An amazing summer month in Vermont - July 2011
An amazing summer month in Vermont - July 2011

We had the most amazing month! Somehow we managed to find the perfect place, the perfect camp, the perfect time (and a Month of perfect weather! How does that happen?). Even though its 86 degrees up here today, the wind is whistling up the hill keeping us cool (and bug free). The girls loved Farm and Wilderness. We loved the area. We hiked, swam, explored, & shopped. We watched birds, frogs, salamanders, deer (no moose… too bad) and the chipmunks of course. Favorite places: Buttermilk Falls, McClendan Gorge, Mt. Tom, Billings Farm, 4th of July at Woodstock High, and The waterfront at Barn Day Camp! But most of all, we love this house!! Hours spent hiking the trails, swimming, playing with the canoe and rope swing, cooking out and dancing on the grass in the beautiful sunsets; sitting on the porch and counting our blessings. Thank you for sharing this piece of heaven. We would love to return!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, adventure seekers.

Our group had a wonderful stay at the house from March 4-6. Half of us went to Okemo mountain despite the forecast of rainy conditions, but the afternoon prevailed with no rain and good riding. The other half had a late wake up and a nice tour of the Plymouth area while stopping off at the Longtrail brewery for a late lunch and a few drinks. Overall our trip was great. The house we rented was somewhat close to the main road so very accessible to many activities. However, the view and secluded nature of the home cannot be beat. The home was well stocked with food even though we brought our own and even left some for the next renters! The house had a nice sound system that enabled us to play some music outdoors. The biggest attraction of the house was the enormous fireplace. A few of us had purchased massages from Jan and their responses were along the lines of spectacular, spiritual, and the perfect way to end a day at the mountain. Thanks for your services and we hope to come back soon!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, people with disabilities.

Of all the rental properties I've stayed at in Vermont, this one is truly the cream of the crop. Tons of space, beautifully decorated and fully equipped with everything you need! I short drive to Killington and everything you need to wind down comfortably after a long day of skiing and boarding. Not to mention the very friendly and helpful Chris that answered all my questions and a delight to work with. We will definitely be back!! Thanks for everything. :)Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers.

Thanks for a great place for us to stay. It was very comfortable and it's in a great location between two mountains. Everyone enjoyed their trip and had a great time in the house. For 16 people, the house was just right and it wasn't too crowded. Many of us have already signed and commented in the guest log book. We would definitely book this house again in the near future. Thank you very much for your trust with 16 of us in the house and for your quick responses with our questions. Thanks again. See you very soon. Tian and 15 other happy skiers and boarders!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, people with disabilities.

We loved our time in the house. It was a GREAT place to spend a week in the summer. The kids loved hanging out on the property, playing whiffle ball, swimming in the awesome pond, trying the rope swing--so did I. We loved having campfires every night. Seriously it was a wonderful place tp really be outside and also to relax and we highly recommend it.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

Everything is just as it looks online. We felt like we were staying at a friend's house. We were in Vermont for a wedding and wished that we had more time to enjoy the house, the grounds, and the barn with ducks and chickens.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

I stayed here for a week during the winter months and another week during the summer. This place is truly amazing. It's unbelievable that the owner built this with his own hands. He is extremely knowledgeable about nature and all the area has to offer. I highly recommend this as a vacation getaway. I skied at Okemo and Killington, snowshoed on the property and sat by the cozy fireplace often! In the summer, I hiked the nearby Appalachian trail and trails around the property, kayaked in the lake and absolutely loved stargazing by the campfire each night. I am looking forward to heading back there in the fall to see the leaves changing. So many good things to say about the owner, the location, the property itself and all of the beauty surrounding it!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.
