  I was very disappointed in my family's stay here, the owner was not very professional by being so apologetic for not getting our security deposit back within 14 days as was agreed in the contract, 35 days to be exact. The deck was unsafe as someone fell through a previous repair, followed by more apologies from owner. Friday night should have been peaceful, except owner was there mowing the grass!! I would not recommend this place. Thanks for reading.

  Owner response: While we try to make every guest's stay a wonderful experience, we are sad to say that this one had an unfortunate incident that tarnished their visit. We responded to the deck problem immediately, and bought lunch for them as a goodwill offering for their inconvenience.

  Our family of six had a great time at this lovely home and cannot wait to return this winter! Upon arrival we were delighted by the rustic-meets-modern accommodations. There was more than enough room for us and we hope to bring along our extended family since we now know how large this home is. The house is nestled at the end of a winding road and although it is on a large piece of land, it still seems cozy. The kids loved the proximity to the water and large yard to play in. We enjoyed hiking Pokagon State Park, which is minutes away, and spending hours on the deck enjoying the fantastic views. The owners were extremely helpful and accommodating from the point of securing a reservation to well after our visit. We cannot say enough about this lovely destination.

  This lake home was beautiful the view was wonderful looking at the lake. Beach was nice for children to play in sand and wade in water. Teenagers enjoyed swimming in lake to raft and diving off. Many nights were spent sitting on back porch talking and enjoying sunsets. House was beautiful but needs drapes in master bedroom as sun woke us up to early also in one upper bedroom. The fishing was alright could of caught more but weather was very hot.

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

  Steve & Kathy - Really enjoyed our week at your vacation home. Kids enjoyed the beach and playing ball in the yard! I loved all the shade and deck for relaxing. Thanks again and hope to see you next year!

  we had a wonderful time. Great time enjoying outdoors, kids loved the beach, we rented a boat and fished everyday. We also had fun with the dollar game. Kids said best vacation ever! They also loved the cubby hole beds upstairs. Just wish there were curtains on the windows. Thanks again,

We had an amazing time and our 13 year old son wishes we could go there every year for his birthday and stay longer! The space for kids, the beach, the birds, trees, the master bedroom-it was great!   A charming and cosey house nestled in the trees with spectular views of the lake from every room. Sitting on the deck with coffee in the morning and watching the beautiful sunset each evening was so relaxing. Our family enjoyed the fun activities on Lake James and the serenity and calmness of the location that, unlike typical crowed properties on the lake, this property offers an open, uncluttered and spacious feeling.j We can't wait to come back next year.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

  First of all ... Thanks for a Great Experience. We really appreciated the way the house was set up for us. With the "Welcome Gifts" on the table and in the fridge. Very nice! Also plenty of towels and other supplies. Again ... everyone had a wonderful time and really enjoyed your place. Thanks so much for sharing your house with us. I hope we left it in reasonable shape.
