This was our second time coming back to Costa Rica and we were thrilled by our choice of skipping an all inclusive resort and staying in Coco. Having the condo was so much BETTER!!. The condo was very well equipped with all of the creature comforts (fluffy towels, comfy beds, well stocked kitchen with a blender that did justice to our slushy drinks, beach chairs, ..etc.) The A/C worked great and being on the 2nd floor it was lush and private to have coffee early in the morning on the balconey. The other people at the condo we also very friendly and very helpful in pointing us in the right direction for restaurants, groceries..etc. and it was nice to have a drink and sit by the pool in the late afternoon and talk with everyone. The location of the condo was even better than we had expected.. town was only a short walk along the beach (don' walk the road.. the beach is so much better!!). We also felt very safe all over this area. Groceries were easy to find and Coco has so many restaurants to chose from. We did some great dinners that made ourselves and we also had some wonderful meals out. The monkey's in the mango tree across the road were our morning alarm clock.. we got some great pictures of them. Sunsets on the beach across the road were amazing (we took lots of pictures that we hope to frame... We loved everything about this trip.. so much so that the day after we came home we have booked it again!!!!

Owner response: There are so many more benefits to staying at a vacation home rather that a resort. You can sleep in, eat when you want, and what you want. Cook In or Go Out. Not having to leave the room just for a snack or drinks. Experience living in a small town with it's individual cultural events. The local people appreciate the experience as much as we do. It makes for a different experience, seeing the country as it really is as apposed to just a resort community, or tourist strip. Everyone should try it at least once.

This place is the perfect place away from home, it comes very well stocked and clean. We met some very nice owners that stay there full time or for a good part of the year, they are very helpful with any questions you'll have (food shopping, tours, restaurants....etc). This is a very small complex (10 units), very clean and secure (there's a full time security guard at night). It's one property away from the beach and a short 15 minute walk along the beach into town. There are 4 grocery chains in town to choose from, the AM is fully air conditioned and stocked with all the comforts of home. A block from the complex is a convienience store that carries pretty much every thing that you may need in a pinch. There are several bars in town that cater to every need, happy hour from 11am to 7pm or 'Ladies Night' where ladies drink free if you're so inclined and they do serve decent food for a pub. Overall this location was perfect for us, it was about a half hour from the airport and all the tours of Costa Rica could be booked out of here and the unit was 'As Advertised'. The owners were very easy to deal with as well. Looking forward to heading back there some day soon.

Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

This is our second trip to Costa Rica. We stayed near Jaco last time at another condo. We absolutely loved this part of Cost Rica and the condo! It's true that everything is within walking distance. We cooked several meals in the condo, especially after we found the local butcher and fish store. The condo is well stocked and private with the foliage sheltering the balcony from the pool. The beach is a couple of minutes away and very clean. We have recommended this condo to several of our friends and plan on returning next year. Besides some of the restaurants downtown Coco, there are several charming bars/restaurants on the beach as you walk toward the other towns. I would highly recommend this property!

Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

Christmas in paradise!

We are a family of three that stayed in this condo during Christmas/New Years 2012. We found the condo to be clean, well supplied with all ammenities you could hope to have. The grounds and pool are exceptionally maintained as well. The people that live and were visiting there made our experience one of the best holidays we have had. The beach being two minutes away was beautiful and the walks to the north and south along the beach were truly enjoyable. Playa Del Coco town has restaurants and shopping that should meet everyones tastes. We give this condo and area a full thumbs up!

This is really getting a local experience in another country with all the perks of a well furnished and equipped Condo in the middle of a local population of 5,000 in the surrounding area. Who knew Latin American Spanish had so many different dialects.

My best friend and I have been to this condo three times now and every single time we arrive home, we find ourselves still talking about our experiences we have had there, memories we have made and people we have met. I have not one bad thing to say about this location, the cleanliness of the condo, the people in the complex, and the overall stay in Coco. Everyone makes you feel more than welcome, the nightlife is great and town is only a 10 minute walk up the street! To be able to wake up and listen to the ocean and the monkeys in the morning, is truly a vacation. The beach being only accross the street really makes you feel like you are living right in the culture. Staying in this condo has changed my life. It is not only a vacation spot, it has become my second home. I will continue to take vacations at this condo, for I have created so many unforgetable memories and met so many great people! Highly recommend it!!!! PURA VIDA!

