This charming home was purchased May 2010, and has undergone a make-over. Bright & Clean Beach Cottage decor, makes this your home away from home. Walk our small community & the neighbors will greet you with a smile. Home is located on a fresh water canal, that connects to the crystal clear Weeki Wachee River. Take a kayak/canoe ride down the canal and experience old Florida. See manatees, egrets, ibis, blue herons, hawks, etc. You have direct access to the Gulf of Mexico by shallow draft boat or put in at one of four public boat ramps only 5 minutes away. Enjoy fishing from your back yard for bass or watch the mullet jump. Book a charter for redfish, cobia, mackerel, grouper, sea bass, etc. Two public beaches, Pine Island & Rogers Park are only 5 minutes away. Or take a short drive to Honeymoon Island & Caladesi for some shelling. At the end of the day catch a beautiful Sunset at the Bayport Fishing Pier.
Some local attractions include Weeki Wachee Springs Mermaid Park, Homosassa Wildlife Park, Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks, Florida Aquarium, Florida Zoo, Busch Gardens, Sea World, & Disney in Orlando. Guys grab a golf club & play one of our many courses, ladies check out the stores, or just sit back, relax, & enjoy a margarita on your lanai or key lime pie at one of our local restaurants. If you are looking for a tropical paradise our home & area have much to offer you.

We stayed here 2 months Jan & Feb. 2013. Very comfortable and clean no bugs everything worked was equipped with everything needed. We had a great time, home is close to many attractions but is in a very quiet area close to shopping and restaurants. Managers Jim and Bonnie were very helpful and became good friends. There are kayaks to use and we went down the Weeki Wachee river which is an easy paddle from the home. Home is large enough to accommodate 4 adults with ease. Would have stayed next year if was available. Any minor problems we had were addressed by Jim or Bonnie and quickly taken care of. Close to Weeki Wachee mermaids, Tarpon sponge docks, Busch Gardens Homossassa Springs animal park all of which I would recommend to visit. Close to casino in Tampa which I don't recommend unless you are lucky which we are not.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

Very old modular in need of substantial repair/renovation. Falsely listed as "house"/"cottage" and states property "has undergone a make-over". Not correct! We killed 3 SPIDERS (one the size of a quarter on underside of bedspread) and saw a 4th scurry into/under carpet in bedroom. Had bites on my arms on 2 different occasions. Bedroom ceiling is coming down; furnace/air conditioner screeches; neither bathroom fan works (could cause a fire if switch left on); 3 holes, one large, down to floorboards in very old long green shag carpet that was in majority of modular. When we brought these problems to managers' attention, they stated they were aware of them. Bathroom window does not open, there are water spots on ceilings of bathrooms and one bedroom. Told us not to use front door. Canal is yucky at times and saw snake in canal. Several dilapidated houses in neighborhood. Neighbor has not cleaned up wood nor has owner put fence up. Managers were helpful and friendly until we told them we were leaving early because I was unable to sleep knowing there was live spider in carpet in bedroom. She would not speak to us nor answer door when we knocked as instructed. We attempted to resolve with manager but had door shut in our face. Owner and manager refuse to reimburse us for 10 days left on rental. We have photos of the condition of the modular. Other than the spiders or condition of the property, it was clean. Pine Island beach nearby is beautiful!Owner response: We regret that our recent guests did not enjoy visiting us in the little part of -Old Florida- that still remains. Our area has many older homes, our rental being one of them. This rental is not perfect, and we don't represent it as such. However, it is very clean, very comfortable, bug-less, offers many amenities, and has undergone major upgrades. We stand behind our ad as it is written. We stand behind our rental property and invite anyone to come and check it out. Come and see the snakes, manatee, otters, mullet, bass, bird life, etc. - Enjoy them! But please be cautioned that the spiders will be very hard to fine. It has been over 50 days since our guest's departure, and although multiple people have been looking for these spiders, they are not to be found - dead or alive. We would like to let our future guests know, we have never had a bug problem of any kind and would not tolerate such a condition. Note: This is Florida, and much like the state you live in: No one can guarantee that you won't see a bug. We take get pride in this vacation rental that we offer for your holiday away from home.

This area of Florida is absolutely wonderful! This home is located in just the right place. Plenty of privacy yet In less than 10 minutes you can be anyplace you want....the beach, restaurants, shopping, sightseeing. The house is beautifully decorated and fully supplied with all your needs. Just pick up some groceries and you're set. Love fishing? it's right outside your back door! And having the use of the Kayaks was an added bonus. We have found a hobby that we both enjoyed! and seeing Manatees in your own backyard...you can't get any better than that. We loved our stay and the area! Best vacation (winter escape) we've ever had!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

Our stay at this home this past March was delightful. The home is very comfortable and well-equipped. It didn't hurt that the weather was almost perfect either. That made it possible to enjoy the outside patio most evenings. We also loved the sunroom facing the canal as we could see the lovely birds from there. The two bedrooms & bath were very nice & the master suite had connection for our computer, which we enjoyed. The dining room comfortably sat six people when we invited dinner guests. Also Jim & Bonnie (property managers) were great neighbors & most helpful. The only negative comments we could make are that the vacant property on one side needs to be cleaned up & the main carpeting needs to be replaced, but other than that, we would highly recommend this house. In addition, the neighborhood is extremely quiet, which we loved!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us. We are looking into installing a fence between our rental & the vacant property next door. Also future plans are to replace the carpet. Thank You for staying with us. We enjoyed meeting you both. (And your pancakes are "The Best".....)
