We stayed here for a week and absolutely loved every minute of if. The location was perfect and the condo itself is very quiet and private. The bed was super comfy too. We never got a chance to meet the owners but they were very fast and efficient when booking the accommodations. We wouldn't hesitate to book this condo again. For the price it's an absolute steal of a deal.

This rental is better than the pictures portray! My husband and I stayed for a week and enjoyed every minute. The rental is private, quiet and comfortable. It has everything you could possibly need to cook, explore and play on the beach. They have bikes, beach chairs, snorkels, sun umbrellas, ice chest and many other thing you can borrow. The rental is within walking distance to a very cute beach town and right across from a beautiful beach. The beach is not too crowded and has tons of green sea turtles as well as beautiful sunsets. The family lives right upstairs so is available for any questions, but were very respectful of our privacy and were very quiet. Parking can be an issue near the beaches in the afternoon, but this unit has a parking spot off the road right in front of the house. We explored the whole island, but would highly recommend staying on the north side if you don't enjoy the crowds in Honolulu. Would absolutely recommend this rental.

We had a great stay here. The owners respected our privacy, but were also very available when we had questions or requests. The rental is clean, cute, and has everything you would need. We loved being in Haleiwa-what a great little community. Great beaches, food and shops. We would definitely stay here again.

These accommodations were even better than we had expected! The location was perfect to walk into Haleiwa to our favourite coffee shop every morning and to explore the beach, right across the street. The apartment was very clean and well maintained and had everything we could have asked for in a kitchen. The owners were warm and welcoming, with lots of great suggestions for activities. During our trip we split our time between Hale Kaupe and a resort in Ko Olina, but we wished we would have stayed at this charming apartment the whole time! Thanks so much for a great visit and we hope to be back soon!

Posing as a katonk on the mainland and having relatives in Wahiawa and Mililani this was the perfect travel setup for me. Visit the cousins nearby but have short drive access to all my favorite beaches along the North Shore (Kaena Pt, Mokuleia, Waimea Bay, Sunset Beach) For Oahu travelers who love the beach, flee Honolulu and check out the North Shore of Oahu. With that plan in mind, this cottage is an ideal location for walking to the restaurants, shops, harbor and beaches in Haleiwa. It was clean, quiet, nicely priced, on the 1st floor and had access to various additions such as bikes and beach chairs. Being an early riser, it was really cool to sit in the chairs in the background, kickback, listen to the morning sounds, have some coffee and read a book. The hosts were very nice and they provided really good local information in the area to make some good choices for activities. Only regret was not being able to stay long enough to tolerate a long wait for Matsumotos shave ice. I'll get there the next North Shore trip. This cottage is on my list for places to stay.

I have to echo what others have said. I had very high expectations based on the owner's description, the pictures, and the excellent reviews, and my expectations were actually exceeded! I walked in and immediately said "Wow!" Hale Kaupe has a perfect, surprisingly spacious layout and the decor and even the books are beautiful and very evocative of Hawai'i. Every amenity I could possibly want for beach, kitchen, and even bathroom was provided. I took advantage of the bikes, beach chairs, and even sunscreen and insect repellent (which I needed for a hike, not for the house). The yard, which was "mine" while there, was simply beautiful and the trampoline was a fun added bonus. The books were great, particularly Clark Little's beautiful Shorebreak book, which I bought a year ago for a friend and enjoyed reading again. One of my local friends loved this place so much that she stayed with me for several days instead of staying in her own place, and she said the futon was just as comfortable as her own bed! Hale Kaupe is by far the best of the dozen or so Oahu rentals I've had the pleasure of calling "home" for a week. I hated to leave and can't wait to go back. Mahalo nui loa for creating such a great space, and sharing it at such a reasonable price.

This was my first visit to Hawaii and I wanted a non-resort, small town experience with lots of local flavor. Hale Kaupe is the perfect spot! Haleiwa is a small surfing town on the North Shore with lots of shopping and really good food. I was able to walk or ride a bike everywhere around town and only used my car for trips to the airport or to explore the island. There is also a bus that runs through town if you want to explore further as well. Hale Kaupe is just steps away from the beach and a beautiful park to watch the surfers or sunsets. I cannot say enough good things about the family who owns the property. They were incredibly warm and were very helpful with any questions I had. I found so many good places to eat because of them! Besides that, they seem very happy to share their beautiful home with guests and their love of Hawaii. I am so glad I chose Hale Kaupe. It was everything I imagined in a low-key, relaxing vacation. I will definitely make this a repeat destination and would recommend it 100%.

This was the perfect stay for our short Hawaiian vacation! It's on the opposite side of the island from the airport (about a 45 minute drive) so this is a getaway within Hawaii! The location was just seconds from the water, and only a quick walk to the shops and restaurants. The room was a comfortable place to come back to after a full day of being a tourist. Honestly, I can't think of anything I'd change. I'm definitely coming back!!!

We needed a place to stay on the North Shore for a wedding. Hale Kaupe surprised us with both its price and how incredibly nice it was. This gem was cozy, well decorated and convenient to downtown Haleiwa. The owners include bikes (great for riding along the beach), snorkels, and a well equipped kitchen among other amenities. While many of our other friends in the area had problems with bugs in their rentals, Hale Kaupe was immaculately clean and completely critter-free. I'd recommend staying here to anyone who is interested in a great stay on the North Shore!
