses (We are talking Florida, after all!) Within a several mile radius, there is horseback riding, canoeing, kayaking, hiking - just about everything you could want (Well, no snowboarding - Florida, don't you know.)
It is just lovely - period.

Year Purchased: 2008
About the owner: We are a couple who came to Venice over the holidays 2007 to see how we liked it. Obviously we liked it a lot! In fact, we bought the house before the week was out. We planned to use the house as our snow-bird nest and did so for 3 years. We met so many lovely people locally that we decided to relocate to Venice. We bought another house 10 minutes from the rental and moved there Fall 2010. We decided to keep this unit because we have many friends who also snow-bird. The person who rents this unit might be a new one of those friends!
Why the Owner Chose South Venice:
We chose this little oasis because it looked like a smaller version of the oasis we had elsewhere. It is totally private and quiet yet accessible to everything. We just fell in love with it.
