The Ko'a (coral)Cottage is a cozy, two bedroom cottage located in the quiet oceanside community of Kapoho. It is across street from the ocean, with partial oceanview. Situated on a large landscaped lot for privacy and enjoyment. The large lanai is perfect for unwinding and listening to the crashing surf and enjoying the ocean breeze through the many palm trees.
A two minute stroll takes you to the Waiopae tide pools and what is arguably the best snorkeling on the Island is a five minute walk down the street in a State marine preserve. The preserve is a clear and calm natural aquirium with over 100 species of fish, 11 specias of coral and the endangered green sea turtle. A rock reef breaks the waves so swimming and snorkeling is always calm.
The home is a great base for discovering the east side of the Big Island. Minutes from Pahoa, a unique town with good restaurants and a popular Sunday market. It is two miles from the famous geo-thermal hot ponds. At Pohoiki, three miles, you can take a trip by boat to see the lava pouring into the sea. Or take a drive down the scenic tropical coasline. Kapoho area is not a resort area with glitz and glamour, but a wonderful slice of old Hawaii!
