This townhouse is perfectly situated on a quiet residential street yet just around the corner from Brooklyn's hippest new neighborhood: Williamsburg. The area is packed with cute restaurants and bars, from Peruvian steak houses to French bistros and even a German beer & barbecue. The neighborhood is also a magnet for young people moving to the city and an influential hub for indie rock, hipster culture, and the local art community. We are amazingly close to downtown Manhattan, Times Square, Soho and Tribeca via the popular L TRAIN subway line that's just a 1-minute walk from the townhouse.
This garden apartment is on the first floor of the building with a private entrance, so there are no stairs to climb. The spacious living room has two windows and plenty of light and air. The kitchen and bedroom windows both lookout into the private garden in the backyard.
The Garden Apartment can accommodate up to four guests: The bedroom has a double/full bed which sleeps 2. There is also a self-inflating AeroBed that sleeps two. Its built-in pump inflates in just 1 minute and deflates just as quickly. While this isn't a traditional mattress is is quite comfortable.
The entire apartment has brand new furnishings, linens and kitchen equipment and is a perfect home base for your trip to New York City.
NOTE: We do have two other apartments in this same townhouse if this one is booked. Check out Listing #321592 our Parlor Apartment, or Listing #344739 our Williamsburg Apartment.

We loved this little apartment in the happening neighborhood of Williamsburg. Its very nicely decorated and spotlessly clean with fresh linens and little extras like cooking spices and shampoo etc. The living area is spacious with an appealing exposed brick wall. The kitchen is well appointed and the bedroom is quiet and has a very comfy bed. The location couldn't be better - the subway into Manhattan is literally around the corner and the trains come very regularly to zip you into the city. Williamsburg is a terrific mix of a neighborhood of old timers and hipsters. At the end of the day we enjoyed sitting in the sweet front patio area and watching the passing parade. The glorious back garden is a credit to the owners. The owners have kindly included a folder with information including recommended restaurants, bars and delis in the area - of which there are plenty of great options to choose from. It's only a short stroll to find whatever you're craving - from great Margaritas to delicious BBQ. The owners have a very easy "check in" process and clear instructions via email. We would absolutely recommend this to friends and family and look forward to returning next time we visit NYC.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway.

This was a great place to be with our kids who live in a small apt in Williamsburg. It was clean and very convenient to everything. The kitchen could use more dishes and flatware but just a minor problem if you like to cook and eat in. We liked the garden apt and the front patio.. The rear garden was also lovely. We liked the Peruvian restaurant on Union and the Italian bakery on Lorimer at the top of the street. We'll be back if the stars align.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+.

My wife and I stayed for the weekend. The apartment is in a great location -- 1 block from subway, lots of restaurants and cafes, and short walk to Graham St. in Williamsburg with terrific restaurants. We were there for a blazing hot weekend, and the apartment had sufficient AC to really cool it off nicely. Small bedroom with double bed, full kitchen, and very large living/dining room with TV, couch, tables, etc. Ground floor location on a quiet street. A perfect place for 1 or 2 people. Will stay there again when I am back in Brooklyn.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway.

I have to say that my stay in the Williamsburg apartment exceeded my expectations. The directions and access information which I received by email before arrival were excellent and I had no trouble obtaining the keys. The top floor apartment where I stayed consisted of large lounge/living space, a kitchen and bathroom at the back, a large bedroom at the front of the house with an adjoining smaller bedroom. The photos on the website are good, but it looks even better in reality. First impressions were great: spotlessly clean, quiet and secure, well organised kitchen, plenty space, hardwood floors. Every piece of equipment and utensils for modern living were available. Cooking utensils, cutlery, good selection of dishes, glasses, pots and pans. Cooker, immaculate fridge, kettle, dining bar, storage space, ironing board and iron - basically a home from home. Soap, shampoo, washing liquid, toilet tissue and other products thoughtfully provided. Electrical equipment, TV/Cable/DVD/WiFi/Vacuum cleaner, all worked perfectly during my month's stay. Particularly useful was the blow up double bed which I used for guests at one point - very comfortable. (There was plenty extra bedding too) Sean and Brad lived nearby and were easily accessible through email/phone if there was anything needed. They had left a great selection of information on local amenities which was very useful on arrival. The street itself is quiet, tree-lined, 'old-style' Brooklyn. It was my first stay in the Borough and I took to Williamsburg right away. The Subway is right round the corner barely a minute's walk (ten minutes into Union Square Manhattan), and there is every kind of shop you would need within a stone's throw. The streets between the apartment and the East River contain innumerable bars restaurants and shops of all ethnicities. You will never be bored. I went many long walks exploring the area, day and night, and never had any problems. I would recommend the apartment and loved that part of Brooklyn. Will definitely return soon. PS....Bamonte's restaurant, a few streets away, was a favourite of mine. It was used in 'The Soprano's' ;-)Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway.

Our arrival was delayed until after 10 at night but the directions were so easy we had no problem finding the apt. When we arrived Sean was there to welcome us and introduce us to their beautiful apt. The location was perfect with subway a block away. Although we took the subway to manhattan we found we loved this area of Brooklyn even more. The apt. Was clean, spacious and beautifully appointed. We would definitely choose to stay here again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway.

I would stay at this apartment again! It has an excellent location and is close to Manhattan. The Garden Apartment was clean and was rented at a good price. If you drive there they have free parking. I parked my car and travelled by subway. I was able to visit all the tourist attractions and also enjoy some local charm.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, people with disabilities.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2010
About the owner: My partner and I both work in Manhattan and take the L Train in every day. I'm a television producer, my partner is an actor, and our daughter attends school in the city. I'm from Toledo, Ohio and my partner is from Melbourne, Australia so we have LOTS of family and friends visiting us all year round who now stay in our garden apartment and use it as their home-away-from-home. We love helping them find their way around the city and will gladly offer you a few suggestions about NYC as well.
Why the Owner Chose Brooklyn:
We bought this townhouse in 2010 after living in the middle of Manhattan for 16 years and have fallen in love with our new neighborhood. Our previous neighborhood was very old-school residential with massive apartment buildings, while Williamsburg is filled with 3-story townhouses like ours where the neighbors all sit on the front steps and enjoy the street life. The huge influx of artists and young people who recently "found" the neighborhood because of it's close proximity to Manhattan and relatively inexpensive housing make for a VERY interesting mix on the street and we love it.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
EXTRA Queen size inflatable AERO bed/bedding. What's great about staying in Williamsburg is the EASY access to all the major sites around NYC: Times Square, Broadway, Macy's, the Empire State Building, all the museums, Central Park and the Statue of Liberty. But what's really enjoyable and a real delight are the VERY walkable streets around us packed with both the old-world shops (the perfect cappuccino at Setti Pani bakery) side-by-side with the new art galleries, trendy clothing stores and fun finds (graphic comics books from around the world at Sparacino's).
