I spent 8 days at Fred and Fran's lovely property. The inside was clean and beautiful with fresh sheets, blankets and lovely towels. There is an inviting view to the beach from every room and the waves lull you to sleep in a very comfortable bed. Although there is a full kitchen there I didn't cook many suppers. A big dinner of fresh fish tacos can be eaten at the restaurant a 5 minute walk away. There is also a washer and dryer at Fred and Fran's. The 7 mile long beach is often unpopulated and the water is always warm. You can run right in. The 20 minute walk into town along the water is a pleasure and it's fun to practise Spanish with the people you meet on the way. Some sights to see are El Cora; neighbouring villages; and the market and Garza Canela (restaurant) in Sans Blas. My favourite things were watching the sunrise looking out over the water with a nice coffee and reading a good book in that comfy lounge chair.Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

We spent a week here and loved it. Right ona long, very unpopulated beach during the week. Acommodations are first rate with all the comforts of home, Mexican style. If you want bright lights, discos and bars this is NOT the area to go to but if a quiet, relaxed and scenic vacation is your preference, away from the daily grind, this is the spot. Walked the 7 km. beach daily, toured El Coro ( not to be missed) visited San Blas and had numerous meals at local ramadas and a 5 star in San Blas ( Garza Canela) which is outstanding. Visit Tepic, Los Plantanitos village and beach, San Blas square for market and talk to the locals who are the most accomodating people you can meet. Quite a number of Americans and Canadian have home here and spend 6 months or more relaxing, enjoying endless blue skies and some of the best seafood in Mexico. The listing is described accurately and the owner has a local electrican/plumber available should you need his asssitance. (I couldn't find the spark for the gas stove and called for help which arrived in 10 minutes.) All appliances are new, the unit is two floors and was spotless, the king bed very comfortable and with the doors to the deck open at night, the sound of the waves coming from the far east will lull yyou to sleep quickly. Local mini-marts and the market in San Blas have all the supplies you will need and local prices for wine, beer and spirits are very inexpensive. The surrounding area is a farming ( mangos, bananas, melons etc) community with local fishermen selling fresh fish and shrimp that are just caught. Overall, a peaceful and relaxing visit in a very nice facility.Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2004
About the owner: We are retired school teacher/administrators who have developed two acres of ocean-front property into a private vacation compound. Our duplex is set amongst over 40 palms and other plants in a 'green oasis'.
Why the Owner Chose Aticama:
We stayed in Aticama to get away from the noise and congestion of the resort cities of Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlan, which are both two to three hours away. We sought and found 'real Mexico'.
The Unique Benefits at this Townhome:
The seafood is caught that day, the poultry fresh and all at a fraction of the cost in the US or larger cities.