Perfection!

I'm not even sure how to put into words how I felt when I walked into this condo. My husband had made all of the arrangements and honestly I can't even count how many pictures he showed me of potential places online before he settled on one. When we arrived in Costa Rica our guide and driver Roy (who happens to live at the condo complex) drove us from the airport to the complex and I was beyond pleased with what I was seeing. The condo was beautifully furnished, clean as a whistle and had all of the amenities promised! The grounds of the complex are amazing and the pool provided hours and hours of relaxation and entertainment for us. The beach was literally a 10 second walk and the howler monkeys in a nearby tree were a welcomed surprise. Town is super close and we often walked to and from with ease. The owners were very easy to work with and provided us with unlimited answers to the barrage of questions we threw at them. The price was more than fair and I highly recommend staying in this condo if you are planning to visit Costa Rica. P.S. - the other condo owners in this complex are very inviting, helpful and friendly!

Playa Del Coco Getaway

Stayed here with a group of 4 people for three weeks in November, we all had a great time. Condo is excellently maintained, and incredibly clean. Kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans etc..., everything you will need to cook during your stay. Town is a quick walk away and has many restaurants, and bars. Visited several towns during our stay and found Coco beach to be the best for eating out and night life. Highly recommend the Tuna carpaccio at the seafood restaurant (delicious!), but back to the condo. Owners have created a book of all attractions, guides, and restaurants in the area, we found it very helpful for planning our day trips. Pool and property are meticulously maintained by property management staff. Weather was exceptional only had 3-4 days of clouds in the 21 days we were their, other then that it was blue sky's all day. Many types of day trips are available from the guides recommended in the "condo binder" we went zip lining, rock climbing, ATVing, fishing, snorkeling... basically any type of adventure trip you would like to do is available. To sum up, we all had a great time, and will be planning a trip back soon. Weather you want to just relax by the beach/pool or go for something a little more adventurous, you'll be able to do it in Playa Del Coco. One of the best trips I've ever taken, would highly recommend staying here. Wishing I Was Still Their JK

A great place to stay

We spent 8 blissful days in this condo with a tropical setting, a swimming pool. We would listen to the howler monkeys and birds on the patio every morning with our coffee. The beach was only a 2-3 minute walk away with beautiful sunsets. Town was about 20 minute walk by beach or road, we enjoyed walking the beach at least one way. Cabs was 2 dollars and sometimes we would catch one back if we bought too much in town. A tour guide by the name of Roy lives in the complex and is a great guide. He took us to arenal volcano and zip lining in the canopy with many interesting stops along the way. Went deep sea fishiong with Danny also lives in the complex, caught many fish, including wahoo. Would strongly recommend both of these. This is a great condo to stay at wheayther you do anything or just sit back and relax, or use as a home base for your activities.

CoCo Beach is a perfect place to use as a Hub to enjoy all the attractions that Costa Rica has to offer. Even if guests just want to lay back and enjoy the "Pura Vida", the location is perfect. Everything you could possibly need is within walking distance or a really cheap Taxi ride away.

