Downstairs the house features a living room with a beautiful wood burning fireplace for roasting marshmallows and warming cold noses, (we furnish the split stacked firewood). An HD flat screen TV with DirecTV and a DVD player, dining room with computer desk and WIFI connection, well equipped kitchen that features slate counter tops, JennAir stovetop, eye level oven, microwave and side by side fridge with icemaker and door dispensers, dishwasher, breakfast bar, dishes and silverware service for 12, and built in laundry room. There's a master bedroom with a king sized bed and a master bath. There is a deck outside the kitchen with a BBQ, table and lots of seating, a deck outside the front door to sit and drink your coffee and watch the wildlife and birds galore. When the wild geese fly over announcing their flight it is a sight to see and hear. (Even though we are in a subdivision it is not uncommon for us to have deer, squirrels, wild turkey, lots of hummingbirds and fox visit our yard).
Upstairs you will find two more bedrooms, one with a queen sized bed and one with two twin beds, a loft that serves as an extra bedroom with a queen sized bed and a twin bed, a computer desk with WIFI, and a deck with the most beautiful view of the mountains and Pagosa Lake. Sit on the deck outside the loft and watch the stars. The upstairs bathroom has the unique feature of the sink and shower in a separate room from the toilet (great for large groups). There is plenty of room for inflatable beds and sleeping bags as well.
We offer a detached media/game room located across the kitchen deck. It features a 42 inch flat screen HD TV with DirecTV, WII gaming system and games and a DVD player. The large sectional sofa features a double hide-a-bed. There is plenty of seating with extra large bean bag chairs and TV pillows along with a puzzle/game table for entertainment.
There are even sleds and electric ionic boot dryers on site if you come in the winter. There are four decks on this house, so take your pick where you want to relax.
It is so beautiful here and the seasons are well defined. The winter is just breathtaking with snow scenes and of course the winter sports. You have your choice of skiing and snowboarding at Wolf Creek Pass, ice fishing, sledding or taking a moonlight horse drawn sleigh ride. We watched a red fox walk down the middle of our road right after a snowstorm. It was an unforgettable sight.
Spring is an adventure from the time the snow starts to melt as you watch the plants come to life in all their glory and the return of the wildlife. The blooming flowers and plants are beyond description and they continue to bloom well into summer.
The summers here are mild and it cools off during the night. There are no street lights so it feels like you can just touch the stars and the moon. Take a hike, go horseback riding or take a river rafting trip. You won't be bored. When you are finished with your adventures wind down with a trip to one of the hot springs spas. They are very affordable and you will feel renewed and ready to go again the next day.
The colors of the changing leaves announcing the fall cannot be adequately described. We love sitting out on the deck watching the wild geese fly over in formation announcing their arrival.
You can actually hear their flapping wings. It is an unbelievable experience.
This home is centrally located. It is on a quiet street with a green space on one side and in the back so you get the feeling of being in the woods. You can stay in and cook a big family meal or order pizza. Make your experience whatever you want it to be. Come visit our home and make your unforgettable memories here. You will be in love with Pagosa Springs too!

Our stay in your charming cabin was just wonderful! I loved cooking in the well appointed kitchen and our boys had a ball sledding down the slope by the garage and digging out igloos from the snow that had fallen off the roof : ) We felt very much at home from the minute we arrived. The touches we most appreciated were the porch light being left on for our late night arrival, the movie selection that you provided, the local brochures on the desk, the sleds for our use, and the comfortable beds and thick towels. We feel very blessed to have beat the storm and to have made it up to Colorado. We look forward to returning to Pagosa Springs in a year or two. Maybe next time our friends can join us : ) Thanks again for opening up your home!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We recently traveled for a group ski trip and loved this house! We had a large group (4 adults, 1 teen, 4 kids) and it never felt crowded. The kitchen had all we need to make family meals, the kids loved the game room, and it felt like home. Pagosa Springs had lots of fun to offer, although after the amazing skiing at Wolf Creek we mostly just wanted to hang out and relax. The house was perfect for this. The owners saw to our needs, and were very easy to reach when we needed assistance.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, families with young children.

