My family and I recently stayed here while visiting my son. I was not too sure about the area and location but was pleasantly surprised when I got there. It is located on a lovely tree lined street. The area is very safe and the people very friendly. There is a playground at a school located right around the corner which my granddaughter loved. Several supermarkets and drug stores are located very close. Martins, and across the street Krogers and in back of Martins is Fresh Market. Walgreens and CVS are right next to each other and in back of Martins. A hospital is just a few blocks away in case of an emergency. It is close to Carytown for shopping and eating, the James river rocks at Pony Pasture for the adventurous, Maymont Park and Lewis Ginter gardens. The house was impeccable - super clean and extremely well maintained. All appliances were new. The heat and air conditioner were brand new too and worked perfectly. Upstairs are 4 large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms one of which is located in the master bedroom which also has a tv.. There’s also a cute cozy office with wifi. Downstairs is a beautiful formal living room, a formal dining room, a family room with a tv where we spent most of our time, and a spotless kitchen. The kitchen has a 2 chair breakfast bar, gas stove with a double oven, granite countertops, icemaker refrigerator and comes stocked with all utensils, cups, glasses, pots and pans. There’s also a bathroom downstairs. The only disappointment we all had was that we missed seeing snow by just 1 day. It has all melted in those 24 hours. There is a large side yard where my granddaughter had way more then enough room to run and play. We had an extra added attraction - 2 chipmunks that came up on the deck to eat the seeds/nuts we put out for the birds. There was a list that had all the information we needed. Instructions for everything written simply and clearly, including contact phone numbers. The descriptions and pictures of the house are exactly as presented here. We are definitely renting this house again next year. It is everything it's represented to be and then some.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you so much for the kind words and taking the effort to compose your thoughts. Hope we can help you again in the future, regards Josh

We rented this lovely home for parents weekend and also for graduation. It was just like being at home. The home is very well equipped for anything you might need. We went out to dinner but most certainly could have made a gourmet dinner at home. Our 10 and 9 year old enjoyed the playground at St. Christopher's school down the block. It is very easy to get to downtown and shops and restaurants on Cary St. The owners are very accommodating and friendly. We are sad that our daughter is finished at U of Richmond (except for the tuition payments) but would certainly rent this beautiful home again if we come back to the area.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

I am a frequent user of VRBO, so I can write a review based on multiple rental experiences. This home is lovely. Felt at home as soon as we walked in the door. Kitchen is top-notch, and the family room is very cozy. Beds were comfy, too. Owner is a pleasure to work with. Thank you for being so accommodating. Our volleyball team won the 50s gold at the RVC Masters tourney. :-)Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We recently had the pleasure of spending a week at this beautiful property. The home was exactly as pictured and described: clean, tastefully decorated and with all of the conveniences you would hope for in a home away from home. The kitchen and laundry room appliances were modern and very user-friendly, and the cabinets were well stocked with dishes, utensils, cooking tools and linens. The bedrooms were all generous in size and the beds comfortable. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood, with several shopping and dining options within a short drive. Given that we were visiting Richmond with our three young children, we were also pleasantly surprised to find out that there was a private school playground right around the corner. The playground wasn’t available during school/camp hours for obvious reasons, but our kids greatly enjoyed it in the evenings and on the weekend. We also made great use of the large, fenced-in yard to kick a soccer ball around and play tag. The owner was more than willing to answer any questions we had, and was prompt in his communications with us. We would not hesitate to rent this property again, and look forward to our next stay!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Staying here to enjoy local family, historical attractions and relax. The home is beautiful, well supplied with everything you could need and just gorgeously renovated. Large and spacious for a family of five and close to many local attractions and an easy drive to Williamsburg and Monticello. We hope to come back. Modern laundry and updated lovely kitchen a plus. Clean and dust free (we have allergies). Will definitely want to return next year if possible!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Recently stayed for several nights to attend University of Richmond commencement-realted activities. This charming home is on a quiet and safe tree-lined neighborhood street. The home was spotless on arrival and is well-maintained by owner. It was ideal for my family of five and provided plenty of privacy and room for all to spread out, relax, and unwind. The home is very well stocked with high quality small appliances, kitchen ware, towels, etc. Laundry room a pleasant surprise- and was used during our stay. Want to enjoy a glass of wine? There were lovely crystal glasses in the dining room. The home has obviously been remodeled and updated with pleasing paint colors, granite countertops, a Rinnai water-heating system (very much appreciated!), upgraded sinks and commodes, and quality wood and tile flooring. There was a detailed check out list posted on the refrigerator which was helpful. We also knew whom to call if there was a pest problem or a problem with the air conditioning; no problems, however. Between many visits to the University's campus, we went to nearby City Limits for drinks and dinner, Baker's Crust for brunch ( a 10 minute drive), Mozaics for drinks and dinner (a 10 minute drive), and beer and pizza at Bottoms Up Pizza downtown ( a 20 minute drive). We truly enjoyed our stay in this gem of a home. We will arrange to stay there again when we plan our next extended trip to Richmond.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
