Why the Owner Chose Auxerre
We bought this house in the countryside over 10 years ago to relax around the fireplace or under the trees in the orchard and enjoy all the unique features of the region. Walks around the village and other little towns of the region, fresh markets in the villages, eat fresh farm produces or at small restaurants in the area. And a safe place for our children to play outdoor and learn about the French country life. We hope you'll enjoy the house as much as we do.

We had a very good time at your place. Our son loved to pick apples from the trees everyday. A good place for a kid to run around in the yard, all the amenities you need and lots of space. Had very good contact with the owner through email and everything worked out great. If you look for a relaxing place and like to listen to The Cure records at noght while drinking wine in the garden...this is your place!
Recommended for:Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

We were looking for a quiet relaxing get-away for a week with the family. With four adults and three children we wanted space and local attractions that would keep everyone amused and allow for some down time and relaxation into the bargain. The area around Auxerre has always been a favorite of ours and the Vicarage seemed a good choice providing some peace and quiet from the hustle and bustle of large towns. With its placement so close to the wonderful towns of Chablis and Auxerre and the many attractions of the region we could have happily stayed for a month. The Vicarage has been sympathetically modernized to provide a warm and comfortable space. The rooms are all of a good size and all amenities are maintained to a high standard. The beautiful garden / orchard and courtyard provide all the space you need and an extensive music and video library means rainy days are not a problem with the kids. Add to this the wonderful Patisserie just 20 steps from your front door and you have the perfect retreat you are looking for. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at the Vicarage made even more pleasant by the owners who could not have been more helpful or obliging. They say the proof of the pudding is in the eating and I would most certainly return for seconds in this instance. Top marks, fully recommended.
