The place is clean and tidy. Plenty of towels for use - especially after playing and getting wet on the beach. We didn't even see or hear a plane. Also, the big lot allowed the children to run around freely. Although there isn't a washer/dryer on site, there is an affordable laundry service nearby. We would definitely stay here again!

Our family of 3 thoroughly enjoyed our summer vacation in this sweet, quiet, and secure spot. The airstrip was a fun bonus for our 3 year old and the few planes we saw were in and out so quickly and at reasonable hours that we almost missed them! The home was just right, very clean, fully equipped and enough space to enjoy our stay. The owners were available to answer any questions and we would definitely recommend this place to a friend. The dogs came to say hello and then were on their way so we felt comfortable. The quick 15 minute walk to the beach and boardwalk style bike/walking trail was also great so we could walk or bike to town if we wanted and stay off the Hwy1. Can't wait to come back again. Thanks Dee and Cliff.

Owner response: Thanks for your thoughtful review. You were great guests and we're enjoying the Mad River Brew! Kind regards and hugs to Leo. Dee & Cliff

Property was very clean and looked exactly like it was advertised. Great for 4 people or less and much better than staying in a hotel room. Property is located right outside of town so very convenient. The airport runway is not an issue - only small planes come in and out and we only saw about 3 planes over several days. The owners were very easy to work with. We enjoyed the Skunk Train. Owners recommended a great Mexican restaurant in town in their guest book - can't remember the name but it was really good.

This is a great little house. We stayed our 6 year-old daughter and her 7 year-old cousin, and we all had a great time. Convenient to a wonderful quiet beach. The walk is closer to 15 minutes, but not hard at all. We only saw two planes and we almost missed them - would have been fun to see more. The house is very clean, modern, and well-kept. Plenty of room for the kids to roam and play with the friendly dogs - would have liked to stay longer.

Our family, grandma, grandpa, daughter, and two grandchildren ages 2 and 5 stayed in this cottage for two weeks. We have nothing but fond memories of this stay. The cottage is extremely clean, well equipped, and nicely furnished. The owners are very responsive to every need of the visitors to their cottage and live nearby to respond quickly. Our granddaughters found the spacious yard and isolated location to be the perfect spot to safely explore and get rid of excess energy. This location is only a minute or so from Fort Bragg, so it is ideal for both closeness to the town and yet the feel of country. Two very friendly dogs were great with our granddaughters. They fell in love with them and hated to leave them behind. We were very close to everything we wanted to see and do. The owners of this location had some great recommendations for things to see and places to eat. This coast is so beautiful that we will never get our fill of things to do and see. We would not hesitate to stay here again. In fact, we have relatives in Fort Bragg, so our visits will always include staying at this location. If you come to this northwest coast of California for visits staying at this cottage each time will add to the perfect experience.

For a quiet place to relax with a good book, enjoy the beaches, BBQ, see deer, watch a small plane or two take off and land, this vacation cottage of Cliff and Dee's just can't be beat. It's just the perfect size for two couples or a small family. Our son and family had his trailer parked at Cleone and one night they joined us for a fresh salmon BBQ. Afterwards the kids watched videos and we played cards. There was plenty of space for kids to run, fly kites and explore with the two resident dogs - both friendly, sweet and very well behaved (both dogs and both grandkids that is!) Cliff and Dee were very friendly and helpful hosts and were available to make our stay the best! Michael's once in a lifetime blue whale experience while fishing with his Ft. Bragg cousins added to make this a most unforgetable gem of a vacation. We definately recommend this place.

My wife and I had a thoroughly enjoyable 2 week experience at Dee and Cliff's place in Ft. Bragg. We also enjoyed the company of their dogs, Roger (aka Captain), Ruby, and Heidi. You really can't go wrong here. It's quiet, convenient, and often visited by quail and deer. And the price - compared to the local motels, was very affordable. We plan on returning next year!

We were the first renters to this very clean, brand new home in Oct 2010. The owners were very helpful and accommodating. The property is located north of Ft Bragg, past Pudding Creek Beach and before MacKercher State Park. The house is located on a large lot, with plenty of room for our little kids to roam and explore. The house is located to the East of Hwy 1 right next to a very teeny-tiny airstrip, with no highway noise at all. The bedrooms were spacious and the second bedroom was taken by the kids -- the older one in the bed and the younger one on his guard rail protected crib mattress in a corner on the floor. This bedroom could easily accommodate a portable crib or pack and play. The master could do the same with some furniture moved around. The heater kept us very warm. Kids enjoyed the large TV with a great selection of cable kid TV shows. The dinner table in the kitchen easily accommodates four, and the bar stools were great for snack time. Had we been there in summer, we would have eaten at the picnic table on the front deck. The kids saw one plane take off during our entire stay and they thoroughly enjoyed it. Wi-fi worked great and helped us figure out what to do each day. We come up to Ft Bragg about 1x per year and we will be back at this place again.
