As a family of 7, my husband and I, my brother, his wife and two kids and my dad stayed at this beautiful house for 10 nights in November 2012. The house is equipped nicely with outdoor items, such as kayaks, boogie boards, snorkel masks, life jackets and sand toys (for the kids). Inside, it is much the same; coolers for excursions, beach towels, fully equipped kitchen are just to name a few. Some of the furnishings/fixtures could be updated, as they are wearing, but nothing too concerning. The bed in the second bedroom is lousy, needs to be replaced. We found that we ran out of toiletries during our stay, and was some what surprised to find out that we needed to purchase these, that there was no 'supply closet'. Again, not a problem, just unexpected. The BBQ propane tank was empty and was quickly filled and the BBQ fixed promptly. We had an issue with the freezer, but again, this was resolved quickly. The house is located on a quiet beach with very easy access to all the island has to offer. We had an amazing time, and highly recommend this to all.

The Secret Cove Villa has the most dramatic view from it's wonderful deck. The sun rise is spectacular with your morning cup of coffee. The house is situated on a beautiful bay that is perfect for swimming and snorkeling. You are close to Kapa'a, stores, great places to eat, and just around the corner from Princeville. If you want an idyllic Hawaiian vacation this is the perfect house. The house is set up nicely. Easy to use kitchen, barbacued each night on the deck, lots of towels (beach towels also), and every room has a view of the ocean. We had a problem with an air conditioneer, Jan the property manager was right on top of it, and it was replaced the next day. We live in San Diego, a wonderful beach community, but I would come bact to the Secret Cove Villa in a heart beat. A wonderful home with the most spectacular view of the ocean.

We stayed as part of a 5 adult group to celebrate a couple monumental birthdays in the year. We found the place on VRBO and of several places we have rented on the site, this is the top selection. We arrived while the cleaning crew was still there and they were welcoming and a pleasure to deal with. The sweeping view of the beach and bay was breathtaking. We were able to experience amazing sunrises from all parts of the house as every room looks out onto the ocean. The location is near Kapaa and the supermarkets and restaurants there as well as an easy drive to Princeville and Hanalei Bay. We would highly recommend this home to all who wish to visit Kauai!

This is the first time I have written a review about a vacation home but I'm compelled after staying at the Secret Cove Villa. It was stunning. The house is beautiful and right on the beach. One whole wall of the home is windows overlooking the water. The beach is very private as well. We stayed a week and did not see more than 5 people on the beach the the whole time. Most days we were the only ones down there. The other great thing is that that the water is calm because of a coral reef. There are many small tide pools behind the house for children to play in. We had fun snorkeling and kayaking as well. This place is a great deal. I can't think of staying anywhere else when we go back.

Secret Cove Villa proved to be the perfect answer for my desire to stay in a quiet, secluded, beachfront estate in the lush, tropical Garden Island of Kauai. The spectacular views from the villa, the surrounding coconut trees and foliage, and relaxing in the private, sheltered beach coves will forever remain in my memory. The villa's staff ensured that my stay was carefree, and booking my reservations was uncomplicated and easy. I highly recommend this property to travelers looking for a peaceful oasis in the unspoiled, slow-paced, naturally beautiful island of Kauai.

Secret Cove Villa was the greatest - we hated to leave this lovely home. We all felt like this home far exceeded our expectations, it was amazing! The beach being "right there" and the view from every window was mind-boggling. We all arose with the hint of sunrise (and the rooster, which made us smile) and we were out on the lanai with our cameras. We were lucky enough to have a full moon and the sight of that every night over the beach was so memorable, in fact, I found an artist who painted that scene on a coconut, and that now sits in my home. We swam and snorkeled in the cove, used the kayaks and equipment and made it to several other beaches, which was enjoyable, also did the helicopter, zip line, catamaran, The Canyon and also some gardens. In between, we enjoyed "the Villa" and cooked and ate good meals, with the kitchen being so well stocked with spices and misc. things, as well as the professional equipment provided. We used Safeway and that worked out well, having their "customer card". We ate some meals out too and that was fun, also fixed a pic nic lunch. Also liked those hoses - to clean our shoes and beach things, that worked well. The best part was that this family of 5 truly bonded during this trip and we all will have many happy memories, (and close to 5,000 pictures, between us) to enjoy in our coming days. It was a perfect 50th Wedding Anniversary trip for my husband and I, as well as our three kids. We appreciate Jan from VRBO who was very helpful and answered all our questions beforehand and this helped us get ready and know what to expect. Also to to Mike, the property manager, for being there for us and also being so helpful. Thank you to the owners, also - for allowing us to rent their beautiful home, filled with their many collections of interesting pieces and so nicely done. Everything was quite comfortable and we felt very priviledged to enjoy it as well. Everything done for us was in the true Aloha Spirit. Mahola!

