We were in town for our son's college graduation from Texas State. We stayed at Island House and had lots of family over for a graduation celebration. The amazing back porch was large enough for everyone to spread out and visit. The house itself is comfortable and lovely! We will definitely be back and many family members mentioned making a return trip, as well.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

My family and I had a great stay at this hill country home. Everything was just as expected according to the listing. Directions to the house were helpful. The house was very clean, spacious and the view from the deck was spectacular. Pool was nice and clean but the water was too cold to get in during the month of February. We had some problem with the cable but the owner took care of the problem right away. The neighborhood was also nice for walks and the golf coarse was right across the street for golfers. The deer were a sight to see. Downtown was just down the road and very entertaining as far as shops, galleries, restaurants and bar and grills. A grocery store was also just down the road for whatever we needed at the last minute. We all had a great time and definitely recommend this home. Thank You!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

In September was my 2nd year to spend the weekend at the Island House at Cypress Falls & will return as often as I can. It was girls weekend for us. The porch is my favorite place to sit around & visit or just sit and enjoy the wonderful view that puts you in a peaceful frame of mind. Very spacious & clean and just a hop, skip & a jump to the square. Can't wait till next year!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Two consultants in need of R&R, we were looking for something driving distance from DFW. Counting heavily on the pics and reviews we booked this place for 4 nights. We have not been disappointed. The description may well undersell the features of this cozy home. Currnnently on third full day here. I write this while sitting on the back porch in a comfy chair watching the clouds blow by over the hills across the valley. Across the pool, down the hill, is Cypress Creek and a small unused park across the way. Wind chimes are ringing somewhere. The view is great. We brought everything we thought we would need, from music to bottle openers. It turns out the place is well supplied. Champagne flutes, wine glasses, wine bottle opener, church key, and an iPod doc that fills the house with music. Heck, they even had an iPod with a decent playlist. Wireless Internet connection was fine but only really used for some Skype and light face-booking. Sitting on back deck was great entertainment. There are two flat screens with satellite connections, the one in the living room has the best picture. Washer and dryer are in good shape. We only used the master, which is roomy and comfortable, but there was a queen in another room that had a sliding glass door to the deck and then two small beds in the third bedroom. Plenty of room to park but not covered. Short drive toward town down 12 takes you past the Sugar Shack, make that a mandatory stop for cupcakes Caught some live music at Inoz's. Dinner at Leaning Pear. Go see Blue Hole and Jacob's Well since they are right here (blue hole to hang out and swim, Jacobs to swim but mainly just to see it, very unique) Some good artists represented on the square too. Only slight downside is the noise from the pool equipment while sitting outside. But that is really just the cost of having the pool. Overall, great vibe, great place, we shall return.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This was a girls only getaway. When we arrived we met the lady that cleans the house. She was so helpful and showed around. This house has everything you need or want. They even provide fresh ground coffee. The house was really clean and nicely decorated. The back porch view was awesome. The pool was right off the porch. This was the best house I've ever rented and I have rented a lot on VBRO. Thanks for the memories. Next time I will be back with my hubby and friends.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you so much for your nice review. We make every effort for our home to be comfortable for our guests and we appreciate your genuine feedback. We will continue to make updates and improvements which will make your next visit even more pleasant. Thanks again! Suzanne

A beautiful weekend was enjoyed by a group of long time friends. The house is very comfortable with lovely accommodations and really interesting art work. So pleasant to sit on the veranda, drink a glass of wine, and look at Cypress Creek. Nice neighbors and the owner was quickly responsive to a phone call regarding a minor question. Hope to stay again in the future and would recommend it to others.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

The house was charming, clean, comfortable and conveniently located near Wimberely... just close enough to town to have access to restaurants and shopping and just far enough away to feel like a real vacation retreat. When viewing this property I came across a review that shook my confidence about renting the house... the review was totally unfounded. The owners are responsive and honest and the home is maintained beautifully. I highly recommend this property to anyone that wants a comfortable quite retreat. We will be back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

A very relaxing place to stay with a wonderful view. It's one of those houses you walk into and feel at home immediately. The house was very spacious and having 2 1/2 bathrooms was a big plus. The towels were a good surprise with extra's stocked if needed. The wrap around patio with a pool & a view of the water below was my favorite. Shopping was maybe 15 minutes away. Couldn't ask for anything more.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
