Asian meets Craftsman in this two story hillside home perched high above the city lights. Full kitchen with every amenity including a professional stove, oven, and gas grill on the deck. We even have cook books!
Lounge in the library, relax in the great room as the morning fog drifts across the Rogue Valley, or share a great bottle of local wine while you sink into the leather sofas in front of the grand river rock fireplace. In the cool evening after a play you can soak in the hot tub on our enormous deck and watch for shooting stars. The milky way is very bright in our clear, cool air at 2500 ft. During the winter we even get the occasional snowfall!
Big family? No problem! With private rooms for 4 couples plus 2 futons in the media room there's plenty of room. The giant granite dining table seats twelve with ease and there's space to spare if you need to escape with a good book. For the Kindle Crowd we have cellular, and of course, wifi coverage.
Miles of hiking and biking trails are just next door at Oredson Todd Woods. During the summer months the Water Park at Emmigrant Lake is just the place to cool off.

I stumbled onto this property for a school auction - an obligatory expediture of money. Let me tell you, it was well worth it. The house is gorgeous. The kitchen is beautifully appointed, the grill is pristine. The living room is grand with huge picture windows over looking the valley and an epic fireplace. There was wifi and a great tv that actually worked. These people obviously use and care for this property. It is not to be missed.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a family reunion at this home, three families including our grandkids aged 6, 4 and 1 1/2. We have rented many VRBO properties and this was by far the best. This home is very spacious, very beautiful, very comfortable and in excellent condition. The kitchen is by far the best equipped of any we have experienced. The public spaces were perfect for quality family time and the bedrooms provided each family its own space. The setting provides beautiful views of the valley and the mountains beyond. The location is very close to Town which makes it very convenient. Also, the owners were warm, gracious hosts as if we were friends using their home while they were not there. We definitely plan to return.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

We stayed at this beautiful home with my husband's children and grandchildren before Christmas. We had absolutely everything we could have wished for. The house was so comfortable and cozy, especially with the wood fireplace crackling while a bit of snow fell. The kitchen was a cook's dream, and the huge custom table in the dining room easily accomodated all of us for dining and competitive card games! The bedrooms were very comfortable and the media room downstairs was a hit with the grandkids. The owner was friendly and helpful, with timely responses to all my questions. Favorites include the expansive view of the valley, the outside grill/deck and watching the abundance of wildlife. Absolutely wonderful property!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

In early May, I spent 6 glorious days with 5 wonderful college friends in Ashland at this terrific house with a stunning view. The description and the pictures are very detailed and very true! But the actual home and view cannot be adequately described in words. You DO need to visit! Library, hot tub, full, expansive deck, well-appointed kitchen, large rooms and many windows to capture light and mountain and woods views. Yet, we all felt at home and cozy sitting in the breakfast room or sipping wine, or coffee in the family room. In town, just a short drive away, there was abundant and fascinating theatre, shopping, dining, farmers market, and Lithia Park. Surrounding Ashland there is plenty to do too with wineries, hiking and so much more. One evening we had Chef Douglas Todd of Wine Country Catering come to the house to teach and to cook a delicious dinner for us, complete with local wine pairings. This Asian Inspired Escape with a View made our mini college reunion so very special and I most highly recommend it!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Recently, I traveled with 5 of my college girlfriends to Ashland, Oregon to celebrate our birthdays. We stayed 5 nights at this Asian Inspired home, and I wish we could have stayed longer. It was absolutely PERFECT for our needs and made our getaway so very special. We loved the location; within quick driving distance of the town of Ashland and all of its amenities, yet nestled in the hills where it was quiet and seemed remote. There are wonderful trails nearby at Oredson Todd Woods. The views from the living room and deck of the house were beautiful, and we enjoyed the birds and the deer that visited the property in the mornings and evenings. In fact, with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, the living room and deck became our favorite gathering spots during our stay. The kitchen provided all of the cooking utensils and serving ware that we needed in order to enjoy some of our meals there. The sleeping arrangements were very comfortable for six. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone interested in visiting Ashland, which has so much to offer as a vacation destination. Finally, when I discovered after the trip that I had left something behind, the owner was most gracious and helpful in seeing that the item was returned to me.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