We enjoyed our recent stay at Secret Cove Villa and found the location and villa conducive to a nice relaxing holiday. The beach was easy to access and having the kayaks available was a very nice feature. The outdoor shower and hose made cleaning up from the beach easy and very convenient. The location between Kapa'a and North Shore made either location quick to access. I enjoyed the surrounding views for my morning jog and it was a very quiet and peaceful area. The villa itself had everything you need inside to make yourself comfortable and was very roomy. The lanai area and BBQ was our favourite location to just sit and read or enjoy a glass of wine. If you get a chance, try the Shave Ice at the Defries lunch wagon in Anahola, very tasty. You will enjoy your stay.

I am truly lost for words to describe the house and our stay. I really don't know how a trip to Kauai can get any better than staying at this house. This was my 3rd trip to Kauai and by far my most enjoyable. Pictures just can't describe the warm feeling you get from staying here. The view from every room in the house is amazing. The inside of the house has everything you need. This is my 3rd time to rent a house in Hawaii (two times on the Big Island and my the way both times they were $3-5 Millions houses) I can honestly say I would come back to this house first and I have already made my reservations to come back here. If you have a chance to go to Kauai and stay here believe me you will never forget it.

SIX OF US STAYED 10 NIGHTS AT THE VILLA AND WHAT A DELIGHTFUL TIME WE HAD - BOTH AT THE VILLA AND ON KAUAI. THE VILLA SURPASSED OUR EXPECTATIONS AND IS THE BEST PLACE I HAVE STAYED IN HAWAII. WE'VE VISITED 4 OF THE ISLANDS BUT BY FAR, KAUAI IS OUR FAVORITE. THE VILLA IS SPACIOUS, BEAUTIFUL, RESTFUL, PEACEFUL, AND LIKE NO OTHER PLACE WE'VE STAYED. THE STAFF IS GREAT TO WORK WITH AND VERY ATTENTIVE TO OUR NEEDS. WHAT PEACE WE ENJOYED, DRINKING COFFEE EVERY MORNING ON THE LANAI...WALKING A FEW STEPS DOWN TO THE BEAUTIFUL AND CALM WATERS. "MET" THE MONK SEAL...ENJOYED THE "MAC" NUTS STICKY BUNS AT THE BAKERY ON THE LIGHTHOUSE ROAD...A MUST SEE IS QUEEN'S BATH IN PRINCEVILLE...ANOTHER MUST SEE IS THE WIAMEA CANYON...BE SURE TO GO ALL THE WAY TO THE END OF THE ROAD...A SCENIC POINT NOT TO BE MISSED. BE SURE TO PICK UP (BEFORE YOUR TRIP) THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO KAUAI...IT WILL TAKE YOU PLACES THAT OTHERS WON'T. BE SURE TO VISIT THE QUAINT TOWN OF HANAPEPE...THE MACADAMIAN NUT MILKSHAKE IN HANALEIA IS YUMMIE...ATV RIDE IN KIPU IS AWESOME...AND BEST OF ALL, SECRET COVE VILLA IS POSITIONED WELL SO THAT THERE ARE MANY SIGHTS WITH EASY DRIVING DISTANCE. WE DID NOT "WANT" FOR ANYTHING WHILE STAYING AT THE VILLA....KITCHEN WELL-EQUIPPED...BEDROOMS SPACIOUS AND BEDDING SOFT, SOFT, SOFT! IT WAS NICE TO COME HOME AFTER A HOT DAY OUT AND FIND A COOL, REFRESHING HOUSE TO AWAIT US. BE SURE TO SEE "KONG" FROM THE DRIVE IN FRONT OF THE VILLA. I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT THE VILLA. THE BAD THING IS THAT WE'RE GOING BACK NEXT YEAR (JUNE 2012) AND THE VILLA IS ALREADY RENTED!!!!! WE ARE SAD ABOUT THAT!! BE SURE TO TAKE IN THE MANY FARMER'S MARKETS ALL AROUND THE ISLAND. DUKE'S CANOE CLUB IN LIHUE IS GREAT EVENING DINING AND THE BLUE DOLPHIN IN HANALEIA IS FABULOUS. FRIED SHRIMP BEST I'VE EVER HAD! ALOHA AND HAVE A FABULOUS STAY AT THE SECRET COVE VILLA! LINDA, KIMBLE, CAROLYNN, BILL, SHIRLEY & STAN 6/23-7/3/11