I stayed here with a group of four people around 30 yrs old, back in March 2011. It was the best trip I have taken in my life and I Travel quite frequently.The condo, building, pool, beach and town are all very clean! The condo is perfectly situated close to the beach and town if you choose to be involved, yet far enough away it is quiet and relaxing. The walk to the beach is literally less than 2 min. and the walk to town is about 10min. The condo is fully stocked, there is nothing that you will need that isn't already there. Including binders of local activities and recommended restaurants and night clubs. The pictures offered on their website are beautiful, however it does not give this place justice. It is absolutely breathtaking. It's been about 4 months now and all four of us still talk about this vacation. It is definitely going to become an annual trip. The locals are soo very friendly (and often referred to themselves as being costa rican canadians), the food is fantastic and very reasonable in price and the night life is great as well, with numerous bars having a ladies night every night! The beach is sandy and clean. Very quiet. Our party was pretty much the only ones on the beach until the weekend when the local would join us to relax or play frizbee or soccer and what not. We went snorkeling but couldn't find too many fish, but saw a few blow fish. We could have been in the wrong place however. There are multiple beaches around Playas del Coco which you could travel to through taxi or a car rental as well. We rented a vehicle and drove to a beach named Tamarindo. It's one of the best places in the world to surf. You could rent a surf board for $20 for the entire day and also reserve surfing lessons for an additional yet reasonable cost. Tamarindo was a great place to visit for the day if you wish for a change of scenery from coco beach. It has crystal clear water and miles of beautiful white sand beach. With our vehicle rental we drove four hours inland to the Arenal volcano. And stayed overnight in an observatory lodge. If you wish to do this make sure you contact the lodge yourself to ensure you have a view of the side of the volcano that spews lava. A sight you will be sorry to miss. All the local lodges in the town of La Fortuna have a view of the volcano, not necessarily on the active side though. So make sure! Our family (five of us) spent 6 days in this luxoriously appointed condo. The owners have thought of everything; from beach towels to a local-use cellphone. One of the owners, Paul met us when we arrived, showed us around and left us with a bag of fresh, locally caught fish. He also graciously drove us to Rincon de la Vieja one day when other arrangement could not be made. The complex is quiet and secure with an all-night guard present. The gardens are lush and well-maintained. The pool was refreshing in the 36deg heat. The beach is just across the road and very quiet: few people and no vendors. Some of the other tennants in the complex were there for more extended periods and were all very pleasant and helpful. Our boys were fascinated by the many iguanas around and I would get up early and bird-watch while having a coffee. There is grocery store a few minutes walk away. I rented a bike to get into town and back easily. Playa del Coco is a nice, small town to relax in but close enough to other tourist activities. We'd love to go back, hopefully for longer. We felt very much at home in this condo. Thanks very much.

Peace in Paradise (if only for a week)

My wife & 2 children had a wonderful time and the accommodations couldn't have been any more perfect. Excursions were fun even for the small children. Deep sea fishing excursion which will guarantee to catch big ones is a lot of fun. (be prepared for a full day out) Being located just steps from the ocean is great & if the salt water scene is not for you, you can just step out the door to the pool as they also provided snorkeling equipment & air mattresses for the pool. The full kitchen made it easy when we just wanted to stay in and have a home cooked meal. Hope to make it back someday soon. Thanks for Everything.

My wife and I stayed in the Condo for two weeks and had a fabulous time.The amenities in the condo were great the fridge has water and ice on the door.and any cooking utensil you would ever need was there.A quick 2 or 3 minute walk and you were on the beach and 10 minutes you were in town.All of the restaurants and bars we visited were good and we spent alot of time in them.the pool was very nice and all of the other people who were staying at the complex were very nice and friendly.I would go back in a second.

Absolutely Spectacular!

What an amazing place to visit!! We spent 10 glorious days in Costa Rica and we used this condo as our home base. We did zip lining, and inner tubing down the rapids with Adventure Tours (got picked up right at our door step and chauffeured there), deep sea fishing (caught over 150 lbs of super yummy fish), and we went to Arenal Volcano (the drive there from Coco Beach was absolutely spectacular). We also spent a few quiet days walking along Coco Beach and just sitting by the pool. This complex has such a tropical setting that we didn't need to leave the condo to get a true flavour for this beautiful Country and all its plants and wild life. The views with the volcanic mountain ranges and dense forests were sensational. Good restaurants were walking distance, such as Café de Playa (try the margarita), Coconuts (recommend the chicken fajitas), and the Pizza place (meat lovers for me). In fact, we didn't have a bad meal anywhere in Costa Rica and everything was reasonably priced! We also visited some of the neighbouring beaches (Tamarindo, Ocotal) where we enjoyed lunch and drinks while watching the ocean and more volcanic mountain ranges with dense forest. If you go to Costa Rica, do not go to an all-inclusive resort. Rent a condo (this one) and really experience this Country. You will not regret it!

The condo is very clean and close to the beach with all ammenities including an excellent pool. It is walking distance to town (Playa Del Coco) with many restuarants and night clubs offering local, American, Chinese and pub food. We utilized the tour guide from the facility to book our stay at Arenal Volcano and a Zip Line, White Water Tubing and Spa adventure all which was amazing and also many fishing charters are available in which you are almost guaranteed to catch fish. The wildlife is is amazing, parrots and Howler Monkeys can be seen from the balcony! We had a great stay and we will rebook again!
