We were two families with four adults and six teens between us. This home exceeded our expectations! The teens loved the pool table, big screen TV and the kayaks. Even though it was March, three of them had a quick dip in the lake! We can only imagine how wonderful it would be in the summer. Sleeping arrangements were comfortable and easily managed for the ten of us. The loft sleepers did find waking up with the adults are little early due to the openess of the space. The main floor living and kitchen area were comforting and warm. We loved the kitchen and shared lots of laughs during cooking and eating times! The caretaker( lived close by) was wonderful to deal with if we had any questions. Our conversations and emails with Cindy (the owner) were detailed and promptly answered. Directions were thorough and concise. The details in the preparation and in the home were noticed. We look forward to visiting again... soon we hope! this place is a wonderful gem.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Thanks for a wonderful stay at your beautiful house Cindy. We had some really good quality family time with our 2 daughters and son in laws and our 1 year old grandaughtrer (and our chihuahua!) Views are spectacular over the lake. Hard to believe you are only 15 minutes from Bellingham!! You feel as if you are way out in the country. We even had the kayaks out on the lake and it was Feburary! We played snooker, board games and even cooked smores for dessert outside in the evening with the fabulour ourdoor fireplace. Thanks also for thinking of us and leaving a high chair and a playpen - saved us having to pack them in the cars. Very thoughtful of you. Hope we can do it again some time - kids are already talking about it!Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We really enjoyed the house and our stay. It was a gorgeous house in a lovely spot and was really warm and inviting!!! Lots of room for entertaining, fully loaded with all the comforts of home, plus a serene get away with gorgeous lake views and evening night fires, under the covered deck (this was our favorite!!). Thanks again for the stay and the warm touches the house offered, including the Christmas Tree and Holiday Decorations. We hope to come back!! We had a wonderful time at this lovely home. The views are even more spectacular than the website indicates. It is very nicely appointed with anything you could ask for in the kitchen and throughout the house. The house is extremely well taken care of. We thoroughly enjoyed the boat activity and the dock. There is lots of yard at the dock for children to play around too. One of the nicest features of the house is their deck for eating at night, covered in case of moisture, but also guarded from the hot afternoon sun, it's just beautiful. The loft bedroom is for the truly agile and not suitable for young children. We look forward to coming back to this "lakeside delight" again. This is truly a grand vacation spot!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

What an amazing weekend! The maid of honor did an excellent job choosing a place to celebrate. The Walker Lake House was fantastic and fit our every need. We had a great time hanging out and playing games in the great room. Listening to music over the incredible sound system and dancing into the night. The Patio's (there were a few) provided an excellent backdrop for downtime, storm watching and also for late night chats. The house was beautiful and intimate enough to provide a space for a true girls weekend, but also spacious enough to sleep 10!! Everything was clean and ready for us upon arrival and the housekeeper was very helpful when we needed her. We also had a great time kayaking and chilling on the dock, the Lake was stunning and we even got a chance to go for a dip (weather wasn't the greatest, but we got sun on the last day!). The owner was also great, even letting up hangout on the dock after checkout until we were ready to leave. It was such a fun weekend and it helped that the house was perfect, I don't think the bride, or any of us will soon forget; and we all agreed that we would be back! Thanks!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

