  My niece and I stayed at this property for ten days and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves-once you enter the compound you have your own private slice of heaven. It is beautiful, tranquil and the view from the tower is gorgeous, particularly when getting a private massage there! The staff, Ketut, Mantini and Wayan were extremely caring people and all of our needs were totally taken care of. We loved the area and felt safe to walk to local restaurants and yoga studios, no matter what time of the day, plus a private taxi service would come to the villa with only a few minutes notice. I would highly recommend this property for anyone who is looking for a beautiful, quiet peaceful place to stay!

  Our one-week stay at Pondok Made Made was truly wonderful and a great start to our vacation in Bali. The villa and grounds are immaculate, and the staff always very helpful. We specifically wanted to be outside Ubud, where the traffic has gotten pretty heavy. The villa is located in the quiet village of Penestanan, about a 30 minute walk on a footpath to downtown Ubud. Several great restaurants and shops are nearby. Thanks for helping make our trip so memorable!

  My family had one of the best weeks of our lives at this villa. It is an absolutely gorgeous property, secluded, tastefully decorated, spacious, and with every amenity. The staff, Mantini, and Wayan, treated us like family, giving their all to make sure we had everything we could possibly desire. Their smiling faces were a delight to see every morning. The villa is in an excellent location, in a lovely little village so that you can really feel like you are living the wonderful local Balinese culture. At the same time, you may walk to bustling Ubud to enjoy it's many restaurants and shops. Art galleries are ubiquitous, and the staff can tell you where to rent motorbikes cheaply, or where to buy stunning batik at locals' prices. Do not hesitate to reserve this magical place! One recommendation, if you have VERY young children, you may not want to put them in the second bedroom as the two bedrooms are not connected, but separated by the garden and pool area. There was enough room in the master bedroom, however, for my young daughter and baby to stay with us, and my 10 year old son slept in the second bedroom with no issues.

  My father and I stayed at Pondok Made Made for just three nights, at the end of our three week stay in Bali. We were blown away at how beautiful and well taken care of this property is. The photos on this site truly don't do it justice...it's far more beautiful in person. We thought the photos looked lovely when we viewed VRBO, but our jaws dropped when we saw the space in person. There are two separate little "villas" with large beds, and gorgeous bathrooms. The kitchen and living room is open-air style, and nice and cool with the overhead fans. The pool is fantastic, and the patio that overlooks the ricefield is a great place to relax and read a book. We found Pondok Made Made to be a wonderful place to relax at the end of our trip, and having a motorbike to get to and from town was a breeze. If we return to Bali, we would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

  The gorgeous gardens provide the perfect surrounds to this luxurious villa, making for a wonderful place to stay. There is no need to leave Pondok Made Made for much at all- with the pool to relax by, several separate spaces to sit and read or nap at, a very functional kitchen and beautiful rooms to sleep in, there is everything you need within the villa compound. The gardens are beautiful and the staff make sure that everything is looked after impeccably. The location is also perfect, just a short stroll through the working village to local warungs and shops. It is wonderful to be among the Balinese village life. The view over the rice paddies emanates peace and calm. A great place to spend weeks of time in Ubud!

  My partner and I spend a week at Pondok Made Made in December and had the best vacation experience ever! From the moment we were met at the airport by Ketut (the property manager) then by Mantini (the cook) who had tropical drinks ready for us as we walked in the big carved door, we knew we were going to have a great time. The home is spectacular! All local materials with amazing craftsmanship in every detail. The living/dining area looks out over the central garden and pool to the two separate bedroom pavilions. Each has a beautiful indoor/outdoor bath with shower. The view from the second floor pagoda allows you to see the surrounding rice fields and villages. Every morning we had a beautiful breakfast that we had selected from the menu the day before so that Mantini could go to the market for the freshest fruit and eggs. It's a short walk into Ubud passing through areas of shops and cafes, seeing locals putting out their daily offerings, children and dogs and chickens all running around you. We had arranged a masseur to come to the house every day at 5:00 for 90 minute massages! It was heaven! We also had arranged to have a driver every day to show us around the island. It was a good way to see the local perspective and see sites that we would normally not see. He even took us on a day hike thru the rice paddies on trails that took us to amazing views on top of ridges surrounded by lush jungles. We can't wait to go back and spend a month there in paradise!

  I have been holidaying in Ubud for 6 years and rented many houses but Pondok Made-Made outshines them all. The house is fabulous-gorgeous garden,great sized pool,fantastic indoor/outdoor living spaces. As it has 2 separate villas with ensuites it is perfect for 1-2 couples or a small family. What I love is that it is behind the village of Penestanan so you feel part of the real Bali rather than the tourist Bali. It is quiet and has great views and Mantini and Wayan the staff are angels. We have stayed there 4 times. it is paradise!!

  I new as soon as i walked in the carved gates of Pondok Made Made that i had found a very special place !!! if you are looking for a place that is private and has all the comforts of home then this is it !!! i loved my bedroom with lovley crisp sheets and private indoor out door bathroom !!! i felt like a princess !!! Thankyou to Montini the house keeper for looking after me so well !!! 20 mins walk from Ubud 5 mins walk to great food at Made's or 5 mins to Ubud by motor bike/car !!! parking !!! wi fi !!! very private !!! i carnt wait to come back asap THANKYOU Pondok Made Made lisa AUSTRALIA
