Why the Owner Chose LudlowFantastic views of the Green Mountains and the close proximity to major ski areas, golf courses and outdoor activities appealed to our family. The home was also a reasonable distance from our primary residence in NJ.
The Unique Benefits at this HouseWe love using the sauna, making fires in the massive stone fireplace, cooking on the grill and sitting out on the awesome deck enjoying the view.
Owner's Map of Ludlow
We live in northern NJ. I grew up skiing at Okemo during the 70's and 80's. My folks had built a small log home in Andover in 1979 which they sold in the late 90's. Having a great time skiing as a kid in Vermont served as the inspiration for me to build and re-create a similar experience for my children and wife. I have 2 young boys 5 and 2. The 5 year old has already been skiing for 2 years and loves the sport. Our hope is to share our home with families or small groups in order to offset some of the expense of maintaining a second home. This is not meant to be a pure rental property as my family uses the home throughout the year. We enjoy going to Vermont during all seasons as there is an abundance of outdoor activities for the entire family.

Nice house in good location about 20-25 minutes from ski resort. Good kitchen and rooms. If its snowing road needs salt/stones if you don't have a 4x4 but owner will send contractor to prepare road if needed. Kudos to the owner in his outstanding communication.

We had a great time at this property. We had 3 couples + 5 kids 3-6yrs, & the layout was perfect so each family had their own bath/bed area. We loved the log details, the fireplace, and the spectacular view. The loft was great for a playroom where we could hear what the small kids were doing. The lower level would be great for teenagers, but we didn't really even need the extra room. We missed using the sauna - we will have to come back!

This was our first time using VRBO - the owners were incredibly kind and patient dealing with my dozens of e-mails (Thank You!) The house is beautiful with an amazing view - very clean and centrally located. It was great to be able to travel with three children and not have to drag everything but the kitchen sink. Everything that we needed was there:) We would absolutely recommend the house to friends and/or relatives! Thank you for making our first Vermont stay a great one!!

Our group has been going on ski trips for the past 6 years and we rent a different house each time, NOT anymore. You drive up the long driveway and at the end sits a spectacular and inviting log home. The PERFECT ski lodge! The craftsmanship all through the house is unbelievable and you can see that the owners, Michael and Andrea, wanted nothing but the best. The home is open and very spacious, yet still warm and cozy, and has radiant heat throughout (toasty warm!). We had 8 adults and 4 teenagers and never felt crowded. The large great room is open with 20 ft ceilings, exposed logs, a floor to ceiling stone fireplace and floor to ceiling windows that offer an unbelievable view of the Vermont Mountains. Nothing better than relaxing in the large leather chair in front of the roaring fire and watching the snow fall. There is large loft overlooking the great room, which is where the 4 teenagers slept. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. One night we cooked a full Thanksgiving dinner. The home has a 2 car garage for storing your ski equipment and just inside is a mud room for your coats and boots. Oh, there is also a sauna, which is nice after a long day of skiing. No need to bring your laptop along because there is an office with a computer. Off the great room there is a covered deck with a gas grill and plenty of firewood. For those days when you want to just hang out and relax they have several WII games, we all loved Need for Speed, movies via Netflix and several board games. This home has everything you need for a great ski vacation. Michael and Andrea were very accommodating and a pleasure to deal with. When we arrived Wednesday night they had the heat already on for us so the home was a delightful 70 degrees. We woke up one morning to a snow and ice covered driveway. Although we were not planning to ski that day someone in our group needed to leave early. I contacted Mike and shortly afterwards someone was there to take care of the driveway. The next day they were back at 7:00am sanding so we could get an early start on the slopes. You will not be disappointed at all renting this log home. We will definitely be back next year!! Thanks Mike and Andrea for a great ski vacation.

We had a great time during our recent stay in Weston. We went snowboarding at Okemo, shopped in Manchester, visited the Long Trail brewery, and took some hikes locally. We even visited the Vermont Country Store, which was so convenient and close! Everything listed in the description was accurate, but it was even bigger and better than we thought. The property was very spacious, clean and well maintained. We had 10 in our party and was extremely comfortable and had plenty of room. The downstairs room was a great place for the teenagers to relax and have some privacy. The heated floors kept the home warm and comfortable. We expecially loved the fireplace. The owner, Michael, was very helpful and accommodating. We would definately recommend this home to others and we would definately stay here again.

My husband and I along with a friend traveled here from Mississippi and stayed a week at this beautiful house. The pictures DO NOT EVEN do this house justice! Once you set into this house you are greeted by a massive fireplace and awesome views of the moutains. The house is so spacious, comfortable, and immaculate. The views from the great room as well as the master bedroom are breathtaking. Several days, we enjoyed eating lunch on the deck. The house's location was "just right" for many of our day trips across the state of Vermont. We were able to get back "home" in time for my husband to grill and still enjoy the amazing sunsets. Michael, the owner, was very accomodating. We enjoyed every minute of our Vermont stay; and if we ever get the chance to come back to Vermont, we definitely will stay here!
Owner response:Thank you Renee! I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to having you come back.

We recently stayed here for our annual family get togther. Since our children are grown with busy lives of their own, we love to "hunker down" at least once or twice a year to relax and reconnect over an extended 4 day weekend. We had such a fantastic time at the beautiful log home in Andover, VT! It sits high on a hill with spectacular views of the Vermont mountain ranges from the log home's large windowed walls. The pictures on the rental site definately do not do it justice...the home is much larger, spaceous and open! It is well maintained and offers all the comforts of home! There were 10 of us all together and never felt like we were on top of each other. Besides the 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (one with an awesome soaking claw footed tub!) there also is an open loft and a large open downstairs family room that opens up to the front yard. There're 2 flat screen TV's, a Wii and Netflix for movies. There's even a sauna that a few of us used after "playing" outside in the fresh fallen snow! The kitchen is well equipt with everything you'll need. There also is a den/study with computer/internet. For those that have children, there are plenty of toys and also a full sized crib in one of the bedrooms. It snowed twice while we were there and the caretaker had come to plow each time. The house is close to Stratten and Okemo Mountains for skiing and lots of quaint little village stores to poke around in. Micheal R. is the gracious owner and very helpful. We loved every minute of our stay here that we all agreed, when it was time to pack for home, that we'd come back here yearly for our special long weekend!

We just returned for a lovely stay at this house. The pictures do not do it justice and it was much bigger than we expected. Perfect layout for families and very nice decor. The views were lovely and the house is an easy drive to Okemo. We really enjoyed our stay and plan to come back!
