Welcome to East End Eden I, our one bedroom, two bath, luxury beachfront condominium just steps from the beach at the Elysian Beach Resort on secluded Cowpet Bay on the East End of St. Thomas. SEE OUR PROPERTY WEBSITE LINK BELOW THE RATE DETAILS. The only true one bedroom condo at the Elysian available for rent, it has a fully equipped kitchen and two bathrooms. Whether you are looking for a romantic getaway or a family vacation with 1-2 young children, the condo has everything you need for that special vacation. The condo comfortably accommodates 2-4 guests.
Located only 100 yards from the white sand beach, the condo’s two private balconies offer spectacular views of the turquoise waters of the Caribbean. The condo has one bedroom with a king-size bed, a bathroom with a tub/shower, a private balcony, flat screen LCD TV and DVD player. The living room has a queen-size Murphy bed with a comfortable mattress, a private balcony, TV, DVD player and a stereo with iPod dock. There is a second full bathroom off the kitchen. Each bath has a hair dryer.
The kitchen is fully-equipped with all appliances, coffee-maker, blender, glasses, dishes and utensils, everything you need to dine in after a relaxing day at the beach. The condo is equipped with WiFi at no charge to our guests, although we encourage you to leave your work at home! There is a full-size washer and dryer in the condo.
Both balconies have a table, chairs and a lounge chair so you can sit out with a cup of coffee and watch the sunrise or a glass of wine and watch the sunset over Cowpet Bay. All bed linens and towels are provided, along with a starter supply of paper goods.
As our guests, you have access to all of the amenities at the Elysian including the pool with its grotto, waterfall and hot tub, spa (fee), gym (fee), tennis court, water sport rental shack, and beach volleyball court. There is wonderful snorkeling on the reef immediately offshore. We have several sets of snorkeling gear in assorted sizes available in the condo for our guests. Lounge chairs are provided at no charge on the palm-lined beach, which also has ample shade for those who need it. Beach towels are also provided at no charge from the Elysian.
The condo is located just 11 miles from the airport and only two miles from Red Hook with its many shops and restaurants. The ferries to St. John and the British Virgin Islands leave regularly from the docks in Red Hook. There are also numerous other recreational opportunities on the East End including deep-sea sport fishing, para sailing, jet skiing, and eco-kayaking. Charlotte Amalie, near the airport, is the main town on the island and is famous as the shopping mecca of the Caribbean.

Why the Owner Chose Cowpet BayFrom the moment we set foot on Cowpet Bay Beach we could feel the tensions leave us and we knew that this was the place we wanted to own a vacation home. St. Thomas is a US territory and easily accessible from the East Coast and most of the mainland US. The seclusion of Cowpet Bay and the gentle waves make it ideal for relaxing and recharging! But if you want a go-go vacation there are so many great beaches on St. Thomas and nearby St. John and the variety of restaurants on St. Thomas is amazing for an island that is only about 38 square miles. In short, we found our East End Eden so we decided to buy a condo or two!

We live outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We first visited St. Thomas in March 2007 and immediately fell in love with the Island. After two more trips, all of which were spent at the Elysian in a colleague's condo, we decided we needed our own place. We purchased a 2 bedroom unit in 2009 (VRBO # 231249) and we've had so much fun meeting new guests (if only by phone or email)and helping them have a great Caribbean vacation, that we decided to buy a one bedroom unit in 2010. Eventually we intend to spend large portions of our retirement years in our condos, but for now we enjoy frequent vacations there and helping create memorable vacations for our guests.

I took my wife to St Thomas as a surprise for her birthday. Since it was close to last minute, I checked all the hotels on the island, but nothing spoke to me. As an avid fan of Homeaway and VRBO, I decided to check. Bruce and Sue were very prompt and responsive to my inquiry. Once I decided, they were quick to send the rental agreement (standard) and even quicker in sending the keys to their lovely place. Prior to the trip, I rented a car which was well worth the cost. We used the gps on my phone to find the place (AT&T works very well on the island). The resort just in the far south east of the island on a tranquil peninsula. Upon arrival, we had a little difficulty finding the actual condo, but once we took the correct turn, we found it. The condo is immaculate. A nice view that is partially blocked by a coconut palm, but you can still see the marina/bay. The kitchen is fully furnished with dishes, utensils, appliances and basic condiments. We did shop at Food Center for our breakfast supplies. The bed is comfortable and big. We never turned on the A/C as there was a nice breeze that came in through the sliding doors. The fans also kept the place cool. We felt very safe on the grounds of the property. Both restaurants were fabulous. We recommend the conch fritters at Sangrias and the eggs benedict (with smoked salmon or avocado) at the Caribbean Fish Market. Z-wackers (bartender's twist on a bushwhacker) was the drink of choice. On a day when the winds come in from the east, stay at the resort and skin in cowpet bay. If it is calm, head over to smith bay park/lindquist beach or Magen's bay. Also, make sure to go to Francis or cinnamon bay on St Johns. The Old Stone Farmhouse, although pricey, is a must. The butcher's block special is amazing. All around a great time, most of which was advice from Sue and Bruce. Cheers to the two of them!

