Come relax and enjoy the peace, quiet and the gorgeous deck views of Morro Bay and Rock! Built in 2003, and remodeled in 2010, we call this studio our 'Casita' as it is located behind our main home, with complete separate entrance. The Casita was designed to offer maximum comfort in a very small space. When the unit is rented, the yard and large deck area are yours and yours alone. With outdoor sofa, large umbrella, and white stucco walls, the deck and brick patios add plenty of outdoor living space and stunning views.
For sleeping, the loft has a king sized bed complete with 100% cotton bedding and down comforter and includes a hinged ladder that can be stowed in the 'up' position when not in use. For those who'd rather not climb a ladder, the sofa converts into a full sized bed and also includes all cotton linens.
Kitchen area provides an apartment sized stove with 4 burners and gas oven, 3/4 sized refrigerator/freezer, coffeemaker, blender, dishes, and microwave. For eating inside, we've included a flip-down wall table and folding chairs that are easily stowed away when not in use.
Unit includes a bathroom with shower and towels are provided. The Casita has spanish tile floors, and also has a large storage cabinet and more storage above the sofa. We can also provide you with nearby hiking and biking information if you need it!
CD player/ipod/iphone dock stereo and CD library included.
Additional photos available upon request.
Please note - the casita does NOT include a dishwasher or closet (hooks ARE provided for hanging clothing).
Entrance to Casita is via brick walkway alongside our house. Please note that the unit is approx. 100 feet back from street, where you will be parking upon arrival.

My wife and I have stayed here twice and we love it. I almost don't want to write a review and give away this great deal. The casita is small but cozy rather than cramped. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare your own meals. There is a charcoal grill on the deck and the views of Moro Bay are incredible. This last Fourth of July we could see the fireworks in Moro Bay AND Cayucos from the back yard! There is a great coffee shop/restaurant within walking distance and it's near a National Audubon bird sanctuary (we saw baby great horned owls!). Los Osos is the prefect base for exploring this part or the Central Coast. We hope to come back soon!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

A wonderful little get away, I was there for some personal R&R and it couldn't have been better. Petite, cute and charming. The outdoor patio was a wonderful place for Breakfast al Fresco. Private, perfect and centrally located. Everything is within a few moments drive, or a lovely walk. I hate to write a review because I don't want the secret out. Fed the Artist Soul in me. I will be backRecommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This little casita is small, but welcoming and well organized. It has everything you need to enjoy your time around the San Luis area. The sleeping loft can be a challenge, but my wife and I loved sleeping up high. There's lots of light and electrical sockets in the loft. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to do some real gourmet cooking. There is a charcoal grill on the patio which has a beautiful view of Moro Bay. You are within easy reach of Montana de Oro state park, Moro Bay state park and the Museum of Natural History. A special treat is the Sweet Springs bird sanctuary set up by the local Audubon Society. It's only about three blocks from the casita and when we were there, we saw baby great horned owls every night when we walked down after dinner!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This was just like the pictures only better! No detail is missing- I cooked dinner and breakfast there and I had everything I needed, Sitting out on the patio with that amazing view every morning listening to the birds was so relaxing and beautiful, I looked forward to each morning. I am excited to plan our next trip for the summer months, I hope you keep renting your little gem out for us to enjoy! Oh, and our 10 year old LOVED the wookie book we purchased from the store- he was more interested in that than us coming home. Thank you so much! We were only planning on 3 nights away but because of the 4 night minimum I got a longer stay- and the low cost was what allowed us to do it! Thank you!!!!!!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

What an amazing deal! The little casita is small, but perfectly designed to maximize the efficient use of space. We had a lovely 4 day stay and slept soundly in the comfy bed, bathed in the sun on the deck, and overall had a great time. The owners were very responsive and we were even greeted with a bottle of wine to get our vacation started. Highly recommended. The description is accurate - if you are looking for a 4 star hotel, this is not it. If you are looking for a simple, clean, cozy cabin at a great rate, you have found it!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We have seen blow up beds and sketchy hotels from Atlantic to Pacific and everywhere in between. What a delight it was to land in such a sweet and tranquil spot after contending with a noisy and uncomfortable highrise in the last city we visited. The cloud in the loft melted away all of the city grit after a good night of sleep, and the view stirred the heart and inspired the journey which is yet to come. Thank you for an unforgettable visit. We look forward to happy returns.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We've been here for a week - and thanks to that downy nest of a bed, we slept late every morning! Thanks for this affordable, comfortable, quiet and very delightful Casita. We will be back.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Location, cleanliness, owner helpfulness, and provisioning were superb. Photos were accurate, and the deck was a wonderful extension of private space. Interior space was cheerful and comfortable, but we found the loft bedroom impractical for actual use, despite a very comfortable king-sized bed. A steep, drop down ladder provided access to the loft, and the bed so filled the horizontal and vertical loft space that it was impossible for the person on the far side of the bed to exit the bed without climbing over the partner. There was not enough room to sit up comfortably in the bed, since the roof sloped, so this further limited movement and maneuvering. It was both disruptive and a little scary to have to get up at night for a bathroom visit. Our solution was to forego the comfort of the loft and use the couch as bed (it converts). By itself, it was not comfortable, and probably just barely a double bed. However, we augmented with a blow-up mattress, and converted the downstairs space on a daily basis. This worked. We would recommend the casita to friends, as log as they understood the issue of the loft, and were prepared to work with it or around it. We especially enjoyed hikes in the area, as well as Olive Oil tasting at Pasolivo (Paso Robles). Proximity to Big Sur is a plus, and, if you are in the right season, it is wonderful to see the monarch butterfly clusters in Pismo Beach and the elephant seals. Our favorite little cafe was Celia's on Los Osos Valley Road (for breakfast). We enjoyed Big Sky Cafe downtown on Broad St., tri-tips and more oil tasting in Cambria.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thanks P, We appreciate your feedback on the bed. We have removed the box-springs, adding approx 9" to the headroom in the loft. We slept out there ourselves this weekend and found it very comfortable. As a note for potential travelers, our convertible sofa bed is a full size, and we will gladly provide extra cushioning if you choose to sleep on it rather than in the loft.

Why camp when for a few dollars more you can rent this little casita with a truly wonderful king sized bed, luxurious linens and privacy? The photos are very accurate, this place is a tiny little home with kitchenette, a bathroom with plenty of hot water and a lovely patio with views of the back bay. At this price point I guess I was a bit worried about what we were getting ourselves into, but once we arrived, all worries were put aside. This is an affordable lodging option in a wonderful part of the Central Coast. Thanks to Martie and her husband for offering this casita to the budget traveler. Be sure to check out Frankie and Lola's in Morro Bay for breakfast!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2003
Why the Owner Chose Los Osos:
We've lived in Los Osos since 1976 and wouldn't dream of living anywhere else! We love everything about the area, and our vacation rental is located literally in our back yard. Favorite activities include walking to the bay, surfing in Morro Bay, and hiking and mountain biking in Montana De Oro State Park.
The Unique Benefits at this Studio:
The large deck is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the views, the neighborhood is very quiet and traffic is unheard of. The bed is amazingly comfortable and the compact nature of the casita makes it easy to keep clean, but is not uncomfortably small. Our home and the casita were both built in 2003, and the casita has been recently renovated so everything is quite new!