Best out of 9 VRBO’s we have vacationed at offering exceptional value… We’re veteran house renters spending the past 9 years renting homes over Memorial Day weekend in the PNW. This home is TOP OF LINE construction with beautiful millwork, finishings, appliances and furniture … and smartly laid out to easily accommodated our group of 10. Then there’s the outside space --- Amazing! A large covered patio with quality and plentiful deck furniture, fireplace and grill/smoker. Plus another lower level patio open to the sun (which we had plenty of ?). The lake and mountains views are wonderful and the location is actually quite private (initially concerned about the road that separates the house from the beach, we quickly realized there’s very little traffic and noise). The owners are very friendly and accommodating, having furnished the house with several activity amenities like kayaks, paddle boat, pool table, games, and bikes and every possible cooking appliance and utensil. The website pictures do not really capture how nice this house is! It’s truly someone’s home, not just a rental property, and pride of ownership can be found everywhere. If this was my house, I’d be really hard pressed to rent it out!!!. Truly a fabulous family get away. The Walker’s Cabin Rocks. Cindy - Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us and making our Memorial Weekend 2012 the best ever! The house is beautiful inside and out with a private setting - we were there in the fall but it was still great! This is a brand new custom home that feels luxurious, with incredible views and lots of sunlight. There is plenty of fun stuff to do around the house - pool table, big flat screen, gas fireplaces, internet(unfortunately we had no wireless), bikes, kayaks, several decks, covered outdoor fireplace/grill with very nice seating. You have your own beach and dock, but there is a great park with trails and beaches less than 1 mile down the road, you can even hike right out the back door! - the whole area is very private since it's near the end of the lake road. I can't even imagine how fun it would be in the summer...an amazing place to bring the family and boat when it's nice weather. The owners are very nice also, but there were a lot of rules for the house....and we ended up worrying about that quite a bit. I would reccomend this place to vacationers that want a high end house to stay in with privacy, families or groups of at least 5 people, and if you have a boat it would be perfect!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: Hey Alecs, Thank-you for taking the time to write the review and critique our home. Comcast was to the home a few days before your stay to hook up the phone lines and we found out later bumped off the wireless. At the time, you said the plug in connection would be fine. Comcast came out to the home after the stay and fixed the problem. Alecs, when you emailed you said, "You were a student booking our home for your parents and they were bringing a large black lab dog". Typically young people do not book stays for their parents, therefore I believe any home owner would ask a few questions regarding who would be staying at the home, when parents would be coming and if the dog typically slept on beds or chesterfields. We pride ourselves in ensuring our guests are comfortable. Appreciate the 4 Stars. Sincerely, Cindy Walker

We needed a great place for a work retreat--something that would get everyone out of the city and away from their normal lives. We also needed a place refined enough for professional work to get done. With Cindy's cabin we got both. This place is simply a very nice house overlooking what turned out to be a beautiful lake, Lake Whatcom. None of us had been out to Bellingham before and we were really happy with the experience. We went out one night, but the other we cooked in and were able to make good use of the kitchen. Because we're an internet startup, (website hidden) , we needed great internet connectivity while we were there. The house had comcast high speed cable and a great router so we were hooked up. If we went again, we'd probably stay an extra night so we could enjoy the bikes and paddle boat a little bit. As it was, we still had a wonderful time. Cindy is very communicative and fair to deal with. I found her flexible to our specific needs of the stay and appreciated all the talk with her. She is rightfully passionate about her cabin!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2010
About the owner: We have been coming to Lake Whatcom with our boats for over 30 years. Lake Whatcom in Bellingham, forms part of the city's eastern border, and is about 14 miles long. Big enough to never tire of a boat ride and always a spot with calm water. Fabulous water sking, boarding or tubing. A lot of people fish, sail boat, parasail... We have towed our boat throughout the Fraser Valley & Interior and always come back to Lake Whatcom. A real paradise.
Why the Owner Chose Bellingham:
We particularly love the #1 location. We get sun all day long. We look across the lake in early afternoon and see homes in darkness. We are just 10 minutes to town, but away from the hustle and bustle of city life. We have 3 acres to enjoy. We have a wonderful sunny beach, plus trees to shade ourselves. We enjoy our early morning bike rides 1 mile down to Whatcom Park, then 3 miles along the lake trail and back home. Truly fabulous.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
If you are looking for a new home on a nature filled peace of property with a private beach and boat dock, with loads of parking and a spot to hook a RV trailer or Motorhome, with a fabulous new home, furniture, top of the line linens, fully stocked kitchen, 2 flat screens with cable tv and a pool table, just 12 to 14 minutes to Bellingham and Bellis Fair, 60 minutes to Mt. Baker and famous outlets centres and malls. You just found it. Took us 3 years to find a little bit of heaven.
