Jay condo description
Our condo is one of the Slopeside condos at Jay which is right on the Queen's Highway trail, the closet group of condos to the Tram Haus Main Lodge. It is just a few feet from the trail for simple ski in/ski out access directly down to the lodge and the main lifts on the mountain, the Tram, the Metro and the Flyer. Its also a short couple of minutes walk from the Ice Haus indoor ice rink, the new Pump House waterpark and the Tower Bar, Foundry or Drink bars/restaurants if apres ski goes a little longer than planned!
The condo has 2 bedrooms. One with a queen size bed and one with a double bed and a bunk bed, so it sleeps 6 in beds, and 7 if you include the couch which we have affectionately named 'The Green Monster' due to its capacity to comfortably seat a large number of people. The condo is on the second story so the front of the condo faces down to the lodge and has views from the bedrooms down the valley to the mountains in the distance. The rear has a deck that faces the Queen's Highway trail so you can watch all the skiers go by from the living room/kitchen area.
We have been upgrading the condo from when we purchased a few years ago (brand new bathroom this past summer). We are doing the upgrades ourselves and putting time and care into it as we hope to use the place as much as we rent it!

Our second time at Jay. Loved the condo. For non-beginner skiers, this is the best location. You ski to the main lifts quickly. We had a non-skiier with us, and stopping in to join her for lunch or a quick break was no hassle. Last time we stayed in a newer condo, which was a little bigger overall, but we liked this one better as superior location and cozier, more personal feel. Also, easy walk to water park and nice if you have 3 kids; with bed arrangement, no one is sleeping in living room, unless they want to.

The location is 5 stars! We loved how easy the location made our vacation. The condo's slider looks out over Queen's Trail. To get to the trail you walk down the stairs (condo is 2nd floor unit) to get outside, then walk to back side of condo and there is the trail. The lifts are a few minutes away. Several restaurants, the water park, the grocery/liquor market is all a 5 minute walk or ski down the hill from the condo. One of the best features inside the condo was the mudroom entry. We loved having a big bench, shelf, and copious amounts of hooks for ski clothing, helmets, etc. There is also a ski locker for each condo unit so you don't have to drag skis and poles inside. The kitchen is well equipped. We cooked in for breakfasts and lunches. The bathroom is updated and pretty, includes a small washer and dryer in the closet. Nice to have the dryer for wet ski clothes! The bedrooms sleep 5 comfortably. We had 5 people (2 adults and 3 young male adults 18, 19 and 21) and we felt a little tight in the family room hanging out. It's probably perfect for 4 adults. Our son loves Jay Peak and is a season pass holder, so I'm sure we'll be back and we'd definitely rent this condo again!

So good, we're coming back next year!
So good, we're coming back next year!
Condition, location, amenities and a great owner -- this condo has it all for our family. The property is in very good condition. Nice and clean, attractively decorated and furnished, perfect size for us (2 parents with boys 12 and 14). We feel it was as represented in the listing. Everything was in working order. Location is choice. Less than 50 yards' walk to Queens Highway trail, and also within walking distance to the base. So it was easy to ski home for lunch or meet non-skiers at the base for snacks or lunch. No parking issues, and shuttle stop is right down the stairs from the property. The condo had everything we needed to feel at home. We like to prepare many of our own meals when we travel and the kitchen had everything we needed. iPod dock for our tunes (yeah!), DVD player, flatscreen, cable, comfy couch and beds, toasty gas fireplace and best of all, WASHER/DRYER! Owner was easy to deal with, pleasant, friendly and responded to any queries rapidly. Good rental agent, too. Jay is our mountain of choice, and staying slopeside lets us make the most of our time there. We're happy to have discovered this property, and enjoyed our first stay so much, we've already committed to a return trip next winter!

The description of the condo is exactly as described...beds were very comfortable...condo well maintained/clean & suited our needs. Ski out--short few steps onto Queens Highway...ski in-- if snow on walkway, you can ski right to the front door!! Walking distance to indoor water park, ice rink & tram base. Shuttle service that picks up/drops off to/from base for those that do not want to walk/drive. Owners were very helpful & responsive to any questions we had. Conditions were awesome. I would definitely recommend this condo to friends/family. Thanks again!

Can´t Beat Location (But don't tell anyone!)
Can´t Beat Location (But don't tell anyone!)
This is an excellent truly ski-in ski-out condo. Parking is very easy to get to, there is always space available (we were up there during a big storm last year and things were perfectly fine), you have to walk a few stairs to the condo but nothing significant. Condo is in great shape, kitchen and family area face the outside trail, so you get a fantastic view of people skiing down the mountain. It takes you no more than 20 steps to get to the trail and ski downhill to the lifts. That is nice when dealing with the best snow in the East. With a family of 5, this location cannot be beat because it allows everyone to move at their own pace, take a break in the condo if needed, lunch at different times, etc. Very flexible for each one, making a perfect outcome vacation where everyone gets their own way. All the outstanding recent additions to Jay Peak at are walking distance - less than 5 minutes. A big plus, because there is a ton to do now at the base. Owners are very professional, everything was done remotely without a hassle. They had a lady managing their property locally, and even when I forgot a sweatshirt there, she found it and was kind enough to send it back home.

Year Purchased: 2010
About the owner: We are Damien, Janet and Dave. Damien and Janet are an Australian/Canadian couple who currently moved from Boston to Charlotte, VT and are avid snowboarders. Dave (Janet's brother) also recently moved from Ontario to Burlington, VT and plans on reviving his love for skiing from when he was a younger lad.
Why the Owner Chose Jay:
Shortly after Damien and Janet met in Boston, Janet temporarily moved back to Ontario and Jay was the half way meeting point for a year. During that year, a lot of time was spent snowboarding at Jay and exploring the surrounding area. During that time many memories were created in the Jay area. The decision to purchase the condo along with Dave, was made easy by the fact that it is centrally located between Boston and Ottawa. Damien and Janet have a 2 1/2 year old daughter, a 10 month old son and plan to 'Raise 'em Jay'!
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
The fact that the condo is mere feet from the Queen's Highway trail makes it easy to make first tracks without having to organize your entire group into the car and to the mountain. We understand this with 2 small children! It is also super convenient to ski into the condo for lunch and save your cash for apres ski down at the Tower Bar! Spring, summer and fall are also great times to be up at Jay for golfing, hiking, mountain biking, and leaf peeping. The condo is centrally located for activities other than skiing as well. The new Waterpark is a couple minutes away, The Ice Haus (new ice rink) is a 3 minute walk. The Tram Haus (main lodge, spa, gym, Tower Bar, Alice's Table) is a 5 minute walk. The new Clubhouse (golfing/cross country skiing) is less than ten minutes walk away. The cosy town of Jay is about 8 mins drive down the road to rent a snowmobile, for a great meal or to shoot some pool at the Jay Village Inn, or to listen to live music at Dakotas Bar at the Cedarwoods Resort across the road. In the other direction from the condo the town of Montgomery has some great mountain bike trails in the warmer months of the year and is also the 'Covered Bridge Capital of Vermont'! Art gallery, coffee and antique shops and the sleepy Vermont village feel makes it a great place to visit and unwind.