5 STARS PLUS++++ We found this home to be just perfect for our 2 families and 3 teenagers with room to spare. The house is equipped with everything anyone might need. The owner is very personable, extremely helpful, and has thought of many small touches that made our stay so much more enjoyable. First of all the place is just so clean and spotless. No, really, everything was shiny clean. The rooms are large, truly oversized and the furniture so comfortable it was hard to leave the place. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything to cook up a storm. The property is meticulously maintained. The four adults stayed in the two large bedrooms upstairs. While the teenagers stayed downstairs with the media center. (While we all love our teenagers, it was so nice for them to have there own space.) The view from the GRAND living-room, master bedroom, library, and HUGE deck (with large hot-tub/Jacuzzi) is truly bucolic (Google it). The home is minutes from downtown and the plays. We had no problems seeing six plays in the five days we stayed at the Tolman House. We did venture out to hike the "White Rabbit Trail." The trailhead is walking distance from the front door. Nice easy hike. The owner has left maps and lots of information about the surrounding area in the kitchen and living room. We had deer come visit us in the front yard and a family of wild turkeys strolled by one afternoon. The webpage pictures and descriptions are all very accurate (ONLY BETTER IN PERSON - TRUST ME). Morning Glory restaurant is just down Siskiyou. Don't miss this place! The best food anywhere. We tried Smithfields, a new place in town. Just wonderful when you want fine cuts of meat. Munchies is always good for a great "homemade" pie. The house is tucked up on a small hillside away from noisy traffic, so PEACEFUL. It was truly a privilege and blessing to stay at the Tolman House. We are already planning our return!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

Our family visits Ashland every summer, and this summer we decided to try this home. It was a perfect getaway. While a short drive from downtown, I enjoyed being able to access the trail system less than a half mile from the house. Within 10 minutes, I was on a trail that connects to the Pacific Crest Trail. Great getaway and great views. We didn't take advantage of the hot tub - but we sure took advantage of the great views and the peace and quiet. This was a great home - and we are already planning a trip next summer with friends. We will definitely try to book this property for all our future visits to Ashland. Very clean, well maintained, owner very helpful. Stay here if you have a chance!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This was a great place to stay. 5 couples on motorcycles used this home as our staging area while we explored the beauty in and around Ashland. We found the house to be exactly as it was shown in the VRBO listing. Clean, roomy, functional and with nice views. It was a treat to look out the bedroom window and within touching distance see the huge buck who liked to lay beside the house and to watch his family as they rested in the grass right outside the deck. Had some excitement as a storm came in and the whole town of Ashland lost power for a few hours.Perfect house for a crowd.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Beautiful...everything we expected. One issue was the media room was also called a "bedroom"...however it is where the TV was, in the middle of the two lower bedrooms with only one bath...suggest limiting this to four sleeping rooms if all adults...Dining room was outstanding for all of us to sit and dine together after a full day of riding the mountains on our motorcycles..hot tub was a blessing, kitchen made cooking fun even on a vacation, and the view...truly God's country. Plus the beautiful 4-point buck that was making his home outside of our our bedrooms. Just a perfect place at the end of the day.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

VERY CLEAN! Newly remodeled with all the amenities a group would want. Country retreat setting, quiet with a great view, but close to town for Shakespeare Festival, restaurants, etc. We had 3 mature couples, the house allows privacy for each, could also accomodate couples with children. Plenty of room for "gathering," but quiet rooms as well for reading- like the comfy library. Great deck with hot tub- even if it was snowing/sleeting while we were there. Close to major hiking trails. We're looking forward to our stay again in October!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