Secret Cove Villa absolutely MADE our trip to Kauai. We expected it to be nice, but when we walked inside, we were literally blown away. Not only is it beautiful, gorgeously decorated, filled with every amenity you can need, and super comfortable, the location is simply stunning. Seeing the amazing views from every room never stopped taking our breath away. We appreciated the cold a/c, the comfy sofa, the super soft linens, the well equipped kitchen, the endless supply of beach towels, bath towels, books, dvds, games, water toys, kayaks, and the welcome basket of goodies and chilled champagne when we arrived! The location was also incredibly convenient to all of the island and made getting around easy. We loved the seclusion of the property and the perfect beach that it sits on. It's a perfect beach for beachcombing, long walks, swimming, and kayaking. This is the most perfect villa on the most perfect beach on the most perfect island! It just doesn't get any better than this.

We stayed for a week at the end of February 2011 at Secret Cove Villa. Setting it up through this website went very smoothly. Three direct deposits to make the total including cleaing and security. Getting to the home was very easy and it was clean and ready for us when we arrived late afternoon. We had two cars and they were easly accomodated in the parallel parking spaces at the front of the house. The local go-to-guy for the house is easy to get in touch with and very responsive. The view over the ocean is as beautiful and more than seen on the VRBO website. Spectactular sunrises and the scene constantly changes with the weather. We were able to see whale spouts and a few breaching whales in the distance from the lanai. The home is very comfortable and clean. We were not all all disappointed with the online promises made for beautiful and comfortable surroundings. The kitchen is also fully loaded so cooking meals is not a problem if you are in the mood to cook. Minor gripes might be that there are few windows that open and they do not have screens so flies do come in. Not being able to open the windows also means that one hears the AC while inside the house versus the ocean and trees blowing in the breeze. The cove is nice for swimming and kayaking. There are better places on the island for snorkeling. There were some ants on the lanai, but bugs are to be expected. All in all the place gets four thumbs up (there wre four of us staying there).

We had a wonderful time at the Secret Cove Villa, the best was the planet Venus reflection shining through the windows in the early morning dawn. Sunrises, snorkeling, kayaking, walking the beaches, monk seals, quiet nights - Secret Cove Villa has it all.

Wow! The views, the secluded ½ mile long beach along with a great house makes the perfect vacation spot. Kayaking everyday in a peaceful cove which is great for snorkeling and swimming can’t be beat by the resort style places located on the south side of the Island. Watching the beautiful sunrise every morning from the porch located directly off each bedroom was stunning and surreal. Seeing a variety of fish and coral (while snorkeling), sea turtles, and a Hawaiian monk seal within steps from the backdoor was amazing and beats anywhere else on the island. Favorite dinner food was at Wahoo in Kapaa (John the waiter is awesome) and the dessert was fantastic. Favorite lunch food was Dwayne’s char-burger located south of the house a couple miles on hwy 56. We used The Ultimate Kauai Guidebook, Kauai Revealed and it was spot-on at finding great food spots. Favorite part of the island was this house because we had everything we wanted to do right there but our second favorite part was the North shore. Watch out the waves are rough on the North shore but a good time. Being the first to stay we did make some suggestions and before we left a few of them had already been fulfilled and that is credit to the property manager. We had a great time and would recommend this home to anyone going to Kauai. To the owner we would like to say thanks for expediting the landscaping so we could enjoy this beautiful home.
