Spacious Secluded Luxury Home - 10 Minutes from Vail Mountain
- Minimum stay:3-5 nights
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
Located above an exclusive cul-de-sac, with the White River National Forest directly behind the property and preserved open space in front of it, this luxury mountain getaway will instantly warm you with its character and attention to detail. From the moment you enter the home, you are surrounded by luxurious comfort and exquisite artwork and decoration.
While you will be likely to greet your guests at the grand main entrance, you may personally enjoy entering the residence by parking your vehicle in the heated garage and entering the home through the spacious “mud-room” filled with ample coat racks and cubby-hole storage for all of your recreational accessories (ski boots, goggles, hats, etc). Once inside, the spacious entry hall will lead you past the guest 1/2 bath and gorgeous dining area and into the huge great room/kitchen area.
The Main entry level also contains a Master Bedroom suite with private office, secluded from the great room living area by a hallway with doors on both ends for absolute privacy. The Master Bedroom suite contains a master bath with two separate vanities, jacuzzi tub, private commode, and a walk-in shower with bench, multiple shower heads, and steam. It has an ample closet with its own washer and dryer. The master bedroom shares a gas fireplace with the attached private office. The office opens onto a large front deck and the master bedroom hallway allows access to a smaller rear-deck with 6 person jacuzzi directly viewing national forest.
In the great room, there is a door to access the rear deck and jacuzzi, large living area with couch, recliner, gas fireplace and television/entertainment center. There is also a dry bar with an ice-maker and wine-cooler.
The spacious kitchen flows directly into and out of the great room and shares the 20 foot ceilings from the great room. The kitchen has all the amenities you would expect and more with a large breakfast nook that can seat everyone, a small work desk, and plenty of pantry space.
The Downstairs level of the house is really like a second home. It starts with a master bedroom/bathroom suite containing an extended single vanity, private commode, and a walk-in shower with bench, multiple shower-heads, and steam. The downstairs master suite has a large closet with plenty of drawer and hanging space. Just outside the downstairs master is a large living area with entertainment center, small wet bar, gas fireplace, and a small work desk. This living room has a door which opens onto the exterior downstairs patio. It is here that you will also find access to the main laundry room with full size washer/dryer and storage cabinets.
Continuing down the hallway past the living room, you will find a full-sized, exquisitely decorated bathroom with full-size tub, large single vanity, and private commode. This bathroom also opens onto the second downstairs bedroom, effectively making the second downstairs bedroom a bedroom/bathroom suite.
Finally, at the end of the hallway is a comfortable bunk room. The bottom bunk is a double bed and the upper a single.
All of this luxury, style and convenience is located less than ten minutes from Vail mountain. You are also less than 10 minutes from the nearby West-Vail shopping center which contains two full grocery stores, a liquor store, several restaurants, and many more shops. The Cascade Village spa and health center is also very nearby.
** Important Note: This secluded home has a long driveway with fairly steep grades. The road to the home is maintained by the Town of Vail and the driveway to the home is regularly plowed. Nonetheless, for the comfort and safety of our guests and neighbors, we REQUIRE our guests to have a FOUR-WHEEL-DRIVE vehicle to access our home between the dates of November 10 and April 20.

My family and I recently had one of our best vacations ever, due largely to the amazing home we rented for a week. Spacious, comfortable, in a gorgeous setting with blissful views. The home was right out of "House Beautiful". All the creature comforts you could ask for, steam showers, large kitchen, two living rooms, a whole level just for the kids to call their own. Close to Vail Village. Easy drive to Eagle Vail Airport. Looking forward to coming back next year. Two thumbs up!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2003
About the owner: After skiing and traveling all over the world and visiting my son while he was living in Vail in the late 80's, I decided there was no other Mountain Town that I needed in my life, Vail had everything for me! I purchased a beautiful and secluded piece of land with the hope that I would one day build my dream home there. Between 2002 and 2004 this dream was realized when my wife and I had a home custom-built on the site to meet our every need and desire. Sometime later, as others began to build in the area, I purchased the lot directly in front of my mountain home to assure an open space view in the front (the back faces the White River National Forest, so that view too is eternally preserved). As I am not able to use the home as often as I would like to now, I am offering it to a select group of clientele who will respect and appreciate the incredible beauty of the area and our proximity to the best ski mountain in the world. I so enjoy the time I spend here with my family (you can see me with my granddaughter and my dog in this picture) and look forward to sharing the wonderful ambiance of our home with guests who can similarly appreciate what it has to offer.
Why the Owner Chose Highland Meadows:
I have skied and toured all over the world and when my son was living in Vail I visited him here often. The skiing is hands down some of the best in the world, with huge amounts of skiable terrain in one place and lots of powder every season. The Summers are gorgeous, the weather is perfect and there is amazing hiking, biking, fishing, golfing, and so much more. The Fall presents an absolutely astounding canvas of colors and tones and is cool and crisp. This is simply one of the most beautiful places I have ever been and I knew it would serve me and my family well for years to come.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
extremely private, direct view of national forest (back yard ends at forest), preserved open space in front of house, exquisitely decorated for comfort and luxury.