We certainly did enjoy our stay in Pagosa Springs. Fished the Piedra, Florida, and Vallecito Creek. Fishing wasn't great but it is hard to find a prettier part of the state to fish in. We look forward to returning to the area. Thank you for the hospitality. Your house was perfect for our stay.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 5/5

We had a wonderful time at your vacation rental. The kids really enjoyed sleeping upstairs. We had them sleep in the bedroom with two twin beds, in lieu of the loft, so we could close their door at night (and so we could stay up watching movies!). The kids enjoyed playing games in the recreation room over the garage. I think at one time, we had every single puzzle from the closet out and put together! We enjoyed Pagosa Springs. We took the kids hiking to Piedra Falls, horseback riding, spent a full day at the hot springs, spent a day in Durango and did some mild river rafting, tubed the river in Pagosa and then went geocaching south of Pagosa and into New Mexico one day. As we were packing up on Saturday morning, my three year old clearly stated that she didn't want to leave. She really enjoyed the house. The kids also enjoyed seeing hot air balloon each day and watching out for wildlife. Thank you so much for the hospitality. We hope to return someday in the not too distant future!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 6/6

We enjoyed our stay in Pagosa Springs and your house worked well for the eight of us. We did not use your entertainment area, but did spend time in front of the TV in the living room watching the Olympics. We loved your kitchen layout. At one time we had four of us preparing dinner and found it very workable! We hiked Fourmile Trail on Friday and got caught in rain on the way down. The weather was perfect on Saturday for our hike on the Rainbow Trail off West Fork Rd. Sunday we walked on wet trails in Reservoir Hill before soaking in the hot springs. Thank you for all your helpfulness and timely responses over the last few months.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 6/6

It was so nice to return after 10 months.. I enjoy the quiet and the whisper of the forest most of all, but a hot shower goes well with it! Yes, time just flew -- and it was time to go. We really did enjoy the place -- and on two nights even got the bowling game fired up! It's for the late nighters, of which we have a few. (I prefer a pillow, a dark room and stars out the window, but oh well). Tonight we're back at home -- and some of us are still kinda sore from yesterday's horseback ride (city slickers), but let me tell you those horses and the wildlife petting zoo out on Hwy 84 is a real must-do for families. (Our 26 & 28 year olds just loved it, in fact :-). It's a keeper. This visit was just a bit too cool at night to sit out on deck like in July and so instead we watched a lot of movies. Nevertheless it was yet another wonderful stay this time. I know circumstances change, but your colorful place will always be our first choice when heading down to the San Juan's -- and the great beauty of the state we live in. It is no exaggeration that your house in Pagosa Springs is our newly adopted home in the pines.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 6/6

What a fantastic place to bring the family together for Christmas. We had all ages and the house was perfect, from the roaring fireplace to the private game room. The surrounding area complemented the house with sledding right out the door and bigger hills just down the road. And Wolf Creek is probably the best ski area in Colorado for family skiing; the Wolf Pup program was a highlight for our young grandchildren. A special thank you to the owners; their responsive communication and special touches took the risk out of the transaction for us. Everything was as presented and more. I highly recommend this property to anyone that wants a great place to gather and enjoy Southern Colorado.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 10/10

Your pictures online are wonderful, and your description is well - wonderfully worded, however I must be honest - no one can truly describe the beauty, relaxation, and that good home feeling you have created here. It may be a paid for vacation, but you have made it a second home for us seriously. The heaters were on when we arrived!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you! That made it instantly perfect. From moment one in this home, I was home. Relaxation has never been this good, even with 11 people. The kids played in the snow, my wife, her sister, and their mother built a snowman out back. Then the kids built a snow wall, so the adults built one as well, and we had a snow ball fight from behind these "forts" - so much fun! We enjoyed some of the best sledding ever. By the way, your boot driers are absolutely amazing! Thank you for everything, we have had an absolutely magical family vacation.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 9/9

About the owner: We are the Hunts. We purchased this home as our future retirement home. We have used the home for many family get togethers, immediate family and extended family and friends. Everyone loves coming here so much we decided to branch out and share it by listing it here. There is something about Pagosa Springs that just gets to you when you visit and you can't imagine not coming back here. We love this home and tried to make it as inviting and comfortable as we possibly could because we know how precious those leisure moments are with family members. We hope everyone takes home many unforgettable memories after they stay in this home.
Why the Owner Chose Pagosa Springs:
We came to Pagosa Springs to scout for an elk hunting trip we had planned. The moment we arrived we were goners. We fell in love with the area, the town and the people. We ended up buying the house that same weekend. As soon as we walked in we just knew it was our house. We have been updating and improving it ever since and we are finally able to say it is finished. We just felt it was wasted sitting empty when we are not able to come here from Arizona so we decided to list it here and share the beauty and enjoyment we have experienced.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
As soon as you arrive here it is like someone pulls the plug and all of the stress drains from you. The scenery is beyond belief, the house is large enough for big groups without being crowded. There are enough diverse rooms that everyone can spread out and have something to do that is not intruding on anyone else. We have had quite large groups here and we have been very comfortable throughout the entire stay. There is so much to do in this area and an active nightlife as well. We love watching the wildlife. The deer will come right into the yard.
