Welcome to our cabin! We have enjoyed many happy hours here and hope you will too.
It is secluded and located on the side of a mountain ridge with great views of the Capitan Mountain. Local folklore claim that Capitan Mountain is where Smokey the Bear was adopted by the US Forestry Service to be their mascot when a Forest ranger happened upon a bear stomping out a camp fire many years ago.
The home is professionally decorated with stainless appliances, granite countertops, 3 flatscreen TV's with dvd players and an extensive movie collection for your use. There is an I-pod docking station/cd player with speakers throughout.
The deer and elk regularly cross our property and the turkeys act as your alarm clock each morning.
Located just 3.3 miles North of the turn off to Apache Ski Mountain this cozy cabin is remote and secluded but close to everything. Shopping in Ruidoso is excellent and minutes away as is the Inn of The Mountain Gods resort and casino and Ruidoso Downs Race Track. Spencer Theater is 1.5 miles.
The elevation on the upper deck is 7,800 feet and the only sounds are the wind thru the pines. On a clear night you can see millions of stars that light up the cabin.
Level one is the bar and den with a two bedroom two bath suite, i.e. each bedroom has it’s own private shower/bath. The den sofa makes into a queen bed if needed. Bedroom #1 has a single and a twin bed, bedroom #2 on this level has a queen bed and access to the outdoors via a private entrance.
Level two is the kitchen and living area with a ½ bath. It is fully furnished and has modern appliances including filtered water, wifi, cable TV and ipod doc for your favorite music.
Level 3 is the Master Bedroom with a King bed and bath featuring a shower and jauczzi tub. All bedrooms have high end bedding and natural woven window shades.Total adult sleeping capacity is 7 or 9 if you use the sleeper sofa.
This is a truly amazing house for use in the winter/skiing/casino and summers cool days and nights. You'll find yourself wanting to return time and time again.

We loved our stay. Home is very nice and well stocked with kitchen utensils for cooking! It snowed Christmas Eve and was beautiful! Very quiet and peaceful.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

Secluded but close in to Ruidoso. This is our fourth stay and it keeps getting better. Coffee in the morning on the deck with only the whistle of the wind in the pine trees is priceless. We love having the deer eat out of our hands. Visits by three Elk cows were a new this visit. We still would be there if we could!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, pet owners, age 55+.

This is a wonderful property if you are seeking privacy, quiet, nature and comfortable, first class accomodations. Close enough to Ruidoso to enjoy the activities offered there and far enough away from the noise of Ruidoso to enjoy the wind in the pines and unbelievable stars at night. Owner is very accomodating. Great rental.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, pet owners.

We thoroughly enjoyed our times as guests in this wonderful mountain retreat. We had constant wildlife providing endless entertainment from a bear and cubs to elk and deer as well as wild turkeys. All viewed from the comfortably accommodating deck that juts out from the mountainside. There was a tremendous amount to do in the near vicinity such as hiking at the nearby Ski Apache mountain to enjoying watching the horses race at Ruidoso Downs just a few miles away. We also tried several restaurants in town and were pleased with the laid back attitudes of everyone we encountered. Very nice shops all along the main drag in town too. Looking forward to visiting during the ski season - thank you so much!!Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children.

My family and I spent a wonderful weekend at this location recently. We felt like we were at a 5 STAR HOTEL in the woods...just without the staff! The owner thought of everything. We had all of the conveniences of being at home with all the modern features like top quality kitchen appliances and the most up to date entertainment systems. Our stay was extremely relaxed and comfortable. The cabin was nicely furnished with unique decorator accents that appeals to most everyone's taste. This property would easily accommodate 8-10 people without feeling crowded or cramped.Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, age 55+.

It is the most unique log cabin we have ever seen and it was love at first site. We had been looking for a long time for just the right property and this is it.

There are so many stars visible at night from the top deck and just hearing the wind thru the pines is enough, but there is also wildlife watching, hiking, shopping nearby and a wonderful variety of food at nearby resturants. We have a detailed listing at the cabin of all our favorites. Wildlife that's been seen from the cabin include: deer, elk, turkeys, squirrels, skunks, foxes. A mother bear with cubs was seen by one guest..
The birds in this area are colorful and abdundant with no short supply of hummingbirds during the summer months.