After numerous vacations to St. Thomas we know the island quite well. We tend to "condo hop" from year to year to experience different properties and locations. When looking for a place for March 2012 spring break with our two daughters (ages 12 and 15), we decided to return to the Elysian, where we honeymooned in 1992. This unit is the finest we have been to on St. Thomas! The Elysian is a very well-manicured and well-equipped resort without any pretentiousness. The unit has everything you need. The owners allow unused items left behind to be enjoyed by the next guests, like sunscreen, batteries, and lotions. This gives the place a homey feeling. This unit is a lovely tiled-floor one bedroom with a very comfortable King in the master and a very comfortable Queen Murphy bed (pillow-top). The bathrooms are large, updated and clean. There are two balconies and a terrific iPod sound system along with a great selection of DVD's for evenings or that rainy hour or two. The paint colors are "island" an they have beautiful framed prints and a nice decor. Bruce and Sue also leave a nice assortment of high-end snorkel gear, including flippers and a big carrying bag for the car and beach. That is a major convenience and money-saver. This unit is in the closest building to the pool, beach and the two on-site restaurants. One is casual breakfast-lunch-dinner and the other is a terrific new dinner restaurant specializing in fresh fish and steaks and unusual beautiful salads. Top notch and reasonable on the wallet. The pool area, with its signature waterfall, was recently updated with smooth stone pavers. Beside the pool is a beach bar (one of two) and the beach, a mid-sized crescent moon of white sand with plenty of chairs and lounges reserved only for Elysian guests. The beach is very secluded and quiet with very calm water. Located next to the Ritz-Carlton, the Elysian is in a great location on the East end. You are a couple of minutes from the town of Red Hook, where there are restaurants and ships and the ferries for a 20-minute ride to St. John (our favorite part of visiting "St. Thomas" are our day trips to St. John). It is also convenient to Coral World and Coki Beach, which is perfect for snorkeling right from the beach. Bruce and Sue were staying in their other unit during our time renting this unit and they are terrific hosts. They have a lovely property to share and we will return during our next visit! This was surely paradise. Everything you could ask for. The condo was fantastic. The grounds were beautiful and the pool and ocean perfect. Lots to do on St. thomas and surrounding islands or just stay ar resort. Will definitely come back.

We stayed at this condo for a week and it was very nice. The rooms are large and the kitchen is well stocked and equipped with everything necessary. Even the mattress was comfortable, which is rare in hotel rooms and vacation rentals. That alone made the place feel almost like home. The beach is only a few steps away and is a great place to relax in the afternoon. The location is excellent as well - only a few minutes drive to Red Hook, and just a short walk to Ritz. The owners were easy to work with, which made the booking process, arrival and departure a breeze. Hope to be back next year!

I stayed at the condo 10/15-19 on a work trip. It was exactly what I needed. The bed was so comfortable and the condo had everything I needed wifi, tv, ipod dock, great location, etc. It was a short 1-2 minute walk to the beach, pool or beachside grill. If I come back to St Thomas this will be a condo I stay at again.

The pictures cannot do it justice. It's location allows you to choose whether or not you want to be amongst the crowds or more to yourself. The private beach is wonderful and peaceful. We never had to take our own chairs. The resort recently started a free shuttle into Red Hook which worked out great. We saved the card of the taxi driver that drove us from the airport and used him most of the time. Bruce and Sue furnished everything we needed. In the past when we rented places with "fully stocked" kitchens, I ended up having to purchase temporary cooking supplies. Not here. Bowls, casserole dishes, pots and pans of all sizes, etc. are provided. We followed Bruce and Sue's restaurant recommendations and were not disappointed. Senor Pizza even delivered one night. We used the snorkeling equipment and went to Trunk Bay on St. John. We swam with a sting ray, watched a jellyfish for the first time in my life, and swam in the rain...priceless. We came during the off season so the restaurants and bars on the beach at the Elysian were closed. No big deal. We packed our drinks and snacks in the ice chests provided and enjoyed ourselves immensely. We're leaving to head back home today. Thank you Bruce and Sue for sharing your piece of paradise. We hope to return soon.

We stayed at this proprety from June 26th to July 6th, 2011 with our two children who are 12 and 16 and we all loved our family vacations. Bruce and Sue's condo is extremely clean and well equiped. It has every comfort of home. Beds are very comfortable including the Murphy bed. We used the snorkel equipment that was provided in the condo almost everyday. The beach is just steps away and there is a lovely pool area on the property. We also went to St-John, BVI and other beautiful beaches on St-Thomas. Bruce and Sue are pleasant and efficient and it was a very easy process to do this rental. We had a wonderful time!

We just returned from East End Eden and it was amazing! We loved it. We have been going to St Thomas for the last few years and always stayed in the Marriott. This was a welcome change. The location is perfect, close to Red Hook. The condo was immaculate. And although the restaurants were closed (going under new management) we had no concerns or issues. There are so many places to go in Red Hook and having a condo you can do some of the meals yourself. I believe they were reopening just after we were leaving. We were so comfortable in the condo it was like our own home. Was very very relaxing. We loved the tempurpedic mattress :). We did a couple of sails while we were there. Two with Simplicity Charters, we absolutely love those guys. A sloop that only takes six people at a time. And one on Pirates Penny over to Virgin Gorda which was also great. But, the best part of the trip was having a great place to come back to. We will definitely be going back next summer!! The owners of this condo really care about it and St Thomas. They are so accommodating. When doing the background we found they only live a short distance from us. A very small world! I would highly recommend this to anyone going to St Thomas!
